Omelette was tasty, but nothing special. Presentation was super cute though! Inside was clean and cute. Not many tables, so there may be a wait depending on how busy it is when you come. Service was great despite how busy it got. I can see myself coming back here!

They offered two little slips to each customer - one for a savory crepe and one for a sweet and you can build you own. Great concept but it would be beneficial if the server confirmed the order because we asked for nutella, banana, strawberry, and ice cream and got 2/4. We were in a rush to leave so forgot to check the receipt to see if we were charged for the others; however it was $48 (w/o tip) for 1 panini, 1 crepe and 1 latte so a bit overpriced for the quality of food, in my opinion. The sandwich and crepe were both just okay, nothing to rave about. The drink was aesthetically pleasing with the iced Bear and tasted great. We asked for whipped cream on the latte but our server forgot that too. She also forgot to provide us water until we asked and it came at the end of the meal.  Outside dining was not optimal as it's right next to the railroad tracks and quite loud. There is a kids play area which I thought was a nice addition to the space, but I do wish it was gated off for the younger kids as it's so close to the road! Overall, I found that it was a bit overrated and underwhelming... there are so many restaurants to choose from in the area that I wouldn't opt to come back here.

I cannot believe they don't serve hot food starting around 8:15pm and they close at 11pm. They only have cold items like hummus and veggies and sweets. And apparently, no outside food. Definitely a place to avoid if you want to eat a meal and play games after 8pm. It's not fun to play on an empty stomach!

This is definitely not the case at the Main Street Board Game Cafe! The $15 entrance fee makes perfect sense to me... as they have a great variety of games in surprisingly immaculate condition, and very knowledgeable staff that are happy to explain how all of the games are played. The staff are really what set this cafe apart from others like it. Learning the rules from an expert is what makes complicated strategy based games less scary and more fun!! Everything is also very clean and well maintained, and the food is tasty. Definitely not the fanciest or most complex stuff on the menu, but who's coming here for the food anyway? They make a yummy grilled cheese, and some really good strong espresso based drinks. They have a great selection of teas from the clipper ship tea company as well.

But I could be wrong given I am normally on the New Haven Line). Anyway, this place has 5-star reviews across the bar which is how this ended up being the first option I could find on the Saw Mill. So went we did. You can find street parking right next to its building. This is a nice quaint little art shop, and there's plenty of things here you can buy if you just need that something extra in your life. It is a Filipino shop with plenty to check out if art shops are your thing. I personally get bored with them pretty easily if I'm not fully invested in what art places have to offer, but that's nothing against this place as that is just a personal preference. So what you see on my pictures here is what I had: the Ube cheesecake and the Ube Affogato. Believe it or not this is not my first experience with affogato as there used to be an affogato place on the way to/from work I would stop by for. It's ice cream and espresso, and let me tell you that if you haven't had a good affogato before, you're missing out! In fact, I even once met a cast of actual Netflix actors and actresses at that old affogato shop, and there was one person in the cast that remarked that I could have fit in right with the cast. So by getting the Ube affogato here, it was like taking a trip down memory lane. It WAS however my first experience with ube, so it was a taste of old times and new memories all-in-one. Both things I had were really delicious! If I have more Ube things in the future and they're this good, I might have a new contender for a new favorite flavor of food! The customer service was really nice too. The lady working there you can tell puts a lot of care into what she does. A nice little tidbit I like is that when I asked for a spoon for my cheesecake, she shared that Filipinos tend to eat cheesecake that way as well. I thought that was some really cool knowledge. And the ambiance is very homestyle that sometimes you can't tell it's actually a shop. This will make for a great morning stop if you're ever in the area. Maybe you could stop by here, kick it slow a bit before catching a train to NYC, or even Sleepy Hollow. This place gets both my thumbs way, WAY up!
