    Where's the meat?

Worst Italian combo I've ever had. Charged $17.50 for the wedge and bag of chips. Haha. Absolute joke. Will never go here again.

a sandwich with pepperoni and cheese

I like deli's so I thought I'd give this one a try. I'm usually not a yelper but I thought this sandwich was a bit sad, especially for the $10 I payed for just the wedge itself. There's plenty of delis all around Stamford that give waaay more in a roll sand which for a cheaper price. The onions were cut really thick and had barely any lettuce. It just tasted more so like a high school lunch sandwich. The cheese in the breakfast sandwich tasted processed and not fresh. And again on the pricier side of $5, was just not worth it.

It feels hidden in the sense that you could drive right past it and miss it, but once you find it, it is absolutely worth it. There is parking out front which is a plus. Inside, it is exactly what you would expect from a classic mom and pop Italian deli. Small, warm, welcoming, decently lit, and clean. They also have a huge menu with tons of options, not even counting everything available at the deli counter. I took my time looking over the menu and the staff was patient while I decided. I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese with black pepper on a wedge and a bacon, egg, and cheese lightly toasted on white bread. The wedge was the highlight. Big portion, very filling, and everything tasted fresh and high quality. It was cooked and put together really well. My only small critique is that the bread was very soft and the eggs were falling out a bit, but I also did not ask for it toasted so that may be on me. The bacon, egg, and cheese on white bread was good as well. The only downside was that it was very lightly toasted, almost not toasted at all, and it used bacon pieces instead of strips. Overall, this is an excellent local deli with quality food, generous portions, and a welcoming feel. I would definitely recommend stopping by, and I will absolutely be back.

"A good deli does not need to impress you. It just needs to show up when you need it."…read more Mama Carmela's is the kind of place that quietly fills that role in a town. It may not try to reinvent the sandwich, but it delivers something dependable. My girlfriend and I both ordered the Middlesex sandwich. It was solid and satisfying, built with good portions and the kind of ingredients you expect from a neighborhood deli. The bread held everything together well and the balance of meats and toppings made it an easy, straightforward lunch. Nothing overly fancy, but it gets the job done. Service was quick and efficient. Orders moved through the counter at a steady pace and the staff kept things running smoothly. It felt like a place that knows its regular crowd and understands that most people are stopping in for a reliable bite rather than a long dining experience. The ambiance matches that deli identity. It is casual, simple, and functional. A small local spot where people come in, grab a sandwich, and head back to their day. It has that comfortable neighborhood energy without trying to be anything more than it needs to be. Mama Carmela's earns three stars as a reliable deli. Not necessarily a destination, but definitely a dependable stop when you are craving a good sandwic

Everything arrived cold, overcooked, and burnt. On top of that, it was salty but somehow still had no real flavor. I also asked for cheese and it was not added. Portions were smaller than expected for some of the items. We ordered one platter, two breakfast sandwiches, fries, and two drinks. The order included two eggs with home fries, rye toast with butter, bacon, and a sausage patty, plus a bacon egg and cheese on white bread and another on a hard roll. The hot chocolate was literally a cup of hot water with one Swiss Miss packet, which was surprising. My iced coffee came black with no cream included and it tasted burnt. Overall, the meal was not worth what we paid and most of it was honestly inedible. I really wanted to like this place because it has great reviews everywhere, so maybe this was just a really bad day for them. Still, based on this experience, I don't think we'll be ordering from here again.

Enzo's did an amazing job putting together a catering platter for 25 of my coworkers - I ordered 3 platters of the mixed sandwiches and wraps... there were at least 10 different assortments on the platters, it was amazing. Ham, turkey, various types of chicken - deli chicken, grilled chicken, chicken cutlet - eggplant and mozz, prosciutto, etc. Some were on breads, some were on wraps, with various types of breads and wraps... everyone found something that they loved, it felt like you could have customized your order. Fantastic selection, not a lazy make of the same 3 sandwiches. I also ordered a two platters of the two different pasta salads - the small is very big! The tortellini was delicious and so was the farfelle pasta salad... perfectly cooked pasta and delicious fresh cheeses and pesto. I was able to pick up my order (they also deliver) and put everything out without another thought... they thought of everything.. the sandwich condiments, the plates and napkins, the salad dressing and serving utensils. It was such a pleasure - and priced very well. I would definitely suggest Enzo's to cater - they have lots of other options too! Chicken dishes, pasta dishes, antipastos, everything!

Totaling to $4.50. And or course someone making it for you ok. Two and a half dozen eggs are $7.49, half a pound of ham is less than $6 not for boars head obviously I mean come on, the math is not adding up especially when I'm getting a product like this...in the picture the other half, you can't even see any Ham. Head to Fusaro deli down the road for same price and more enthusiastic service and way better sandwiches. This is my search, and my money spent for the right breakfast sandwich, and I rightfully earned my opinion.

I'm going to start with the good…read more When I called to place an advance order, the guy on the phone was friendly. When I picked up the food, the kid at the counter was friendly and helped bring my order to the car. Now, I have to lay out the facts. This was the first time I've ordered food from A&S. I called to place my order based on the catering menu posted on their website. I wanted to order two stuffed breads, a panzanella salad and chicken scarp. Note that the website indicates, "Pricing of all of our items is subject to change [due] to constant fluctuations in costs..." The guy who took my order informed me that they no longer do stuffed breads. "Okay," I said and ordered a vegetable crudite platter on the fly since I wasn't anticipating that. "Oh yeah," the guy said, it is also $45 (not $30 that it says on the website). Begrudgingly, I said that's fine, as it was for a family Sunday afternoon dinner. Next, I ordered the panzanella salad. "We don't make that anymore." The guy informed me. I sighed and said, "Alright, how about a [small bowl] Caesar salad?" The menu listed it as $25 on the website. Lastly, I ordered the main event, the Chicken Scarpariello. Thankfully, they still made this and the half tray was still $60, like the website said. Fast forward to me picking up the food on Sunday. The kid at the counter shows me all of the items, Caesar salad w/ Caesar dressing, vegetable crudite with blue cheese dip and chicken scarp. "That'll be $148.60," he said. "Would you like a receipt?" YES. It didn't sit right with me how much everything cost (for 6 adults, mind you). I asked my wife to read me the receipt when I drove off. Included was a $4.73 'non-cash adj.' which I assume was me using my credit card (on a $140 ORDER). When I opened the food up, I really got angry. My $30 Caesar salad had zero croutons. It was solely lettuce and parmigiano cheese. Essentially, it was likely a 3-head bag of lettuce with cheese and dressing, for $30. Something I could have done myself for about $7 tops. Next, my $45 vegetable crudite platter had broccoli, red & yellow peppers, celery and cucumber with blue cheese. There was no spinach/artichoke dip as indicated on the website. Neatly presented, but it was $45 for veggies (and one, not two dips). Last, the menu indicates the chicken scarp is served over rice. When I opened the tray; SURPRISE, no rice. The food was tasty (specifically the chicken). But for what I paid (for mostly vegetables), I am so disgusted. Not only with A&S, but myself for agreeing to purchase the food in the first place. I have such disdain for this experience, I'm likely not going back. The guy taking the order admitted the website needed to be updated. But again, mostly I'm pissed at myself because I paid a lot for what I got in kind. The cherry on top was the line item on my receipt for using a credit card. I get that credit card companies charge fees, but it's 2023 and if you're going to nickel and dime someone for using a credit card, do it if it's under $10, not on a $140 order. Lesson learned. The problem with running a business this way, is you only can pull that ruse once, otherwise it's shame on me.
