Today I went to the store to get a picture that I order , I had my 4 month old and my dog with me. This boy tried to look for my picture and he couldn't find it, he asked me to do it again and I couldn't bc my coupon wasn't valid anymore. I was given 2 days of antibiotics refill and then received a message that remainder of refill was ready. I went to the Stamford Walgreens on 680 E. Main St pharmacy counter on 8/31/24 and it was closed. There was a note stating that the pharmacy would reopen 9/3/24. From 8/31/24 to 8/1/24 I checked on Google, Walgreens website and Walgreen Pharmacy chat and received conflicting info on which Walgreens Pgarmacy was open. It turned out that the closest Walgreens pharmacy open was in Fairfield, CT. Walmart pharmacy was open, however, I would have to have the Walmart pharmacist contact the open Walgreens pharmacy to transfer the prescription. I wasn't able to get the remainder of my antibiotics on 9/1/24. read more

Walgreens PHARMACY has become the WORST pharmacy in town, I have a prescription for Metformin that is almost 24hrs in and it's still being worked on, I'm actually on hold for almost 20mins now waiting for someone to answer since they click in then instantly put back on hold, this has been going on the entire call, you'd die before they fill the prescription or even answer and say hello!! Awful location. Very conveniently located near my home, but would prefer CVS more if it were closer. I'm frequently at the store, and spend way tooooo much money to be disrespected. I'm calling corporate on the new manager, who enjoyed giving me a hard time when I simply asked for him to reach a juice I wanted. Instead berated me and told me no. Calling me names, along with the employee who I've seen working there for over a year. Very distasteful. I'm also well known in town, so having someone trying to humiliate you in front of customers is deeply disturbing. Especially being a local store manager myself. I have a love hate relationship with this Walgreens. It's conveniently located to our apartment and we can easily walk over there. This Walgreens is usually well stocked, though during these times, it's hard for companies to keep up with supply and demand. It's always clean and bright. The employees are usually nice except one evening, I came in and this employee was having a temper tantrum near the photo area, yelling out explicit language quite a bit. He didn't even stop when he noticed me (let alone, apologize). The reason for my 2 star rating is because of their photo area. I've had nothing but issues with them. The first time, I ordered my photos and payed for them online only for them to give my photos to someone else which meant I hate to wait another 30-40 minutes for me to prove that I in fact, did not pick up my photos nor authorize someone to do it for me. The second time, I ordered photos and a bamboo photo plaque. It took weeks and they still didn't print the photos out. I contacted corporate and they couldn't help me with the issue. Only that the bamboo photo frame is out of stock and they don't know when it will be back...but they sold it to me? So I purchased the photos for pickup and it wouldn't let me pay and it said photo order has been cancelled. So then my husband went in to get the photos and they didn't have them. BUT. I'm still getting emails to pick up my photos. It makes no sense. I will never use Walgreens Photo here again. My other complaint is to be careful with the flu shot area. I went to get my flu shot here and the cashier said "I'll give you a discount" because I didn't have insurance at the time. Then I signed paperwork and I was good to go. I was shocked that he gave me a discounted flu shot but at the same time, they're giving free COVID vaccines. Well, a few hours later, I got a call to come back and pay for my flu shot because they forgot to charge me. This place cannot get it together, that's for sure. read more

Those who work there get angry when we need assistance, they see one needing help and they don't ask you if you need help, they don't care about anything, they are just running, doing nothing from one place to the other waiting for the departure time, especially the people who are at back at the FedEx location and photo printing. I'm not the type of person who complains about workers, I don't usually write bad reviews of anyone either, but in this place they never make you want to return, They should be fire those who work here and hire new staff, the people who work here are tired that's why they only come to do their hours but they don't want to work. I wish I could give this location 0 stars. The pharmacy is insanely slow, no one tends to the drive thru window, not even sure why it is there. Constant long lines to get prescription and rude staff. It doesn't matter if it's the morning, afternoon or night, I've tried going at all different time. As I am writing this, I have been in line almost 10 minutes, the guy working is on his phone, scrolling. Why not take the next person while the one at the register is waiting for her prescriptions? This happens every single time without fail. They only ever have one pick up window open. Calling? Forget it you'll waiting on hold about 10 minutes each time too. The pharmacy has a minimum of a 3 person line at any point during the day. On several occasions, I have been told by the pharmacy tech that my doctor never called in a prescription. After calling my doctor for each instance, the technician was actually incorrect. While I understand this is a busy section of Stamford, the corporation needs to invest in having more skilled technicians available on staff to alleviate the long lines and order confusion. After sticking with Walgreens after moving multiple times in a tri-state area, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

The pharmacist are very helpful. However, the fact that I went today and it was closed without any notice, is unreal. This has happened before when they have closed early or opened late. I get that they have staffing shortages, but to close completely, with no direction from the store, or information on how to transfer, is not right. Awesome and a drive thru...who knew? I went to this Walgreens because not one other Walgreens in a 30 mile radius had my daughter's medication. And a few of the stores that I called wouldn't even tell me if they had it...they said I had to drive down and they could check. WTF?! Why the hell would I drive all over Connecticut hoping I can find medicine when you are there, have a phone and should be able to tell me what you have in stock. Come on is stupidity a requirement for working at Walgreens?! Anyway, I called this location from Midtown Manhattan, asked if the medication was in stock and after finding out that it was I hightailed it back to CT. When I pulled up to the store I discovered not only covered parking, but a drive up window! Hallelujah!!!! I dropped off the medication, was told to wait 20 minutes, got a text in 19 telling me to come back and I was on my way home in no time. I will use them again and again! Thanks :) read more

One might think that this Walgreens would be dinky because of its 'urban' setting at the base of an apartment building, but it's actually incredibly spacious and has all the departments one might find in more suburban locations: Photos and print-your-own, a wall of cosmetics, and light groceries. They just opened in April 2009. Some of their signs originally said that there would be a 24 hour drive-thru pharmacy at this location; however they have either scrapped those plans or haven't got the pharmacy running yet. Been coming to this location for about 2 years now on a regular basis and near every visit is a letdown. I use the email prescription refill option and on multiple occasions have shown up hours after I receive an email confirming my prescription was filled, just to find the pharmacy needs another hour. HOURS AFTER THE CONFIRMATION. I'm not sure if they're understaffed or what but I have never been in and out of this pharmacy. I'm only giving this review two stars SOLEY off the fact that the staff is friendly. In terms of speed in getting through their customers, I'd give them negative stars. Not even an "I'll be right with you" So my boyfriend went inside, a little angry obviously and found the guy was too busy taking pictures with his phone to actually help customers and when he finally got around to helping my boyfriend informed him that Walgreens isn't Mcdonalds and that's why no one was helping us at the window. TERRIBLE customer service at the pharmacy, even CVS is better.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING AS FAR AWAY FROM THEM AS POSSIBLE. After tonight, I'm switching all my scrips to a mom and pop pharmacy in downtown Stamford on Bedford Street called Medicine Shop. They actually have BRAINS and deliver to your home, too. (My boyfriend swears by them.) I've had many bad encounters with the East Main St. Walgreens, but tonight was by far the worst! I have to use the drive thru, and if my scrip isn't ready, I pull out and park so the next person in line can be served. It was near closing, 9:00, and the kid in front of me wouldn't move. I tapped the horn, he wouldn't move. I asked him to move, he refused. I did, however, manage to get to the window on time. I've been handicapped since birth, I can't walk. I do have a scooter but it is quite an ordeal to get it out of the back of the van. I needed insulin (had been there before to pick it up but, of course, it wasn't ready.) When I finally made it to the window, the cashier, Virginia, was angry that I was harassing their customers! When their customer was being incredibly rude. Everyone inside the pharmacy thought it was a big joke and were exchanging glances and sniggering. I lost it. This is how you treat customers? Especially people with special needs that are beyond their control? I repeatedly asked for their names which they refused to give. I asked to speak to the manager, which at first they refused (I still don't know the name of the female cashier who was the MOST amused. I have the names Virginia and Emir (the night manager who claimed at first NOT to be the night manager.) He did not apologize to me for the conduct of the employees, he was completely useless. He just basically walked away from me. I asked him if he thought it was right to mock the handicapped, especially in a customer service situation. He just shrugged. I asked if he had anything to say about his employee's lack of professionallsm. He simply did not care. His name is Emir (couldn't get his last name.) I am calling the general manager of the store tomorrow, Juan Munez, and definitely having all my prescriptions switched to Medicine Shop. These people wouldn't care if you had a stroke or heart attack waiting in your car for you prescriptions. They simply don't care at all. One last thing (I know it's too long,) there has been one pharmacist who has always gone above and beyond for me at East Main. His name is Joshua and he is just wonderful. He should be required to give humanity classes (not even customer service,) to all employees. He goes above and beyond at all times for me. Congratulations, Joshua. I wish they were all like you. Last Wednesday, I had an oral surgery and the doctor gave me 2 different prescriptions for managing the pain. Right after the surgery, I could barely talk due to the local anesthesia was on on the mouth. Anyway, I first went to CVS tried to fill the prescription, I was told to come back on Friday to pick the prescription. (Thursday was a holiday.) Since the surgical site was a bit painful after the surgery, I didn't want to wait for 2 days ... So I went to the Walgreens at E. Main St. My prescriptions were filled on-site and it took only about 30 minutes. Later that day, I called the Pharmacist to inquire about the possible interactions with the prescriptions and the Pharmacist was very patient with me and she gave me helpful guidance. read more

The pharmacy at this Walgreens is the worst pharmacy in the entire network. They are always out of the medications I use requiring me to wait several days for a full refill. One of my medications was out of stock and I was told yesterday after being on hold for 15 minutes that the full prescription was ordered and would be coming to the store by 11:00 am today. I called at noon to make sure it had arrived before heading over there. The tech who answered the phone at first told me that they only had the partial refill but she then put me on hold and rudely came back on the phone to say, "Your entire order is here and you better pick it up soon because we can't hold it for you." I reminded her that the meds just came in today through no fault of my own so why was she acting like the scrip had been sitting there not being picked up. She then started talking to a person in the store at the window and then without warning she disconnected the call! I couldn't get through again so I went over there and had to wait another 15 minutes for them to label the meds before I could pick them up. There is always an issue every time I have to pick up a prescription here. Either the line is long or the prescription isn't ready or they say they don't have it when in fact I know my doctor sent it over. I am thinking of transferring my prescriptions to CVS because of the bad experiences I have had here. read more

Don't go here for a passport photo. I'm an executive assistant and I sent my boss her because I needed her to get 2 copies of passport style photos for a business visa to India. We were unfortunately on a very tight time frame to get this visa submitted and I literally needed to get the application in the overnight that same day. So she goes to this Walgreens and is told it will take 5 minutes. 15 minutes go by and it turns out there was a shadow on the photo. Rather than fixing the flash and retaking the photo, they spend an inordinate amount of time trying to touch the photo up. The result was a very doctored looking photo, which isn't going to fly on business visa application. She asked them to please just retake the photo several times and the associate as well as the manager stood united and just refused. WTF. Just fix the flash and retake the picture. Whats the big deal? Are you seriously concerned about loosing 5 cents to maybe a dollar in photo paper? She ended up going to CVS. I narrowly got all the documents into the overnight. If there were some legitimate reason for the inconveniences such as a problem with the camera, or shortage of staff in the store, I could maybe understand, but that was not the case. The staff and management of that store just refused the easiest and most obvious solution. If someone is coming in for a passport photo their is a pretty good chance that, that person may be in rush to get their passport or visa application submitted. Don't say its going to take 5 minutes, then argue about retaking the picture, and then force the customer to go elsewhere. read more
