I recently came here to get my eyebrows threaded on a friend's recommendation. I previously went to Bushra's in Stephen's Green shopping centre, which is no comparison (the unit is very exposed to nearby shoppers and the staff do a rushed job). Bushra is a perfectionist, and attentively carries out her work. Eyebrow threading only costs €10, very competitively priced for Dublin city centre. I will definitely be a frequent customer here. Given the size of the shops in Mary Street Mall, it's amazing how Bushra's Beauty Salon manages to pack so many services into their shop. The first service on offer, and pretty much the jewel in their crown, is an expert eyebrow threading service for just €12. This is one of those treatments that wins lifelong devotees -a good friend of mine swears up and down by her threader (and is paying a good deal more, but shh). As the promotional material says, Bushra's threading is a longer lasting, less painful alternative to standard waxing and plucking; it's also something that, should I ever grow out of my sparse-brow phase, I'll be signing up for. The salon also offers facials, aroma therapies, massages, lash and brow tinting, amazing henna tattoos from €10 plus standard waxing (all the way to Brazillian... yikes) and reflexology. I know, I don't know how they do it all, either. What I like best is the well-priced packages: the Pre-Holiday special includes a half leg, bikini and underarm wax, brow threading and lash tint for €70. I am a loyal Bushras client! I trek from Rarhfarnham or Marino to have my eyebrows etc cared for here. I literally do not think you get better value or quality anywhere else in Dublin. I am updating my review and upgrading my original 3 stars to FIVE! Why all the love? Well, for starters my eyebrows are important to me as they are on my face, and I choose/prefer to have them professionally done. I Ive been a long time user of threading (11 years to be exact) and when I moved to Dublin I shopped around and did resesrch to find and stay with Bushras. Here are 5 reasons I support this business: 1. Customer Service: They answer the phone, return messages, send texts for appt reminders, get to know you, stay open 5 mins longer on occassion just because youre a regular client and youre getting to them as rast as you can, personally tailor your visit to your needs, and ensure satisfaction. * You also earn free treatments with your loyalty card. 2. Cleanliness: The salon has moved from Marys Mall (where despite outward appearances always kept a bright, clean, stylish and classy interior) to there own building just a but further down the street. The new salon is both beautiful inside AND out. The image for modern, chic, and concientiously CLEAN is there through and through. 3. Quality & Quantity: Ive always liked my nails, wax, facials, and brow treatments here and think prices are fair, competitive with market prices and lower in cost than other competitors. Also, Ive never had pressure for upgraded treatments or other services to get more €€€€. I dont like being asked "Do you want....blah blah" when I know what I wanted done before the appointment. I really appreciate the hassle free time! 4. Location: True; I do trek it into the city centre, but its a central and handy location. Its easy to access from the bus, Luas, parking, or cycling/walking in. 5. Flexible appointments: Walk-ins are accepted and hours are from morning to 7pm. Appointments get priority though. ***** I've been here three times since I moved to Dublin in August. I've been charged 10 euro on two visits and 12 euro on a different visit. My experience was horrible !!!!!!!! The lady who did my eye brows was treating it like as though my face was a dolls face. The eye brow was threaded out so hard that it has left it swollen. She has made it extremely thin even though I mentioned to her to keep it thick. She didn't even have the patience to listen or to ask what I preferred. I don't even look like myself anymore. Never suggesting this place to anyone. Don't know how other locations are but the one on St. Stephens Green is ridiculous! read more

So I first went to Bushras in the Ballsbridge Hotel after they did a grab one/groupon deal. My first visit was great, loved the shape of my eyebrows after the threading and it was quick and a convenient location for me. Based on my first experience I decided to go back to get my holiday prep done. Unfortunately the quality of treatment I received after was poor. They had a number of special offers on, so it was great value for all the treatments, but not really. For a Brazilian wax, they did less than what most places do in a standard bikini. Next the nails, now this is the main issue I'm writing this review, I don't like giving places bad press but being someone who gets my nails done regularly I expected a better standard than this. The offer was great: shellac and a free mini pedicure for €25, sounds great. The mini pedi consisted of a quick file and polish (not even a quick soak/scrub which other places would do in a mini pedi). While my toes were drying she did my shellac on my hands. My cuticles weren't touched, so looked dreadful,but I got over that as the price was good. I got my shellac done on a Wednesday, on Saturday morning on the flight to go on holidays it chipped. By the Tuesday it had peeled off in chunks on 4 of my fingers. It looked horrific. I have had shellac done many times before, as well as gelish, bio sculpture and opi 3week Mani (so I'm well used to having gel polish) and it always lasts between 2-3 weeks without chipping. I was so disappointed with this poor job, my nails were dreadful, I ended up going to a nail salon on holidays to get them off and redone and the nail technician couldn't believe the nails had only been done a few days. Anyway back at the original appointment shellac was done and the girl checked my toes and said they were dry and I could put on my shoes and go! I got a free parking pass so was happy out! Got to car and my shoes felt sticky, the polish had smudge all over my shoes. So I went back in and explained asking could she fix my toes (I had just left about 2min previously). While she obliged, she did so with an awful huff and was rolling her eyes (while I appreciate it would be frustrating customer service is always important). So I sat back down and she just blobbed some polish over the lumpy smudged polish and that was it! I was so shocked! I drove home barefoot to be safe! And sure the next day it all peeled off it was so lumpy!! Really poor service and not professional. The same day I got threading done and that was great! Can't complain about that. Would I go back, probably not, unless I needed a quick eyebrow thread without needing an appointment! Can't fault their threading, but despite the offers they have, go somewhere else for your waxing and nails, it will be worth the extra couple of euro in the long run! read more

Booked online for upper lip & eyebrow threading for 1pm on my lunch break, arrived on time but didn't get seen till 1:20pm after a queue of people ahead of me (walk-ins). There was one therapist doing everything, trying to attend to 5 customers at once. Very frustrating. They need more staff, and they need to prioritise pre-booked customers. read more

I spotted Bushra's at the Xpose Expo in Dublin (Nov 2010) as there was lots of interest around as they were doing the threading. As I had never had threading done before I was very nervous but I watched the happy customers ahead of me and also agreed they were doing a great job. I decided to take the leap of getting the threading done...was still a little nervous as didn't want thin eyebrows. I have to say that my only regret is that I did not try it sooner as the girls at Bushra's have a genuine talent in shaping eyebrow. Comments from family were that it opened my eyes. I found it painless, regrowth is a lot slower and more shape than waxing / tweezing. I haven't been to the salon so I can't comment on the that but I am diffo going to call in when up in Dublin! :0) read more

I have been to the "saloon" in Ballinteer shopping centre. Never again. I got shellac on my toenails (something i had done many times before in many other places) and the first thing I noticed was that the girl wanted me to put my feet on a dirty towel which had been literally just used by another client. When she saw my raised brow, she turned it over. Did non change it for a fresh one. Turned it over. She then proceeded to file my existing shellac off, actually hurting my toes to the point I thought on two occasions i would see blood. The job was poor, after a week one toenail had completely peeled off and the others soon followed. read more

I visit the place 22.12.2015 ,this was my first visit there and for sure last one.I have had my nails done many times in different places ,but this one was worst ever!!! Its a pity it was exactly before Christmas my nails look horrible. Woman named Christine or some similar name" did" my nails shellac and toes nails,its all costs 30 euro,the worst spent money ever.All that she did to put color and that is it,no cleaning,no shaping ,no cuticle work.etc.nothing just color,on my toes even no shellac and 30 euro just color!!! I am not mentioning how unhappy and unpleasant was that woman,i was feeling that she hate doing my nails,and from what she did i think my feeling are true.Cant wait tomorrow to go to remove those nails and to be done in proper way.So sorry that I visit this place,NEVER AGAIN read more

She made my eyebrows sooo thin and my tan was awful just the day before my sister wedding ,I was so annoyed !!!!!

NEVER AGAIN!!!!! This shop is not so bad, I would ONLY get treaments like nails/massages there as their prices are reasonable. The manager of this shop trains girls to thread eyebrows and sends them all out to "The Body Shops" all over.... I tried my local Body Shop... I was horrifed!! I told the girl I want to keep the thickness. I left with one high arched eyebrow, one low arched eyebrow, one short, one long, one thick and one thin!!! I got home and cried. I had to get a fringe cut into my hair to cover the horrendous brows :( I now go to Neelu's @ Arnotts Henry St, she's brilliant. I cant fault her. Its €18 for a threading but its well worth it. she's telling me where I need to grow etc. She also mentioned that I'm not the only mess she's had to clean up after this shop!!!! read more

Not a very good experience. The three stars are only for my eyebrows - they were perfectly done. So I recently made an appointment for 10 am & I was kept waiting until 10:15 for the place to open. There was only one lady in & she was constantly worried about the phone ringing nonstop & the other customers queuing up while i was half naked inside in the middle of getting waxed. First i started off with waxing my hands & legs. being of south asian origin, I've got thick growth of hair & the lady looking after me did not care to use the right technique of applying the wax in the direction of hair growth & pulling it against the direction of growth. it just felt like she wanted to get this done as quickly as possible n move on to her next client. at the end of this painful ordeal i noticed my legs & hands weren't smooth enough to be said they were waxed. it felt like a day after shaving ones legs. when i raised this with her, she immediately got a tweezer n started tweezing out the hair from my legs which were already in pain after that very unprofessional waxing session. Then i went on to get my underarms waxed. by this time there was another lady in who came in to wax my underarms who used two different types of waxes to wax each underarm, leaving one side really nice n smooth n the other side still with hair. the excuse she had for using two different types of wax and giving me this type of service was that the actual wax was not hot enough to be used for my first underarm so she had to use another type. After this bad service, they made sure i was fully charged for their services. Never going back again to wax !! read more

I've walkin today at 11:45am for a quick shampoo and hair cut because I realise my hair was a mess! I 'm 7 months pregnant and did not realise until the 31/12 that my head was in such a bad state. Bushra was very welcoming and understanding... she quickly saw I was not fussy and just want a quick haircut. She did not hesitate to put her lunch aside and told me she could help me even if it was 15 minutes before her next appointment! She did a great job with my long and dry hair... nice quick ( but no rush , she is very delicate) shampoo and amazing classy haircut. Her 12pm appointment arrived so she offered coffee and tea... and to finish the job after her appointment but I did not want a blow dry. So she gave me a price reduction and I was on my way very happy I decided to try Bushra today. She is brilliant , lay back and very courteous. I just LOVE my head!! I still ask myself how she did such a nice job in 15 minutes without stressing or rushing anything. Let's say she is a talented hairdresser and entrepreneur. I get my hair but at Bushra's Beauty Express in Mary Street, and find that they do a great job - for very little money. I have paid 6 times as much for a cut that was not nearly as good. I went To Bushra's Beauty Salon for a full body exfoliation. There was just one girl working there and she was very quiet and hard to understand. She asked did I want to include a facial as well for an extra €25, I said no. She brought me into the room and said what I thought was "take off all your clothes" but I can't be sure. I left my underwear on and lay on the table. She came in and started exfoliating my legs, she was extremely rough and severe. She then mumbled that she had to go out to thread someone's eyebrows. I was left in the room with no towel covering me and got very cold as i was uncovered and wet. I had to get a towel myself to keep me warm. The exfoliation cream started to dry in and it started to sting me and get very itchy. I was left there like this for 20 minutes. The beauty therapist came back in and continued with the treatment. She told me to turn over and I covered myself with a towel. It turned out that the face is included in this body exfoliation treatment, and I felt like she was trying to scam me by asking did I want to include a facial for an extra €25. She removed the towel when she was exfoliating my chest which was fine, but when she moved up to my face she left me exposed, so I had to cover myself. When removing the exfoliation cream with a hot towel she forgot to remove the cream from my entire chest and stomach area, armpits, back of the neck, and my nose. I wasn't even sure if the treatment was finished and as she was leaving the room she said "was that OK?" and I said I still have the cream all over me. She removed most of it but I still had to remove some after she had left. Luckily I had time to run home quickly and get a shower before I headed out. For the majority of the treatment I was uncomfortable, cold, and unsure of where the beauty therapist was going/when she was coming back. I thought this therapist was pretty unprofessional. I went to Bushra's Beauty Salon in Blackrock on 19 October, a day before my wedding to get shellac manicure and pedicure. I went there because it is near where I live and thought it is convenient since I also need to get some stuff at M&S across the road from Blackrock Shopping Centre. First incident was when my cuticle was pulled roughly to the point of bleeding. I requested for anticeptic cream. However, they dabbed some powder on my wound. I insisted on the anticeptic cream and they said I don't need it. I had to be very firm and they grudgingly gave me the anticeptic cream. After that, they did not clean my cuticles. I should have left then but I stayed. Bad decision. They filed my toe nails so hard and so short that my nail bed (where the nail and the skin meet) bleeds. I felt so uncomfortable when the nails were being filed but did not see the blood until after the shellac was applied. I was very upset. I paid and left. Went to Boots and bought Dettol so that I could soak my feet in antiseptic solution. The next morning, my wedding day, I had swelling toes and finger. Not only that, the shellac on two of my fingers was peeling. I went to another salon, The Nail Agency, asking for help to fix it. They did a great job. Within the next 3 days, all the shellac applied by Bushra peeled off, while the two nails shellac done by the Nail Agency stay put until today. Well done The Nail Agency. I will be going there from now on and will not be going back to Bushra. read more

never means never...for the eyebrow I went over thr despite of knowing that they are bad..who did my eyebrow..she is claiming that she have been working as beautician from last many many many years..one eyebrow she made longer and one was shorter...horrified...also she cut / trimmed extreme portion of the eyebrow..i told in 1st instance that I need thick and she mad so thin..also for manicure they use cheap quality of products...after a manicure i got itching sensation all the time..I would say Bushara's beautician is pathetic!!! read more

my life time experience happened to me in an amazing beauty salon none other than bushras beauty salon. the woman that plays the biggest hand in this is bushra her self a very talented woman full of suprises I never have experienced such comfort and loving atmosphere in each salon the staff are wonderful and have a great sence of care when your there and your greeted with a smile and left with a bigger one. bushra has to be one of the most independent woman you will ever meet she has spread her talent across the city. she has a variety of salons like to start of my favourite has to be stephens green a small but full of suprises salon. then mary mall salon the first ever bushras starting point then the amazing one blackrock and not to forget ballsbridge hotel.i would recommend this place to anyone who wants to be satisfied to the fullest. read more
