The Bushong Log Cabin is a more recent addition to the historic park the City of Grapevine has placed at 201 Main Street. It was recently placed on its new foundation and the fireplace completely redone.
It was built in approximately 1871 by George Emanuel Bushong and his wife Elizabeth Ann. It was originally built just a few hundred yards from where it currently stands. The Bushong's lived in it on their property where they also ran a Saw Mill, Flour Mill, and the town's very first Cotton Gin.
The park it is located in is open to the public and free from the generosity of the city of Grapevine. Definitely worth the trip if you are in the area. My young ones were fascinated to see how people lived. read more
