She recommended this home on Florinda Street in Pomona to do Joe a favor as they are friends. My husband has multiple sclerosis and has severe mobility issues. We moved from NC to get him better healthcare unaware of the anti black racism in housing in this area. Shortly after moving in,2 months, we were asked to relocate bc the owner wanted to sell the property. They even offered to pay moving expenses. Because we had just experienced a VERY stressful move,we declined. They however chose to have ppl coming in and out to see the property for about a month, which was very rude and inconvenient. We were advised we had to move when the years lease ended. Something we would never have agreed to. We have no help or family and friends here to help us. We recently moved and now they are withholding our deposit and took a 400 cleaning fee from it as well. We never used 2 of the bedrooms or completely unpacked bc we were asked to leave almost immediately. I was advised by Deanna Chavez to stay until this year (it was last June) until we could revisit the situation in May of this year. She chose to then tell us she had a family emergency and could not help us any longer. The undo stress has caused my husband's health to decline rapidly as stress exacerbates Multiple Sclerosis. At this time we have been advised we will not be given the proper prorated amount and that the owner can pay us back our money anytime he chooses within 21 days. Joe is very insincere and only cares about himself. He hides behind Christianity but has chosen to treat a handicapped person and his spouse with the utmost disrespect. He is misogynistic and doesn't respect women. My conversations with him were virtually ignored and I was given one word answers. I am obtaining legal counsel so if anyone knows anything about this situation please respond to this review. Joe and Deanna made this experience unbearable and were very dishonest about the property. Now our deposit is being held hostage and we were charged 400.00 just to have a stove cleaned, that was already clean. My husband is on disability so we need the money badly. We are in our 60's and this situation has severely impacted my mental health. The home had a broken outdoor screen leading into one of the bedrooms so I was constantly afraid of a break in bc it was in my opinion a not so nice street in Pomona also it was dirty and full of spiders & dust when we moved in, and no ventilation in the very hot kitchen. The home across the street is an eyesore as well as the property next door. Anyone who chooses to do business with these individuals please beware! They are NOT honest or kind people. No empathy and zero professionalism. If I could give him zero stars I would!!

The other 2 were just going to do what I asked - put a bunch of gravel and some plants with a drip system on my front yard - left side. The yard slants down some and the grass was too hard to maintain. It was pretty ugly looking. I've included some before and after pictures. I wanted one more quote. James suggested another approach. He said gravel next to our large driveway with a few plants would look to plain. He suggested some rock formations with ground covering and plants - and for about the same price as the others had quoted - in fact he was less than one of them. I'm glad I agreed to go with James and his team. I had seen his pictures on other reviews and they all looked nice. They removed all the grass, removed older outdated plants, hauled it all away. They put down weed cover, re-arranged and updated the sprinklers, added rock formations with various size rocks, then plants, and ground covering and then a quality mulch blend (not home depot stuff). James is really creative with his designs and takes pride in his work. The day they were finishing, we left several hours before they were done, for a couple days. James wanted to come back in the evening to see how things looked lit up (we decided to go with nice brass lighting fixtures). He came back at night, took pictures and texted them to me. We liked his work so much, we decided to have him do a whole lot more of our yard. And he recently came back and added some more nice upgrades for us. If you want a nice looking yard; something you can enjoy. I would highly recommend Jamescapes.

Dan Wesley and his team are the best!…read more My husband and I purchased a Craftsman in the Claremont Village, knowing it would be a fixer upper. Originally, there was a 3 bedroom 1 bath home (built in 1924) and a really horrible 1970s mother-in-law unit on the lot. We ended up tearing down the mother-in-law unit and building a substantial addition to the original Craftsman. Dan made the whole process seamless. We gave him a vague idea of what we wanted and he designed a beautiful addition that was 100 times better than anything we could have come up with ourselves. The architecture in the addition exactly matches the existing Craftsman...many people have remarked that they can't even tell that it is an addition. Dan knows exactly what the city will and will not approve. We did not have any trouble getting the necessary permits or acquiring approval from the planning commission. Dan and his team were clean and courteous. Our neighbors had zero complaints, which was very important to us. Dan uses very few subcontractors and those he does use are trusted colleagues he has worked with for years. We were extremely happy with Sean Simington (Simington Paint Company) and Jay and Paul Mace (Mace Tile). All subcontractors were easy to work with and very professional. Dan's estimate for the building cost was spot on. We went over budget, but that was our fault because we ended up picking more expensive fixtures than we had originally anticipated. Throughout the entire process, Dan remained readily available. He was easy to contact and always had a smile on his face. You can trust that he will make good on his promises. He was overall a joy to work with and we will definitely use him again.
