I've been going to Burrows Internal Medicine for many years. I have some chronic conditions that they help me with. The first 3 or 4 times I went in for appointments I was seen by Dr. Burrows. Since then I see his PA's most of the time. They are very knowledgeable and personable. I know if I really want to, I can make an appointment to see Dr. Burrows but I don't really see the need to unless I really think I have something crazy going on. The office staff is kind and personable. I get colds/flu often. When I need to go in and have it checked out, if I call when they open they can fit me in that day. It's fantastic! They either make space for you to visit or they purposely leave some appointments available open for patients like me. They call when it is time to schedule my preventative care/wellness visits. For someone like me, I forget unless they remind me. They also call and send text messages to confirm appointments. read more

Booked appointment for annual physical in June and received call postponing for 21 days since Dr. Burrows was away. Then another change rescheduling for July 31. Today, July 30 I receive a call canceling appointment because Dr. Burrows no longer accepts Devoted Health, a Medicare Advantage plan. Dr. Burrows cannot even run an effective appointment scheduling so I would not trust his medical advice. PATHETIC! read more

This doctor office is just awful. They schedule appointments you never made and charge the insurance company when you don't show up to the appointment you never made and charge total frauds. I really dislike doctors who don't listen to their patients. Especially when I've dealt with my particular diagnosis for half my life. I get that you have a PHD, but I've lived in my body 45 years & have undergone countless treatments, doctors & options; therefore am entirely certain that my opinion about my healthcare should be heard & not so easily dismissed. I can't trust a doctor with managing my medical health if they're not on the same team WITH ME. Dr. Togliatti has seen my records, she saw what previous meds & dosages I've been on. So I'm unsure why she's decided to take me back 20 years to the beginning of treatment like I'm brand new to thyroid issues. I'm not a doctor but I'm smart enough to know what my labs mean. And she may have a decade of education and experience with the general public on a general level of knowledge. But I know my own body for longer than she has. I find it highly unprofessional when you've got to argue with a physician about how your own body works. A good doctor knows everyone reacts differently to different forms of treatment. Medicine isn't a "one size fits all" thing. She may have plenty of patients, so won't miss me leaving her patient list. But I also have plenty of doctors to choose to trust with my health that I don't feel like I'm having to convince of my lab results that are literally self explanatory. I'm also not happy that she never bothered to call me to go over those lab results. Especially since my TSH levels are still WAY off. So calling me in the same prescription dosage is comparable to insanity: when you continue to repeat the same action, yet expect a different result. read more

Went in May 2025 to establish care and get a prescription renewed. Was $250 out of pocket even with insurance (in network) for the general checkup. Was supposed to be refilled last week, but it was not because the provider left Burrows 15 days ago, now they want me to come back in for another checkup and establish care with a new provider, pay another few hundred dollars, and get yet another refill prescription that was supposed to last one full year (i shouldn't have to pay more because a doctor left their office). And now they will not honor my prescription refill that i went in for 2 months ago, which i did intentionally ahead of time to avoid missing medication but now i am physically paying for it. They also told me the checkup without insurance they told me would be ~$160. Imagine that. Cheaper if you don't have any insurance. read more

****Update*****So after it took posting a negative to finally get this doctors office to call me back about this missing test. They attempted to make it right. Amy submitted a request for testing informing I was not to be billed for the test due to the errors. I was able to go back and get my testing completed. Here we are in December all of this originated back in August and they finally got back to me in October. I received a bill! And when I called the office which I was instructed to do, I was basically informed that since Amy no longer works there it is now my problem to deal with. They could see those commitments in my notes, and everything, even confirmed that it was there but it is still my problem to deal with....If this was going to be the case I wouldn't have gone and got this testing done in the first place! I will not be returning to this provider for any future services. Oct 2024: I have had three visits in the last year with this office and the first two went swimmingly. It is unfortunate that more recently my experience has become so negative. I went in about a month ago for my routine physical a little over a month ago, my main provider wasn't available and I had no choice due to insurance circumstances but to see another provider. I was one of the last appointments on a Friday and definitely felt rushed (I attribute this however to corporate healthcare shortening patient visits so they can bill as much as possible in a day instead of what healthcare should be about which is the health and well being of the patients. I know this to be true especially of OnPoint Medical Group). I was called back about 15 mins into my scheduled appointment time, in which it took the NP I was seeing an additional 15 mins to come to the room after the MA got the vitals. I had also pre-informed them before my visit that we would be doing blood work for standard testing I wished to receive, after waiting an additional 15 mins after the NP left the room, I was informed that the phlebotomists had left for the day and I would need to come back or go to a LabCorp to get my testing done, to which I agreed and left. The next Monday I called in requesting that they add an additional request to the testing before I go and get my blood drawn, this in itself took multiple calls and what felt like a battle to get added, which the came after 5 PM that Tuesday and I was told it was added. I went in that Wednesday to get the blood work done and asked the nurse pulling if they saw the additional request and she said yes. My results came in same week, but they were missing the requested test, I learned that it could sometimes take up to two weeks to receive these results and so I waited, nothing came, its now been a month. I emailed LabCorp to find out why it was missing and they notified me Burrows had not added the request to the testing. So I called last Thursday 9/26/2024 to find out what we could do to rectify the situation, I have been very polite and patient. I was told that I would get a call before the end of the day. As of this morning 9/30/2024 I have not received a call back, so I called again, I was then put on hold for about 15 mins, when a new person picked up the phone and asked how they could help as if I was a new patient calling in, she also came across as rude and abrasive as if I was wasting her time. I informed her someone was helping me I think and I had been waiting on hold, she put me back on hold to which after waiting another ten minutes I was transferred to someone's voicemail. I don't know who the person was, it wasn't the NP I had been seeing nor the NP I saw the day of my physical, and more importantly, no one came back on the line to tell me who they were transferring me to. I left a voicemail with the basics and my contact info and have yet to receive a call back. I am not understanding why this experience as opposed to my first two visits had been so challenging, and why no one at this office seems to be able to follow through and follow up? read more

Where do I start? I wanted to like Dr. Burrows's office. He seems like a nice guy? But the office practice is where I have my issue. First go round. There was some weird stuff going on with insurance. Insurance being charged for some thing that wasn't done/authorized. That just was oh we can do all these extra tests and you will get a bill but you don't have to pay? Well, I was billed and they were telling me I had to pay. Not the doctors office but the diagnostic office. Huge hassle lots of credits for future doctors office visits. I would regularly come in for my annual check up, but it took about seven years to be able to see the doctor again it was always physicians assistant's. I would be out of meds the pharmacy said I had to call the doctors office? Upon calling the office they would blackmail me into making a appointment before they would fill the prescription? I told the office manager and the doctor that that was very unprofessional. Fast forward another year. Super concerned passed out, sweating profusely, pale, serious heart attack concerns. After being rushed to the hospital and then told I need to see a cardiologist Burrows internal medicine said I need to come down to their office in order to get the referral? I said you have to be kidding me? That was the last straw they were fired. You will be much happier at a different office. I was like the frog in boiling water. I couldn't see how bad it was until after I got out. read more

The office staff (Anthony) was extremely rude, argumentative, impatient, kept putting me on hold, continued to interrupt and would not allow me to explain my needs. I've never been treated so poorly. There is a need for office staff sensitivity training as seniors deserve to be treated with respect and kindness. Remember you will be a senior citizen someday. I've been going to this clinic for over 10 years and there's been too many turnovers of medical staff creating inconsistency with medical history and needs. Paul Schmidt is an incredible PA. However, the office staff and operation overall has caused me to go elsewhere. I was misdiagnosed and mistreated by another PA, resulting in terrible pain for three months. They made no attempt to address the problem or get it right. It was not until I went to another provider that I received the treatment I needed and had the issue addressed. They don't answer the phone, they don't respond to portal messages, and they allow you to simply slip through the cracks. It's like communication stops at the front desk, and never gets to the physician. I've never seen or met Dr. Burrows, I get the impression he is mostly retired but his name is still on the practice. No one is running the ship, and it's a shame. read more

This is a great doctor's office if you're looking for a place where you can entrust your medical care to a physician's assistant and never actually see or talk to a real-life physician. I got an annual physical here, and the PA simply went through the motions and offered no real advice about any of the issues I reported--all she did was refer me out to other medical providers for all of the issues I reported. Despite repeated calls back to the office to talk to the actual physician about my issues, I only ever received responses from the office manager and, after several tries, the same PA. If you want even the semblance of personal care and service, avoid this place. read more

Also they did get my daughter in to see a PA within 2 days of her call. She loved this practitioner. Those that make appointments in the front office at times have much to be desired. If you have insurance through one of the major insurers his name is at the top of the list. Reason being he gives them the best rates. The reason he gives them the best rates is he needs patients. In a time where it's hard to find medical care due to crowding that seems strange, right? It's a reflection of how bad this practice really is. I'm surprised to see 3 stars. That has to be through luck of the draw for some patients or more likely planted reviews. The main story is they aren't really concerned. If you decide to go with them be prepared to deal with childishness in the reception, perpetual staff turnover, lack of regard for your needs, frustrating phone wait times, a patient portal that is neglected, and long waits for call backs. Most concerning is that you will most likely never see the Dr. You will get a P.A. or an N.P. And they change often. read more

This is my family's primary physician, and he is the BOMB!! His office staff is always very friendly, and if you have something urgent, they are great about getting you in as soon as possible. Dr. Burrows is a very knowledgable, cool guy. He takes time to answer all questions, and never makes you feel rushed or stupid. This place will try to charge you extra money for everything they possibly can. At my last yearly physical I was handed an iPad for "depression screening" at the end of my appointment. A month later I received a bill for a second office visit from the same day. When I called to question this, I was told I was charged the second visit for the ipad screening that I did not ask for, nor was I told would cost extra. I disputed the charge and the woman I spoke with told me they should be telling patients that is extra but that they currently do not. I have been a patient at this practice for 2 years and have not once met Dr. Burrows. If ran a practice I'd feel obligated to at least meet all my patients from time to time. Stay far away from this place. They only want your money. read more

My dad has seen Dr. Burrows for 3 years. Dr. Burrows is always so nice and patient with him.

I decided to go with Dr. Burrows as he is close to our home. Upon meeting him, I wasn't impressed. He appeared more like he belongs at a nightclub in Breckenridge than a doctors office. I ignored this first impression and went back to see him on several occasions. As it turns out, I should have listened to my first impression. The visits I've had with him were brief and with minimal assistance. I've left his office wondering what was actually done. I got the impression that he passed along every bit of work to his front office staff. Most recently, my visit with Dr. Burrows was for multiple injuries incurred from a bad accident & consequently some insurance paperwork to navigate through. He literally spent less than 2 minutes with me, patted me on the back and promised he'd help get me back to work as quickly as possible. My employer required insurance paperwork which he and his office staff did not want to fill out. After asking repeatedly for help, he reluctantly filled out the paperwork partially or incorrectly. I went back to his office at least 5 times, requesting the paperwork be filled out correctly. Eventually his staff informed me that Dr. Burrows doesn't like doing disability paperwork, leaving me hanging and having to start this process all over again. My impression is that Dr Burrows' office staff is not treated or paid well. They seem apathetic and not very impressed with him. He is frequently out of office and hasn't once returned a phone call. I would highly recommend that you take your business to any other doctor's office than this one. read more

If I could give negative or zero stars I would. I can't speak for Dr Burrows but his PA misdiagnosed me and it could have cost me my life. Even after I displayed nearly every symptom of what I had. I inquired if I had it and I was dismissed. While his PA was nice the failure to listen and accurately diagnose or seek additional help from the Dr. nearly cost me my life. I could have passed away from the exact thing I questioned the PA about. I will not see a PA unless it's for a minor cold. In Dr Burrows defense he did call and apologize for it. They still charged my insurance for the poor diagnosis though. Then his office tried to schedule a two week follow up visit after my ER visit. At least that made me chuckle. As for the other poster. Dr. Burrow's is probably the best doctor I've ever had and I'm glad I found him when I moved back to Colorado several years ago. Extremely smart, relatable and very laid back - his office returns calls asap, they are very on top of things. What actually prompted me to yelp them now.... I showed up thinking I had an appt. and had the date/time TOTALLY wrong (blond moment of MY week) and one of their newer doctors (Dr. Paul Schmidt) still saw me and there was no rushing me and my blondness. Ha! To that end, I am just as comfortable w/ Dr. Schmidt as I am with the other newer Dr. Falbo. Feel good about this primary care physician's office and would highly recommend them. read more

Dr. Burrows and his employed staff are by far the best physicians possibly in all of Colorado. I have been there now multiple times and always leave with a smile even if I feel like crap. I always feel cared for and that I'm not just a number on a list of patients they need to get through the door. They listen and they truly care about the well being of their patients. They're also very thorough and make sure they take the time to explain everything you have questions about without any grumbling. Bottom line is that they're just awesome. read more

I have been a patient here for about 4 years and have seen a PA for all my visits, which hasn't been a problem for me. In February during my annual physical, he noted a small heart murmur and referred me to a place to have an EKG performed. I did the EKG (all was fine) and about a month ago, I received a bill for $1600 out of pocket due to co-pay and deductible. When I called insurance company to find out why so high, they said it was so expensive because I was referred to a hospital instead of an independent diagnostic center where the deductible would have only been around $200. When I called Burrows back, they said it's on me to make sure I understand what the cost would be. I told them it seemed to me they should know this and should have referred me (and anyone) to an IDC, ie the cheaper option. They didn't own this and just told me they were sorry I was disappointed. I'm more than disappointed, and this may be enough for me to stop going there as I don't think they really care about helping their patients to receive cheaper options for referral care. read more

Last 3 times I've needed an appt they had nothing available so I went to local urgent care. Today they cancelled my appt , had office locked w a sign that said, "closed for technical emergency." Seek other medical assistance. Office staff is impersonal when you must make a visit. All phone calls are routed directly to recording, with no return call for any reason. Prescriptions that require medical approval for refill go for days and (as of today) one week and counting... Horrible follow up service. My review is real similar to the one written by Mulcher S. I was a patient of this office of close to 3 years. I think I only actually saw Dr. Burrows one time, but there were plenty of pictures of him and his family on fancy vacations all over the office walls. I came in twice in early spring 2014 with severe core pain caused by lifting at work. The PA diagnosed it as a muscle pull and sent me home with muscle relaxants. No improvement, went back two weeks later. Same story. I should also note that Paul would never do a testicle check. He would end the check up by saying "you're a guy, everything is all right down there". The pain eventually subsided, but never completely went away. I thought fine muscle pull. In January 2015 during a routine physical, he tried the same line. Pointing to my crotch and saying "you're a guy everything's all right down there". This time I said no. If there is something you need to check for, you had better do it. (I'm thinking testicular cancer). Right off the bat, he finds a hernia. I say do you think this is what all my pain was 8 months ago. He says yes. Now I get to go into HR and say I hurt myself on your clock 8 months ago. What a nightmare. If you have any other choice for a family physician, I'd say you should take it. read more

I agree with all the one stars. The Staff is rude and uncaring. It's a shame because Dr. Burrows is a great doctor with lots of personality. That he is unaware of how his staff is performing is doubtful. Unfortunately you only see him once, which is your first visit. After that you are pawned off to his PA and NP. His PA is rude, his NP is so full of herself - thinks she knows it all. She never calls you with results your tests, even though she says she will. You are in limbo. read more

I've been a patient since 2003. It's been 4 or 5 years since I've actually seen Dr. B in the office or had an appointment with him. I treat with Paul Schmidt as much as possible, he's great. The other PA's rapidly rotate through the practice and don't seem to last long at all. My biggest issue is when I need refills. It took 6 weeks for someone to send a prescription to a mail order place required by my insurance despite my repeated calls. They apologized for being too busy. When the local pharmacy calls for a refill, it can take days. I'm currently going through a holiday without my medications because they didn't respond to the pharmacy in time even though I always call after I know the pharmacy has called to try to push things long. I've also had problems with them running the wrong blood tests and having to go back and get drawn again. They cover the cost, but not the inconvenience. I've signed up for Kaiser. Again, Paul Schmidt is very thorough and gives great care, but the rest of the hassles are not ok. read more
