We are relatively new to the area and decided to try this place out. We were familiar with Qdoba and Chipotle so we thought we would see how this local version compared. They did not disappoint. Ehh. Not bad. The food tastes well, it's a lot like a chipotle set up. Where the food is pre cooked and sitting inside keep warm containers, and you tell them what you want. It's good enough when you're in a hurry and need a bite to eat. The hot sauce here sucks tho. This place gets 2 stars because they have beer.. I am positive you will never see Mexican people eating here because it's kind of a Mexican themed Chipotle.. They don't have carnitas or el pastor and cabbage is for fish tacos duh.. The food is overpriced and not warm.. Small tacos should never cost over 3 bucks.. Good selection of hot sauces in bottles but that doesn't make the food any better.. Not sure why this place has 4 star reviews other than the fact that Redding folks must like strange versions of Mexican food.. I will never go back.. Do your selves a favor and skip this place and I wouldn't suggest the better version called Chipotle either unless you care to watch a teenager count out a couple tiny pieces of meat into your taco shell.. This was my favorite place to get food. I'm a regular customer. I don't ask for extra meat extra cheese and not pay for it. I was told extra vegetables. Were no charge. However I'm not against paying extra. But when I'm asking for a little extra more vegetables. And I always order pretty much the same stuff with extra vegetables. I get a little extra sprinkles of vegetables. And I asked for tortillas on the side. Because they get soft. By the time I eat my lunch. As that I am only able to order food on my break. And have my lunch and hour later. And I asked them please put the regular amount of meat and cheese that you would. With a little extra vegetables. And they get told. Did they cannot do that. On a taco. That they have to charge me. The price of a Barito bowl. I would send you the picture. If I were able to. Not cool. When my orders done. They are still able to fold it up in the foil. I do ask if they can put it in a Styrofoam container. As that it is easier for me to eat. When it's time for my lunch. Like I said. I always coming in. And have been accommodated. Without question. And treated with great service. And have think the whole crew. The last week. However I have I have been told. That they are no longer able to do this for me. And that I am only told that I am only allowed to have two salsas. Per taco. But I have not been told about any extra charge for extra sauces. However if I eat in the restaurant. Had to get a tire change and there was a long wait so we wanted to get some quick food. Walked in and employees looked up, didnt greet us or even say how can I help. We ended up going to see if any other places were around but wound up back here. Again, no greeting. Walked up to the counter to start ordering and they told us to go to the other counter to get started. Employees weren't helpful and were rude. Even saw them laughing after asking for Sour Cream and Avo on the side. Later on saw and employee on his phone while cooking and while we were eating another customer came in and they didn't make a single peep, even after the customer said "Hello" and got no response. Wouldn't recommend to anyone and would rather drive out of my way to the airport road one. Food wasn't all that great either. Let me start by saying I have been to this new burrito bandito location numerous times and I always get the same thing. Normally I am greeted and order my food no problem and it turns out amazing but today was not at all like my previous experiences. I don't know if the person that helped me was having a bad day already or if my order just pissed him off but from the minute he asked me what I would be ordering he had an insane attitude problem. I ordered 2 quesadillas. And like I always do in the past i add beans to them. So that ALREADY was a problem for him. Like I said I've been here a number of times and it's never been a problem. He then just kind of quickly threw them together while asking me what else I wanted. When it was time to cook them he placed them in and when they came out instead of using the spatulas; the worker decided to use his hands and because it was hot... He just threw it in the counter in a rush to get it out of his hands. Consequently, the whole bottom of one of the quesadilla ripped and it began to fall apart and the other had the entire filling coming out of it but that one wasn't ripped so he deemed it okay. He seemed agitated at this point and states "the whole bottom of this is disintegrating, I don't know what you want me to do I can make another one." But me not wanting to be rude or have it go to waste tried to recommend just placing it on another tortilla but I guess it would have fallen apart. So he makes a new one... Thanks for that. I would have been happy except when I got home to eat my food the entire thing was a giant mess in the boxes and he only put cheese on one side so the whole damn thing is falling apart and the top tortilla is displaced due to the fact that there is no cheese holding it to the filling of the quesadilla. I understand if you're having a bad day, but you're at work, try not to let it show through so much to your customers and if you can't do so ask another co worker to take over. I really like to eat here when I'm feeling like Mexican food. I usually get the bowl with chicken. Sometimes tacos. All their meat options are good. They have really big portions. I don't prefer their burritos because the way they make them creates a layered effect when you eat them so you don't get a bite of everything. But one thing to mention is about the salsas they make, those are really good and they keep them on ice. Everytime my bf and I would eat here he would try the different ones in the opened bottles. I wouldn't recommend it because we figured out that was why he felt sick after eating it everytime. So steer clear of the opened bottles out that aren't refrigerated. I've been to this location many times, and when you go inside service has always been ok. Food is meh, like everyone else says it's not traditional Mexican but it's quick. I've opted to order online and pay ahead to have a quick pickup during my lunch hour. This process involves going through a drive-through. I was told my order would be ready at 12:25, was asked to go to back of the line when it wasn't ready at 12:35, I was already going to be late going back to work. Opted to park in front instead of being stuck in a line. Food didn't come out until 12:50. Employee didn't seem too apologetic, it was their rush/lunch hour so maybe that's normal?? I honestly wouldn't recommend if you're in a hurry, and if you're not, then just go to an actual Mexican restaurant, Redding has plenty of great ones! Overall very excited to eat at this new location. It's nice to have a drive thru Mexican restaurant nearby. I got a green pork soft taco and a Dos Equis for 7.00+ tax. Pretty tasty. Now for the nitpicking. The only menu that can be seen is right when you walk in and its 14 feet in the air. I'd suggest a smaller menu close to where you order. Saturday at lunch had 8-9 employees of which 2-3 seemed to be invisible managers hanging out in the back.They all seem to have been trained in standard food handling. Only one person had any type of cap on and they all constantly bend of your food cooking and preparing it.The food is kept in warming trays and tends to get soupy which makes your tortilla explode in your hand.
