Alex & Emory were very friendly and made me feel welcome. I belong to a Pheasant Hunt Club in Colorado but living in Georgia makes that a very long drive. Since I live in Suwanee, this was only a short 1 hour drive. I hunted alone and was well pleased with Etowah Valley. I got 5 Pheasants in less than 2 hours. I plan to make this trip again and hope to have a couple of my hunting buddies to join on my next adventure there.

We typically do 3 foursomes with guides/dogs for the morning with 48-50 quail per group plus 12 chukkar to add value! Following a catered BBQ lunch, we do the British Pheasant Shoot in the afternoon, making for a great "combo" kind of day! The guides are personable, fun, and have good dogs. (not perfect, whose are?) Alex's crew and staff make the day better as we've got to know them over the years. Great for us as we can sleep in our own beds but "get away for the day" within driving distance! Our first trip we stayed at their Lodge in Wrightsville in July of 2021 and was guided by Dustin and Will. Both were consummate professionals offering hospitality at the level that made us feel instantly at home. 2/3 of us killed hogs on this trip and the guides had us on hogs from the get-go. Their skill at skinning and being flexible about which cuts we wanted and how to cut up the pigs was top-notch. The second trip was to their Plantation House location and rose to the bar set by our first experience with this outfitter. Blaine, Jerry, and Curt were excellent hosts and guides providing an authentic hunting camp experience. From transparency and flexibility about hunting locations, sharing trail cam footage and general knowledge, giving us a tour of Blaine's extensive Native American artifacts, to sitting around shooting the bull made us feel as though we were amongst friends the entire time. The atmosphere is exactly what we were hoping for and what I've read people are searching for in reviews of other outfitters. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the office staff as well, specifically Melanie. She was a dream to work with explaining all the different pricing structures and offering packages that were wallet friendly. She stayed in touch just enough before our hunt to keep us feeling confident about our upcoming trip. She was also understanding and helpful when we had unforeseen changes in our party size. If you're looking for an authentic hog hunting experience with the comforts of home in a deer camp setting with friendly and knowledgeable people invested in your successful hunt then you don't need to look any farther than Woods and Water.
