If I'm going to be honest about Burns, I would 100% not recommend this business!!!
If I could give them ZERO stars, I would!
Mine and my Uncle's next door neighbor hired the same survey company (Burns) a few weeks ago that the prior owners before them hired a year ago. The next door neighbors wanted to install a fence around their property. When the company showed up, they immediately were on my Uncle's property digging and what not. I suppose they were trying to find the original property pins. (Apparently the time they came out for the previous owners, they were unable to find the pins). Upon seeing this, my Uncle went to converse with them to ask what they were doing. After talking back and forth off and on most of the day between my Uncle, the neighbors, and the land survey company, he found out that the company couldn't locate the original pins like before so they decided to make up their own minds and give approximately four feet of my Uncle's land to the neighbor! BUT, the land surveyor advised the neighbor NOT to start building until the two properties settled or my Uncle was able to find 100% proof that the four feet of land belonged to him.
Approximately a week later, the neighbors started to build said fence... what a ghetto style fence at that!. My Uncle called the Sheriff's department. An officer called him back later and said he could one, come out and tell them they have to stop building, or two... let them build it and when my Uncle proves the land has been stolen, they will legally be forced to remove it. He suggested option two to my Uncle since it is a civil dispute.
I know this isn't a review regarding our neighbors, but I feel I needed to explain a little about what is going on so people can SEE how unprofessional this company is in the first place!
ONE: They NEVER should have "given" my Uncle's land to our neighbors.
TWO: IF they were a legit company, they would fear a LAWSUIT and would have offered a solution for both the neighbor and my uncle. (After my Uncle talked to them, the neighbors were undecided, but were leaning toward what my Uncle claimed was his land....
THREE:
WHY wouldn't the survey company listen to my uncle (who had owned this property for 34 years) when he told them exactly where the property line existed.
Needless to say... My Uncle dished out the $800 to hire his own survey company ($800 he does NOT have but he NEEDS to save the property that's been in his family for over THIRTY years!). My Uncle's survey company did their survey for a few hours. Not shockingly, they found the original pins right away!!! They put their own steaks & ribbons into the ground marking the original pins, which sadly hasn't stopped the neighbors from building... My point... it is super sad that any business would cause such a civil disagreement between two peaceful neighbors! I almost hate the fact that these neighbors will eventually have to pay the cost to tear said fence down and rebuild it on THEIR land! think hard before you hire this company!!! read more
