Any questions there is always a friendly staff member to steer you in the right direction. Tent sites, RV sites, cabins, and even a yurt, your choice. My 2 favorite sites are 69 and 74 with 74 over looking the lake. All sites are clean. Landscape very well maintained. Pool is excellent. Laundry room, dish washing area, rec center. Outside chess board, fishing, paddle boats and kayaks. I highly recommend this campground. Great place to camp with kids also. Right down the road from santas villiage amusement park.

Located a…read morecouple hours north of Nashua and Manchester it's the perfect place to getaway without being too far from home. Everything about this campground shows that the owners take great pride in it. They have online bookings, text communications (including reservation and quiet time reminders) and they have recently added a checkin booth so you don't have to hop out of your vehicle to go into the office to register. The views of the lake are gorgeous (especially in the Fall) and the landscaping is well maintained. There are several amenities like a pool w/ water slides, dog park, beach, fishing dock, dog swimming dock, paddle boat/kayak rentals, playground and oversized chess/checkers. You can also order homemade muffins to pick up in the morning for breakfast. Their campground store is also one of the cleanest and most well stocked ones that I've ever seen. The prices were also very reasonable (although I really wanted a hoodie as a memento and $40 was just a little more than I was comfortable spending). The biggest negative of this campground is that if you have one of the sites near the front there is quite a bit of road noise. That kills a bit of the ambiance while trying to kick back and relax but the beautiful views from the sites near the front mostly make up for the sounds of loud vehicles passing by. It's also not enough of a nuisance to rate them any lower than 5 stars. In addition to regular camping sites they also offer yurt and cabin rentals which is a nice option for people who don't own camping gear or aren't fans of traditional camping. If you're looking for a lovely place to get away Mountain Lake Camping Resort is an excellent choice!

This was one of the few all season campgrounds we found in the area last minute and we able to book a tent site over the phone. On arrival we were greeted by Mr. Sykes who was very friendly and straightforward. We got a map of the campsite and got to choose our own. Firewood was $14, make sure to bring a hatchet to cut wood to smaller pieces to start your fire. Campsites were on one side and trailers/RVs across a small dirt road. The sites are fairly close together but since there was only one other person camping we had plenty of privacy. The sites all had a stone fire pit and a picnic bench. The trails behind the campsite appear to be snowmobiling trails, they don't extend very far, would probably recommend finding other local trails to do. It's a campsite so I don't expect fancy bathrooms but the big thing (which I saw in other reviews before booking and took with a grain of salt) was that the showers were pretty dirty. The building smelled bad and there were no towels or anything to dry one's hands which is not a big deal to me, but the showers should probably get cleaned at least once a day. There were two stalls on the women's side, one had a lot of caked up grime and the other also features someone's hair and other little bits of debris. We just opted to skip showering but if you plan to, bring shower flip flops! Overall this campsite had what we needed to enjoy some time away and the owner was easy going and nice to interact with.

Every morning we'd wake up to them doing their rounds and maintaining the sites. They were all very kind to us and our dog. Overall the KOA is impressive. Lovely tent camping sites, a beautiful well maintained field for kids to play and clean facilities all around. When it comes to our site, we were disappointed. We were in site 18 which when parking to give ourselves a place to hangout next to the fire pit put us basically right on top of our neighbor. (Check out the pictures - the only view we had from our window was their camper) Our hangout spot near the fire pit was right next to our other neighbors so it basically felt like we were all hanging out together. The worst part for us was the highway right through the trees is highly trafficked at all hours of the day and night. Yes we heard tractor trailers at 3 am. It was so loud from traffic at times we couldn't hear each other speaking. This area of the KOA made us feel like we were at a rest stop on the side of the highway instead of in the beautiful wilderness camping. We would certainly return but without a doubt would need to upgrade to the much more beautiful spacious sites in the back. If you plan to camp in an RV spot we recommend you do the same!

We rented one of the larger campers and it worked out great for us. They have a small general store where you check-in that has hot coffee, icees, different drinks and alchoholic drinks and some swag to buy. They have lots of activities for kids to do in the late afternoon/early evening, a nice playground, volley ball nets, basketball court, arcade and hay rides. The place felt very safe and all of the kids were riding their bikes and scooters all around the camp area and laughing and playing together. Our particular camper was OK. I would not call it a luxury unless you are comparing it to an actual tent. The reason being that the AC did not work - it barely cooled off the small space and did not reach to the upper bedroom and the beds were like sleeping on plywood. I did speak to the desk about the beds and was told they hadn't gotten into that particular unit yet to add in mattress toppers. Having the outdoor kitchen area was great and the small fridge is perfect to store any sodas or beverages you bring that don't need to take up room in the inside small fridge. The major complaint about the camper is that they had scented plugins in every single outlet and even some free standing ones all over the place - it made the fake smell unbearable for the first day. While we were there it was water weekend and we were able to go to Santa's Village one night with just the others from the campground which was so much fun! We will definitely be back.

One pool was out of service due to recent flooding so the other pool was packed all the time. The store employees were again nice and helpful. Our site's septic was uphill making emptying near impossible. There was an odor in the area. Almost like a wet stale smell. We also had a mouse or mice running around our site. Around 8pm the employees were driving these motorized golf cart. There were three of them, all appeared to be doing laps for no apparent reason. The cart being driven but the female employee was operated in a safe slow manner. The other two, operated by two younger males, were being driven a lot faster. Felt like they racing each other. One would drive down the road weaving back and forth. I think he was trying to miss the uneven ruts in the road but slowing down would have achieved the same thing. The slamming of the dumpster lids after 8pm by the employees was annoying. Everyone was sitting around their fires and the slamming noise was just uncalled for. Probably will try a different place next year.

We woke up to a ghost town, but we welcomed the peace and quiet. We weren't able to find the campsite host when we first arrived, but we parked at the site we reserved and noticed our name was posted on the sign for the dates we would stay. Later on we saw the host drive around on a golf cart - she waved as she drove by. So we didn't need to formally check in which was excellent. Keep in mind that the bathrooms are basically outhouses, so nothing too glamorous. There are also a number of dumpsters on site. They do have a water you can pump, but I don't know how drinkable it is. It's probably fine, but bring a 2gallon water jug to be totally safe and care free. Campsite 8 is one of the many handicapped approved spots. Some of the nonhandicapped spots for tents only were a bit more further back to help create a more isolated experience. Definitely aim for those if you can snag one. They don't sell wood at the site, but Foster's Crossroads down the road sells a bag of wood for about 5 bucks, so check there if you need some. One bag is probably 3 hours worth of fire. For hikers, the Sugarloaf trail is nearby to offer folks a half day hike! I think the whole loop is about 4 miles, so it's moderate in difficulty. We didn't end up going on it this time, but the fact it's there will offer hikers something to do during the daylight hours. Give this site a shot if you don't mind staying somewhere without all the bells and whistles! Can't say how it is on a weekend night, but I can't imagine it's that much different.

When we noticed an opening, we asked nearby drivers if we could squeeze in, and they had no issue with it. As we were parking, an employee approached us in a very aggressive and unprofessional manner and told us we could not park there. We apologized and explained that we were not from the area and had not seen any signs. We were told that the rule was "well known to locals" and that a sign existed at the front of the line--more than 25 cars ahead, making it impossible for us to see. Despite the surrounding drivers having no objection, the employee demanded we leave and became increasingly hostile when we asked questions or requested a manager. At that point, the interaction escalated unnecessarily, and we decided it wasn't worth the confrontation and left. I've never experienced such a level of rudeness from a staff member over an honest misunderstanding. Clear signage and more professional communication would have avoided the entire situation. Someone even yelled out "stop being a parking nazi". I would have otherwise liked to review the venue itself, but we were unable to do so as we never made it inside.

Anyways, this place has my entire heart and I only share it with people I trust. I took my friend here for a weekend getaway of rustic camping and hiking last April and I can safely say she also fell in love. We ran up and down I-93, I showed her the remnants of the Old Man, we stopped by the lake (lord it was cold), then we went to the Basin - beautiful in ALL seasons - and hiked a trail on-site. God I love Franconia so much. If you haven't gotten the chance to visit please make it a priority. It's stunning in all seasons! Things to know: -you can access The Basin from either side of 93. If on the far side you just need to cross under the overpass. -The Basin is paved. There are some stairs to get a closer look but it is largely accessible to view. -Still snow in some sections in late April - you're ok without spikes imo -parking was still free as of last year
