He was always there to listen and offer suggestions during the planning process. The funeral home itself was easily accessible with plenty of safe parking, very clean and well maintained. Lew, I, as well as my entire family, can't thank you and everyone at Darrow enough for ensuring that everything was perfect for my mom's services.

The guest sign in book was out of the way (after viewing the coffin) I think the funeral home should have had a sign with the deceased name -birthdate and passing date etc - at the entrance. On the plus side -it seemed pretty clean. No weird smells. A water dispenser and plenty of tissues. All of the prayer cards were laminated, which was a plus. The funeral home I used most recently, near my home, only gave us 20 laminated cards.

This was devastating to say the least. John and his staff handled everything with dignity, respect, sensitivity, compassion and ease needed in the difficult area of death. We never felt rushed, pressured and John took his time with us and explained everything in clear detail. A very honest man. Unfortunately, I lost my brother suddenly last week. We are trying to make arrangements from out of state which meant we needed to manage our affairs over the phone. In our case, it was more complicated since the family member who passed away requested cremation and to be buried in a completely different state. Every conversation each of us had with the funeral home was absolutely respectful and pleasant. Most of my experience was with Lew Darrow in Poughkeepsie, but Kayleen was also very helpful. Lew made several calls to third parties to assist in minimizing stress for us. He was even willing to drive to the train station to meet our cousin who was coming from Long Island so he wouldn't have to be inconvenienced to get a cab to the funeral home and return back to the train station (although they offered to ship if we wanted). Excellent Customer Service is putting it mildly, as each call was taken with a true sense of care and consideration. We are very appreciative to them for making this a smooth process during such a difficult time.

There's a parking lot on site and additional overflow parking across the street. The staff is extremely respectful and sensitive. I don't know how they do it, but the service that is provided to the grieving families is thoughtful and professional. We used Humiston's for my own parents separate funerals. We trusted them with the care we needed, and the respect that was earned. How do you place a value on a service like that? I think the value is in laying to rest those who mean a lot to us in a thoughtful and respectful way there is tremendous value in that.
