This business is shady in terms of contracts. I bought a Groupon of 3 sessions of lipo laser for $179 with a supposed value of $750, discount right? I went in for the 'consultation' with the doctor, who is a chiropractor, and I wish I would have known that prior all this. Chiropractors are good at musculoskeletal issues, not jacks of all trades. I was shown a binder of what the lipo laser does, then he started showing me 'treatment plans' that cost $$$. I got sucked into it and paid for 6 more sessions, on top of the 3 I had already got a discount on. The total price? $xxxx minus the Groupon (which doesn't make sense, since Groupon allows for the complete value to be taken off the bill, not the price I paid for the discount). Thus, it should have been $xxxx - $750....but they are charging me $800! I was never shown what the costs were had I not had the Groupon, which was unfortunate. Also, an $15 and an $80 processing fee were tacked onto the bill.
I stupidly agreed to a payment plan, which is run by a payment company that the chiropracter said their company was not affilliated with, yet Patient Payment Solutions is the same company! On the form I signed, the phone number was not listed, just a fax. I googled the company, and it has the same address and same phone numbers as Burn Fat Alaska! I inquired with the receptionist later as to why I didn't get the full Groupon discount, and she said it was because I was "still paying much less anyway."
I went to the first three sessions of which was covered under the Groupon, and I think it helped a teeny bit on my midsection. Then I decided I did not want to pay $800 for what eating less and the gym can accomplish, so I called to opt out of the plan....and the office manager said that the contract was final, whether or not I choose to participate I still have to pay! So I paid for three sessions with Groupon, signed up for 6 more, only used the three of which I paid, and cannot get out of the following 6. Very unprofessional for making me pay for services not yet rendered.
The technician and receptionist are very friendly and pleasant, however. I think the lipo lasers do work, even if only for placebo effect, and the vibrating platform makes the body sufficiently sore as if from a workout. I was given System Detox drops manufactured by DesBio pharmaceuticals; I was given no information on the drops, but told to take them. I had my medical doctor do some research, and apparently thought it is a natural, it can cause liver damage. I am also leery of anything given, natural or not, for which I was not given any information on. I threw the drops away.
Had I been allowed to negate the contract, this would have been a good experience. However, their unwavering stance on not letting me cancel the extra sessions has left this a very bad experience.
I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, Groupon, and my banking institution.
