My complaint is this store. There are about 2 employees who genuinely try to help you and who seem like they enjoy their job. I have been mostly shopping online lately for this exact reason. My last time in the store was the worst experience I have had there, and it drove me to finally write a review. The staff acted like they could care less about me, the significant purchase I was trying to make, or anything else for that matter. One of the employees had a child with her, who appeared to be her daughter. One employee was sitting on the ground sorting through underwear to organize (I'm assuming) while talking to another employee. I waited at the register to check out for over 5 minutes, and if I wasn't in need of a specific item I would have left. The employees acted as if they knew I was there, but were "busy". I worked retail for many years and I would have never thought to act that way during work hours WITH customers in the store. When one employee finally did come to ring me up, she didn't push the current store promo BOGO 50% off. I would have definitely picked out another item, but didn't see the signs until I was leaving. The moral of the story is...shop online or go to another store. The Dover store is about an hour from me, and I would go there solely because the service is way better.

It was only tried on at home once and looked like an old lady according to my friends and daughter. Nope. They said we have a no return policy and tell every customer. And due to state laws, no alcohol either which is my only inconvenience. Prices were dirt cheap compared to Hawaii, so I felt like a millionaire shopping in a thrift store, LOL! They also have their own line of generically-labeled items and a loyal customer rewards program. Aisles were fairly wide and inventory tidy and well-stocked. Friendly staff. Cashiers with no line wait for customers at the front of their lanes rather than behind the register. OVERALL: Good service and great prices!

At register I noticed the person before me was asked if they were in the system but I was not. Both this time and the previous time I was there. I had to ask the employee if she was going to look me up in the system because I am and prefer email receipts. I would highly suggest re-training employees on customer service. No matter what age or race. People should be treated with respect. I will continue shopping at SMU but stick with Annapolis and Bethesda stores.
