I felt compelled to write my first Yelp review after reading the rambling, irrational and very…read morehard-to-believe assessment of the previous Yelper. I have been a patient of Dr. Meltzer's for over four years, and I was referred to him by two friends that had been his patients longer than that. Our collective experiences are so night-and-day from those of the previous Yelper, that I question if she is reviewing the right doctor. He and his friendly staff have always gone above and beyond to accommodate scheduling, and I've never had an appointment cancelled or rescheduled. I've never waited in Dr. Meltzer's waiting room any longer than I have at any other doctor's office. When he comes back to the room, he has consistently made me feel as though I had his complete and undivided attention - he's always seemed totally focused on me and my well being. He never makes you feel rushed or like he is in a hurry with you. He genuinely seems to care about his patients, and he engages with them in a more familiar, laid back, but straightforward fashion - not at all pompous or smug - but also in no way inappropriate or unprofessional! Dr. Meltzer is very knowledgeable, kind and compassionate, and while health issues can be extremely scary, I feel comforted knowing that I have a great doctor overseeing everything. As far as doctors are concerned, you will not find one that cares about his patients more! He is hands down the most competent doctor I've ever seen - he represents the very best of his profession!

I had a grand mall seizure. I had it in the evening so I figured I would call the doctors office…read moreMonday because I didn't want to go to the emergency room. So I called in Monday to schedule an appointment and Dr. Melter refused to see me because they were too busy even though I had a grandma seizure. They told me to go to urgent care or the ER which I did and that they would order all the bloodwork or whatever I needed. They ordered the bloodwork, but they did not order a glucose meter glucose tabs or glucose strips being that I had a seizure due to low blood sugar. When I talked to Dr. Melzer on Monday, he told me because I missed past appointments that he would not send in the prescription. The reason I missed those appointments is due to traumatic brain injuries and I do not have a good memory. He was completely rude, completely irresponsible and vindictive. I wouldn't question one thing that that woman said. I wouldn't put anything past this man. I mean, I'm retired disabled vet and that's how he treated me. It would not surprise me. In fact he did, but that's not my business my businesses. He was very rude and he put my life in danger by not prescribing those life-saving tools./prescriptions. I tried rating zero stars because that's what he deserves quite frankly. It's a shame they don't let you.

Took my mother for her annual appt. From what I see, this doctor services the elderly…read more The staff is very good with them. But this is the first time I've seen so many complaining elderly. It can be a comical show. And that's starting with my own 86 young mother. I had to ask them to reduce the air temperature cause she was freezing. Ten mins later, someone else was too warm. So I told her to turn it back down, and we went and stood out front for a few. And when we returned it at a much bearable temperature, I played mediator for a few folks who kept telling the receptionist they could not hear her when she spoke to them. So I used my more baritone voice that their hearing aids could pick up. I'm happy to assist my elderly. Meanwhile, my mom is in my right ear asking me why I am helping them? Got to love her. All in all, it is a good place and takes a lot of patience to handle what they deal with. Though this is an hour from me. With God's will and I get in my 70s, I hope my doctors are as friendly. Clean facilities. This office, I think, is only 1 doctor. So I feel he over books. To have so many scheduled within 15 mins is not good. The patients move slowly and need to talk. He needs to make a little more time for them to explain their symptoms and issues. My mother, who I know, is a constant complainer. Praises the way the doctor listens to her and keeps her healthy. She kept reminding me that her memory is not bad by telling me who everyone is in the office, but she can not remember my name. Thank you for keeping my mother as hea
