This place was ok. I liked the space, and it had a pretty good sounding menu, but it had a feeling like it was still in full pandemic restrictions. The menus are QR codes on the tables, which is pretty standard. I didn't love that food and drinks are on separate tabs. So with 2 of us there, we had 4 tabs by the end. 1 each for food, and 1 each for drinks. It felt a little disjointed. It was also a little hard to get a server's attention when needed. You order on your phone, but just to get a couple glasses of water it took some time to flag down our server. And really, it's more of a host/food-runner situation since all the order processing is done online. I'm not super into cocktails, but their drinks really sounded amazing. They have some very fun, and inventive cocktails. If we hadn't already been to 2 breweries I probably would've ordered one. Instead I had a beer, which I believe was a house made IPA, and was fine. We weren't super hungry so we each ordered some egg rolls and shared them. Not necessarily the best I've ever had, but they were definitely good enough. I appreciate that they had some fun, not typical types of egg rolls on the menu. The space was cool, and I liked the food well enough that I'd go back. Hopefully it will feel a little more like a dining experience next time. That, or they could just have people order at a counter and it would make more sense. The Sunday brunch menu is small, but sounds amazing. I'm more likely to return for that rather than for a dinner. read more

HURL and SPEW more like it. A round of applause to the menu writer for creating intrigue. And also props to the waiters for having a positive attitude about deplorable food. I DO NOT recommend eating the food here. Laughably bad. The heirloom tomato was described as marinated, pickled, smoked, candied, and blistered with micro cilantro and finishing salt. Okay, already trying too hard with the descriptors. And no effort whatsoever with the actual execution of the dish. It was truly cold cherry tomatoes with olive oil and salt. Sad. A little funny. And ultimately puzzling. The shrimp was $15 for 3 shrimp plated on shredded iceberg and pickled jalapeño. The wontons might have been purchased at Trader Joe's and thrown in the deep frier. Lastly, the burrata. I should have known better than to order burrata "fried," that's a tragic oxymoron. Rubbery on the inside, crusty on the outside, and seeping with milky juices, tenderly plated with thin slices of hamburger bun cutely called a crostini. Atmosphere was good with a view of downtown Muskegon. The Brussels sprouts- salty with heat. Steak and Frits- good. Same sauce as the Brussels. I had mine in the side. Meat was cooked as ordered. Street corn- the best part about this dish is the homemade tortilla chips!! Those are amazing. Chick thighs- reminds me of Jamaica flavors. Bao taco seemed pretty solid. Husband enjoyed their homemade IPA- has citrus notes to it. Would probably visit again. read more

I heard about this place from another local establishment's patrons. I want to give them more starts but I was puzzled by their service. I thought calling ahead would be the way to go since I was next door. The google phone number is out of state to a voicemail (i doubt is checked for phone orders). I then attempted calling the number on the website that rang indefinitely. Finally I went there to place the order and requested to have it delivered next door. We waited a long time before the order came. It's a cold dish (which I didn't read in the description) so now I am really wondering why it took so long and does not come with utensils because they don't have any for their takeout service... LOVE this place! Recommended by a friend and I'm mad we waited so long to come! In our defense, we just heard about it on Thursday and it's Saturday... The space is beautiful! Decor is different, colorful without being too much and it has HUGE windows. We were welcomed before we were fully in the door. Brooke has a huge smile and we immediately felt at home. Uriah made our cocktails - an Old Fashioned made with their own Touché 8 year rum and it was amazing! First time with a rum based old fashioned. I had a pear pleasure and it was incredible! Different from my usual and it had a delicious slice of pear as a garnish. For a snack we had the Bernie Bites. I could have eaten a couple more they were so tasty. Super fresh and really pretty. Very cute new space in downtown Muskegon. I am always down for a solid craft cocktail. I went on a Monday night, which I'm assuming is not the best night for a crowd, but I was one of only two people there from about 7-9pm. I appreciate that they are open Mondays, though! I tried one of the seasonal drinks with nitro-it looked very pretty, but tasted a bit like Lime La Croix. I reviewed the small snack menu: nice options, but seemed a bit pricey for some chips and salsa and other similar items. Overall, this place is just getting started, but I enjoyed my experience (decor is adorable) and will definitely return in the future. read more

I went to buy a bottle of rum for a birthday recipient. I looked at the menu, it said a price. I told the bartender I wanted that one, she told me it was actually more, the menu was wrong. Okay, fine, I'll take it. She reaches behind her and puts it on the bar, rings it up, now, there is a 20% gratuity and tax, (ok, not their fault,) on top of it. So, what I thought was one price ended up being 10.00 more. 10 bucks isn't a huge deal, but, if they did that for every bottle sold, or, could at least warn you? I thought it was pretty poor customer service, third time I gave this place a chance and we only go "local," so, they lost a customer. read more

Awful experience! 1. Waited 18 minutes for a $16 gin drink that came warm with no ice. 2. The Pho had so much cinnamon it was inedible. 3. The tuna roll was mushy and gummy. I had to ask for wasabi and they had no pickled ginger . 4. The pork gyozas were mushy, no pork flavor and undercooked. We learned the hard way that you don't order sushi and pho at a bar. Stay with ordering at a sushi and Vietnamese restaurants only. The only reason we'll try the place again is that the manager and waitress were real great and realized that the food was really bad and took care of the bill. Decided to try out this distillery after it was recommended to us by a friend. Cocktails were great and the crispy brussel sprout appetizer was absolutely AMAZING. The rest of our food was just alright (Would not recommend bibimbap) Definitely would come back just for drinks not dinner. Our server was super nice and attentive but because it was slow the rest of the servers were standing around watching us the whole time and telling our server to talk to us and to come check on us more throughout our meal.... We wandered through downtown Muskegon on the Saturday night of the Hackley Hooley. It was busy! After walking past 3 establishments and seeing how crowded they were, we came to Burl and Spring expecting the same thing. We found a vacant table and sat down. Although restaurants are going through a period of adjustment, we were greeted right away by a server. She was perky and positive.She put our order in promptly and we got our food in a reasonable amount of time. The Burl Boil was the best meal I have had in a long time! Best Tuna I have had since I was in Key West. Great atmosphere, relaxing, and great service. We will be back.

Started going to Burl and Sprig last summer. Loved the crafted cocktails and the Lumberjack was my absolute favorite. Since the establishment moved, they have a list of "pre-made" barrel cocktails. (They said that they were the same, just made in bulk). I had my Lumberjack, and it was nothing like the hand crafted cocktail I used to get. Not to mention, it was served in a small plastic glass. Now, I know that 10.00 is not an exorbitant amount to spend on a cocktail these days, but the new system is truly a disappointment. I was fine paying for the handcrafted cocktail I used to have, it was worth it. I doubt I will be spending much time or money there anymore. read more

As for the waiter Tim... he was amazing getting our drink orders washing dishes to get our drinks to us and making our orders../ the bartender was busy sucking up to the owner who just happened to be there the night we were and when we tied to give him a compliment to one of his employees he refused to talk to us and gave us a dirty look... I love this place! The drinks may take longer because they are all special and made with fresh fruit juices. The food is really good and creative. This is the first time for my wife and I to visit here at the new building. We arrived at 4:50 pm on a Saturday. Atmosphere is nice and we had no complaints about the food. Food came out very fast considering our waitress had 5 tables seated in her section within 5 minutes. This is due to everyone seats themselves and she had the only section with low tops where the music was not as loud. We waited 26 minutes for a drink flight and a vodka cranberry. We saw no apparent manager helping the servers. We did see however both of the bartenders go into the kitchen a handful of times each and the cook out on the floor talking to people two times. Our waitress Merrill did a great job considering she had 5 tables seated pretty much at the same time and the bar was slow. My suggestion is that people are seated by an employee so the wait staff do not get overwhelmed with multiple tables at once. Second have a working floor manager there to help out where needed and third more or more efficient bartenders. read more
