I am new to the area, and had to wait for weeks to get an appointment with Dr. Burke, whose office is nearly a half-hour from my home. My experience there was the stuff of nightmares -- probably the most unprofessional, condescending, ill-prepared physician I have ever encountered. I made a point of handing my test results and comments from my PCP to his staff, but he hadn't even looked at them by the time he sauntered into the examination room. He must have been six feet away from me when he declared that my symptoms were basically all in my imagination and had nothing to do with the condition that my test results implied. It's hard to believe that a person like that ever came anywhere near a medical school. After turning down his humiliatingly worded examination offer, I excused myself and fled the place. read more

I was scheduled to see a plastic surgeon in another dermatologist's office, but a friend recommended I see Dr. Thomas Burke for a second opinion. I'm glad I did. Dr Burke felt surgery was overdoing it and suggested a noninvasive treatment. I chose Dr Burke's approach. The treatment was 100% effective and no cutting! I've been back for several follow-ups (my choice) and still clear. I like Dr Burke's friendly, down-to-earth nature, and his office staff is great. I don't understand the negative reviews, especially about getting lost looking for his office??? Also, Dr DAVID Burke isn't associated with Thomas Burke's office. read more

Nice, pleasant staff - but cookie-cutter initial visit with a PA. I waited more than a month for an appointment and expected to see a doctor. My specific questions were not addressed. Left with a typed "one size fits all" plan. Very disappointed. read more

I saw a doctor here back in 2018. Had a horrible experience with the last doctor. Saw some good review for another doctor in this office so I thought I will give them another try. Scheduled an appointment few months out and the lady that scheduled the appointment for me said, "you're all set". The day has finally arrived and I made my way to their office using their advertised address in my GPS. I was lost in the parking lot, not knowing which building as I didn't see their name in any of the building. I had to call the office and the lady said, "oh, we're in Building A and you're in suite 107". So I got to Building A and suite 107 and I was told that there was no appointment for me at all. I was left dumb founded. The receptionist did not even offer to make an appointment for me right away. So I just left and now have to find another dermatologist. What horrible experience. The Medical Assistant, Melanie L Hurlock from New Castle DE is abhorrent. This person doesn't properly refill prescriptions and has the gall to call clients "ignorant" when they followup. Do not visit this place! David Burke needs to re-evaluate his staff, as you can see from the reviews this isn't an isolated case. read more

I needed a dermatology Appt and went to Burke Dermatology. Was seen by Dr Burke himself. I worried b/c reviews previously read were 50/50. I gave it a shot. He was excellent. Very approachable, answered my question and took time doing so. Do not let all reviews deter you from giving someone a chance. Execellent experience. Good bedside manner. Definite would see him again. Office staff very accommodating and friendly. I know he spent more time than allowed which makes me rethink that's taken away from someone else, but guess what I'm sure he'd give you the very same time needed to make you feel comfortable! D. Dr Burke is good but not worth the added chaos his office/policy presents. Our family all goes to him. Tried to refill a prescription but they wouldn't because he hadn't been seen in a year. Zero flexibility for a student away at college. It's acne medication, not a controlled substance. First nurse told me it was a law (not true) second nurse told me it was office policy. I asked for a telehealth appt, nope not willing to even consider it. They will only prescribe enough to barely get you through so you HAVE to come back in. Total scam. read more

Made an 8:00 am appointment with Drew on 10/13/21; I start work at 9:00 and was hoping to be finished by 9:00. I signed in at 7:53 am, provided my insurance card, and paid my copay. At 8:40, I was still sitting in the reception area waiting for my 8:00 appointment and finally asked the receptionist when I'd be seen, pointing out that I was asking because I needed to work at 9:00. She said she'd "see where I was" and started looking thru some papers, and at that point I asked instead if she could refund my copay; because they hadn't even been called back to a waiting room for a consult with a nurse before seeing Drew, and there was no way of telling how long it would take before I finally got to see him... if ever. The receptionist refunded my copay, and said "sorry about that." I realize it wasn't her fault that Drew was running so late. I will not be going back to Burke Dermatology... had anyone on staff bothered to give me a heads-up that Drew was running so far behind, or offered to reschedule my appointment, I might be willing to, but it's inexcusable that in 2021 a physician's office has so little consideration (if they actually have any consideration at all) for their patients' time. They are honestly the worse! Took a month to get my results back, after having to call them numerous times. While I was at the place, they forgot to check me in. I was waiting for an hour as everyone else got seen. The doctor does not do a good job of making you feel heard. I don't recommend. read more

Tom Burke was an extreme disappointment. His time is more important than the comfort of his patient. I challenged him in his preparation of my skin sample and he became argumentative. If I had not waited a month to see him over a skin concern I would have stopped him immediately. I don't know what his hand gestures meant to his assistant, but he wrote in my file that I had "uncertain behavior!" I then had to follow up with his office every week for 4 weeks for results as they never returned my phone calls. I would NOT recommend him; look elsewhere!! read more

I too was very disappointed in the unprofessionalism of the dermatologist and the staff. The Doctor never explained the procedure or the aftercare, he just proceeded to zap me with the gun, without waiting for my consent. When I called the next day to discuss this with the nurse, she was very patronizing and condescending. She acted like the freezing process was an everyday thing, and no explanation should be needed. A bad experience quickly became worse. I will not be back, nor would I recommend him. read more

I cannot recommend a better dermatologist. My entire family has been a patient of Dr. Burke's for years. My Father sees him for Psoriasis, my brother & I have seen him for Acne over the years. He spends quality time with his patients and ensures he answers all your questions. read more

Today I went in for a skin reaction, I had a bad experience. Because of COVID, it's hard to understand what some people are saying. Especially dermatologist jargon. I don't really know much of what was said during my appointment, and was basically just was told to go pick up a prescription and OTC cream. We didn't discuss root cause of the rash, which I don't really know where it came from. If you've ever seen/read Harry Potter, the character Dolores Umbridge torture's Harry with writing into his skin, and that's basically what the doctor did to me. He wrote the word "BACK" with a hard Q-tip on the top of by back without telling me what he was doing. I thought he was scraping my back for a skin sample, and it hurt. This was all to show me that when my skin is irritated, it turns red. I also saw this same doctor for my hair loss months back. He did the same sort of thing, not deeply discussing what's going on with my body and just throwing a prescription at me. read more

I went to Dr. Burke because my friend went to him and had great things to say. I have been seeing him for about two years now and I am utterly disappointed with the services provided. I suffer from cystic acne that stays on my face for months. He gave me an antibiotic, which worked for one year. The pill stopped working and he gave me a hormonal pill, which caused me to fall into a deep depression. After explaining this to him, he acted like he didn't care and said "well i guess you can take Accutane" which messes with your emotions even more!!! He didn't care about my skin or my current emotional state. I left crying because I felt that he didn't care about curing my acne. He had visually shown me that he had given up on me. I will NOT return and i suggest that no one else see him. read more

Visited for the first time today. The office staff was very professional and friendly. I only waited around 10 minutes to be called back! The doctor I saw (Dr. Bevers) was very formal and professional, however, I do wish he was slightly more informative instead of coming in the room and going right into what he was going to prescribe me. I've been struggling with my issue for months now and have been looking forward to this appointment. I couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed in myself for not asking more questions and not letting myself feel rushed through the consult. Regardless, Dr. Bevers prescribed me something that will hopefully work and I am looking forward to the next 8 weeks on how things are progressing! read more

Dr. Burke has been my dermatologist for years and has helped me through many different issues. He is always very knowledgeable, kind and informative. He takes the time to answer all of my questions. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. I have met with all of the providers at Burke Dermatology and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend any of them as your dermatologist. Been patient for several years. Last year never saw the doctor. last visit asked for a cyst to be removed from my back since it was increasing size and I had peniding back surgery. Said it wasn't necessary. Two weeks later became inflamed . I was told couldn't do anything since it was inflamed. Come back in 30.days. Spent the following weekend in er to have it lanced. One week later for surgeon to removed. Had to postpone back surgery in definitely. PATHETIC read more

I went to Burke for Mohs, which is supposed to be a microscopic surgery. He took a scalpel and in two digs put a huge hole in my nose. I have a terrible scar now on my face. His staff was beyond unprofessional, to the point where the office manager made me cry due to how rude she was. I explained this to the Doctor and I believe he butchered my face because I brought this to his attention. read more

Went here several times for a procedure that was non-cosmetic and that was covered by insurance but was difficult to get the insurance to agree to. I had the procedure done twice. When I went the third time they promised me they would call once they got the insurance to agree. I called several times to follow up and was consistently blown off. The office staff was very rude and obviously was not dedicated to helping the patient. Dr. Burke was nice but rather cold. I assume they must get most of their business from cosmetic procedures therefore don't bother with the medical / insurance procedures much. read more

I was very disappointed in the unprofessionalism of the dermatologist. I received a phone call from the office manager to let me know my mole biopsy had come back as melanoma. Melissa was as kind as could be but could not answer any of my questions because she was not a nurse or doctor. The only information she could give me was to follow up with oncology as soon as possible. Talk about your heart stopping. I was only 33 years old. What doctor would have a office manager call their patient to tell them they have an aggressive skin cancer?? Burke dermatology!!!! I have been a nurse for 13 years. I have never worked directly with a doctor who would do that to patient. Where is their empathy and ethical responsibility to take the time needed to explain to their patient about the new cancer diagnosis?? I made an appointment myself to have Dr. Bright explain to me my biopsy results. I did let her know how upset I was and she couldn't even offer an apology. "That's normal protocol and thank you for letting me know how you feel" Are you kidding me??I guess she missed the class on ethics and bedside manner. read more

In Miami I had started my tattoo removal and had agreed to $1200 for complete removal with a Dr. down there. I paid $600 my first session and owed $600 more for total. After moving up here, I was in search of a new Dr. with the hopes I could get a discount(maybe a couple hundred off)- I didn't want to pay the full $1200 again, I was very disappointed after contacting multiple derms to be quoted at sometimes even more than $1200. I luckily came across and contacted Dr. Burke by email about Picosure Laser removal. Not only did he respond quickly and appointment me quickly, but he price matched the $600 I had left on my Florida tab and took off an extra $100 for good measure! I have been in for 3 sessions with Dr. Burke and I couldn't ask for more, he is very professional and a very cool guy. I highly recommend him. read more

Thank god for Dr. Burke. We are from Bucks County, Pa. My son and I went to Dr. Burke for a spider bite about a month ago. My son had 5 bites all over his legs. We went to our family doctor and they treated him but it was unsuccessful so they referred me to see a Dermatologist. After 7 days he could barely walk, the bites were the size a quarter hot and swollen, he had a constant fever. I tried getting an appointment with Dermatologist in Bucks county and surrounding counties but the wait time for an appointment was 2 weeks or more. I needed action immediately. I found Dr. Burke on the internet and called the office for an immediate appointment. I could not believe it, but he got me in that afternoon. The office location was easy to find and super clean- very important. The staff was wonderful and so concerned. Dr. Burke was really nice and thorough. He treated him with creams, antibiotics, gave me other tips on how to get the infection out faster and also what to use for the scarring after. Within 2 days he could walk and the fever was gone. I am so grateful for you Dr. Burke and I wanted to thank you again. I will travel 90 minutes to your office any time I need a dermatologist. Your the best!!!!! read more
