I wanted to come here twice before I said what I'm about to say: the 5150 Burger is THE BEST burger I've had in my life. I think they must grind bacon into the patty, because the patty is freaking incredible. Shakes are crazy good too. Blue Bell ice cream, so....can't miss. read more

I didn't rate it 5 stars b/c it is the best burger EVER but b/c it met all my criteria that a good burger joint out to be. Not sure what all the fuss is about, the burger was barely palatable. It was dry and had little flavor. Most reviews rave on the fries, but ours were inedible. Maybe the grease was old. I've never had fries before that I couldn't eat. In addition, the portion was small. The menu is limited and there are no onion rings. I judge a burger place on its O-rings, and Burger Warehouse needs to add to its repertoire. On this day, the cashier had no personality and was rude and abrupt with us. It was MLK holiday and only two other tables about 12:00 noon. We can say we tried it, but we won't be back. Whataburger is a much better option at a better price. OK I'm going to break this down "list-style" because I'm almost in a food coma, and my brain isn't really working. 1.) Burger - juicy, without being greasy. Overall really good and the best thing was that the bun had been toasted to perfection and there was a little crunchy edge all the way around it and that makes my heart happy. 2.) Fries - I have a confession. McDonald's fries are my favorite. I know, you don't have to tell me. But it's really hard for any other fry to equal out in my book. However, these are really good fries. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside... Came out piping hot which is amazing. BUT. Y'all. The ketchup selection. Chipotle ketchup and wasabi ketchup. Yasssss. I ate every one of those fries because of the ketchup. 3.) Drink selection: they have cream soda and grape soda. I'm about to go make myself a suicide, circa fourth grade. UPDATE - The shop sent me a message that their beef is fresh, never frozen, and they grind it on-site. They also said that they use a machine press to make the patties to keep them consistent. It's a great place for a burger, for sure. read more

I now have a Go-To burger place in Tyler! This is an outstanding burger. It is greasy so you have to game plan for it but it's a battle worth fighting. The meat is fresh, it is cooked perfectly, has a little char to it...just a good, classic greasy burger! Atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. As a matter of fact, I would not be surprised if people come in, look around, and then walk out thinking, "there's no way such a bare bones atmosphere can have good food." Went about 3:30 pm. Meat seemed cold, asked for lettuce & tomatoes. Got tomatoes, half piece of wilted lettuce. Bacon real thick& chewy like it had been cooked this morning for the day. Very greasy. Fries dipped in batter or something, so greasy. Young lady chewed on her finger all way to ice cream spot, took nasty finger ungloved to pour milk & ice cream using that finger to make a guys milkshake. Burger Warehouse lives up to the warehouse moniker, but the burgers were all pretty good. Their menu isn't very extensive but it's good. Stopped in with my wife and sister, we all had different burgers and all thought they were good. They had several different TVs running various old TV shows which was kind of interesting. Everything I have had here has been amazing. I've heard some people complain about prices. This is what a quality hamburger costs. If you want to eat garbage, drop money at a fast food joint. What an excellent change of pace from the chain restaurants. This was an exceptionally well made, tasty, if slightly pricey burger. Since we don't come to Tyler often, we wanted to try it out and we're glad we did. If you're near Green Acres, I recommend you give it a try. I would say the fries are enough for two people and by all means, have the milk shake Dec 2018 - follow up review I was explaining to my 11 year old that one of the most frequent places restaurants fail is consistency. I had to stop by Tyler for a little work on my way to the DFW area. Since we had not had breakfast yet and it was already 11, we decided to try a little hole-in-the-wall place that was not part of a chain. The only things against this place? It has a very limited menu, and the seating is not very comfortable (wooden or metal surfaces). The things for it? What it does have on the menu, it does very well. I had the 5150 burger (bacon blended into the patty). My wife had the southwestern burger. We each added fries. The fries were perfectly made, and the burgers were excellent. The single best burger in Tyler! For all of you older folks, this is what Whataburger tasted like in the late 70's. Real buns, real beef and a really loaded burger. I've already tried all the other burger places in Tyler and no one can touch it. I hesitated at $2.00 for bacon but Wow, real bacon, cooked real good and all worth it. It's about the same price as another local burger place, but the burgers are much smaller and the fries seem like they are the pre-packaged frozen variety you might get with a gas station burger.
