Can't get take out right I love the burgers at burger lounge I think they're one of the best. "fast food" burgers you can get. The problem is they cannot seem to get any takeout orders correct. Today is the third and final time that I will order takeout from Burger lounge. Especially when getting an order delivered when they forget the sauce which they always do or get part of your order wrong which has happened twice now and the delivery driver is gone. That's it you're done you're stuck with whatever food you got. Today I ordered a burger, onion rings and a Pinot Gris can of wine. It's expensive at $9.99 so I wanted to get what I paid for and requested. I ended up with a red Pinot noir instead. So lounge, I give up on you, burger lounge. A local suggested we have lunch at Burger Lounge. The quality of the burger or chicken is why people come here I think. A chicken club and agave can margarita was $20. The WORST delivery and the BEST fast food. Tough to like this place. We orde 2-3x a month for delivery from LaJolla to PB (about 6 miles). Orders are usually on time, but wrong half the time. Sometimes it's a minor miss, but often it's major. Most recently we ordered three burgers and some sides. Instead, we received an order for someone else that was a kids burger and milkshake. I hadn't been to Burger Lounge in years but we were hungry and it was raining out and we wanted something quick and filling and the parking gods were with us so we decided to give it another try. I ordered the grass fed burger keto bowl and added a piece of crispy grilled queso. This bowl was PHENOMENAL!!! Honestly among the best I've ever had. The guac on top was super fresh and delicious as were all of the veggies. The grilled zucchini was an amazing touch. I actually could have done without the queso even though it added delicious cheesy goodness. This meal was hearty and filling. The service was awesome--everyone was friendly and offered good advice on food choices. Just a few caveats, the indoor space is tiny and there is no indoor seating other than a few barstool countertop seats. So if it's raining, you might want to consider take out or be ok being sandwiched up against the other customers. We had a large stroller with us that basically took up the aisle but luckily the staff and other customers were super chill about it. If you or your guests have accessibility issues however, you might want to scout it out in advance to make sure everyone will be comfortable. I can't imagine this would have held up as well as a "to-go" order. Would be a great place to go on a sunny day to take advantage of their outdoor seating. read more

Arrived and the place had no AC. I had placed an online order for pickup. They had my order in a bag stapled but I opened it to check my items. I'm not one to usually check but when they charge you for additional sauces and you purchase them I think they should give them to you lol. They hadn't placed my extra ranch in there. The only difference is they now give you a light amount of fries and rings when you get a halfnhalf. Not happy. Been a longtime customer of Burger Lounge -- from the very beginning. We had a small group dinner at our house tonight -- decided to order Burger Lounge via Doordash. Didn't work out so great. Long story short, we ordered 3 regular burgers, 2 plant-based burgers, 1 ancient grain paleo burger, and 1 crispy chicken sandwich, plus some plant-based chicken nuggets and 5 orders of fries (why doesn't BL offer onion rings through Doordash??) We didn't get the ancient grain paleo burger and my wife's plant-based burger was missing the avocado we ordered and paid extra $$$ for. They were on our receipt but not delivered. We always love our food here, and I don't care what ppl say about In N Out burger - to me, Burger Lounge is my go-to for burgers! I was so happy to see Burger Lounge open after the pandemic but I can see why; the tasty fresh food, the very kind management and a gorgeous setting in the heart of La Jolla. I love the bespoke tea, beers on tap, and other refreshing drinks and the managers are kind enough to let you grab a drink and sit on their sidewalk tables and relax. They have everything out there from great music, heaters for winter and fans for summer. The chicken tenders are REAL chicken, lightly battered and oh so juicy. First, they're currently running a "Kids eat free on Tuesday" deal for dine in, takeout and delivery, but beware - if you order online the deal doesn't apply and there's no acknowledgement or attempt made by the staff to rectify that. Then, our small takeout order was supposed to take 15 minutes and instead took 40! (And that was after we stood there and asked for a status update awkwardly a few times.) No apology. No offer for a free drink for the inconvenience. Nada. Instead the cashier just laughed and said "there's nothing I can do about it" every time someone walked up in a huff asking about their order. Location - tough to find parking Seating - inside had a small bar type table with seats, the rest were outside, maybe 5 or so. Staff - were working hard to get orders out even though they were understaffed. Made everyone aware of wait times due to surge in online orders, most left without ordering. Food: Took about 20-25 minutes. Onion rings - really good, seasoning was very good. Burger - this was lukewarm and not good. I think this was because the chicken took so long, but was disappointing. Fried Chicken sandwich - good, this was the biggest sandwich I've ever seen. Wasn't a fan of the sauce though, really needed something different like the Popeyes sauce. Overall probably wouldn't return as it was a pain to get to, most seating was outside with no heaters and the food was pretty expensive. If it was convenient I may stop by another BL location to give them another chance. read more

This is a follow-up review of my office's experience with TO-GO orders with the La Jolla location, let me preface that the corporate office of Burger Lounge wanted to make things right and provided our office with a gift card to try again. Here are things the La Jolla location really needs to improve on: Timing of orders, the food was sitting out when I arrived, when I mean sitting out, I mean the boxes were open and any heat that could have been retained had gone. This is frustrating because our office is maybe 3 mins from Burger Lounge, so coming back with a cold burger is so so disappointing. I am assuming if you eat in person, it's very fresh and warm but both times we ordered to-go and it was cold. Quality of products, the avocado on multiple sandwiches was going brown, and not very appetizing. Also accuracy of orders, my burger was not supposed to have avocado but it did, if there was an allergy or something like that, it could be very dangerous. Portion sizes, someone in our office got the COD pan-fried sandwich, they advised that after a few bites, they ran out of cod and were basically just eating a veggie sandwich after that... That's really disappointing. I am grateful they gifted us a card to try again, but I don't think I would ever spend my own dollars here or even suggest this place for my office to eat from again. read more

There was a line outside and obviously bcuz I ordered take out, I'm not gonna wait in the line where ppl are ordering in. So I walked in to the counter to the left side of the cashiers and this girl was like hey hey hey, what are you doing. And I told her i was trying to pick up a take out order and she pointed to the outside pick up window and told me to go there to get my pick up order. Her tone was SO rude and she acts like the pick-up window for to-go orders was obvious. You can't even see the damn sign that says "pick-up orders". Like don't get mad at me when you guys have a CRAPPY SIGN THATS LITERALLY THE SIZE OF NOTHING. If you want ppl to know where your takeout window is, PUT A BIGGER SIGN. Additionally, I usually love the food here but ewww it was so gross last time I got it. The fries tasted stale and the burger wasn't what it used to be. It doesn't have enough sauce now and was a bit dry tbh. I'm so disappointed bcuz this was my go-to burger spot and I got all my friends who live in SD and ppl from out of town to go here, but idk about recommending this place anymore to anyone tbh unless they change things up like not serving stale fries and hiring workers who don't have attitude. read more

Not sure why this place has high reviews. I was craving a "gourmet" burger and found this place on Yelp. The order took quite a while 20 minutes for two burgers, onion rings and fries. I ordered the lamb burger and the lounge burger. Both were hugely disappointing. I was expecting gourmet burgers for the price I'm paying but have to say, Five Guys and In and Out are both way better and cheaper. When I got my burgers, I opened the boxes and was very disappointed by the appearance of both burgers. They looked very hastily and sloppily put together - about as far from the pictures as a burger can be. Taking a closer look at the burgers, the lamb burger was missing the "creamy feta cheese" which was so prominently displayed in the picture, and there was only a small amount of red onions. The lounge burger was no better with very shriveled looking lecture, a small piece of tomato, and after digging very hard I found one lonely pickle slice. I went back to ask what happened, and after the front staff asked the kitchen, it turns out they didn't have any more feta cheese and so just decided to assemble the burger without a pretty critical ingredient. They were very apologetic, and we worked out a compromise where I got some thousand island dressing, cheese, and pickles on the side to make the burgers a bit more appetizing. This is the only reason why this is a 2 star review. Overall, the burgers looked lousy, and the buns were crusty and dry. I understand trying to be health conscious and using what looked like a whole wheat bun, but the texture just wasn't appealing. The lamb and beef patties were both also a bit dry, and the overall flavors for both burgers were pretty disappointing. Service was also mediocre despite the payment system asking for a 20% tip when you pay (before you get your food). I saw about 3-5 people who had already ordered ahead of us come back inside and ask for a cup to get water. When we were placing our order, I asked for a cup to get ice for my Spindrift - which I was in the process of paying for - the cashier gives me an annoyed look. While I was eating, I saw the server who helped us with the missing feta and pickles finally clean the tables while 3-4 others were bunched in a corner goofing around. General cleanliness was not good - the counter and seating areas inside and out on the patio were both pretty dirty. The tables and chairs were dirty, and the soda machine area was also wet and dirty. This is why I got my order to go, until I was forced to go back to the store because the burgers looked so sad. I don't recommend this place at all and will not come back. read more

The only reason I'd consider it a 4 star and not 5, is because it's pretty tough to find parking (I'm also not from this area so I don't know the ins and outs) There isn't much seating inside but I like the outdoor seating area, and burgers came out fast. We also wanted lemon for our water and someone was kind enough to cut some fresh for us in the back-- really appreciated that! The fries are great but definitely over priced. However, the quality of beef patty in these burgers is A1!! I ordered the butcher and it was delicious. I like the fact they allow you to customize any burger on their menu. I'm not a huge burger fan, but this place hit the spot and I love the type of bread their bun is made from don't know what it is but it's delicious! We were looking for a good burger for lunch and decided to try the Burger Lounge. We were expecting a little more and when we arrived we were surprised there wasn't more to it. It is on a corner and the inside seating is essentially a narrow counter with stools, maybe enough seating for 6 or 7 people. You order at the counter, they give you your cup for your drinks and you fill it yourself. There were a few small tables outside. Maybe 3 or 4 tables. It is definitely nothing fancy, nothing wrong with that, just be aware. I had the Lounge Burger and a side of fries. It was pretty tasty, but by the time we added fries and a drink to our two burger order, we were basically at $40. They use grass-fed beef in their burgers, but still, $40 for two burgers, fries and drinks is a lot. There are other places to go nearby to sit in a nice restaurant, have a similar burger with fries included, that offer much broader menu and drink options, that cost about the same. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying the food wasn't good, nor am I saying I wouldn't return. I am saying that it was a lot more casual than I expected. For a quick takeaway, or a fast bite, it is a good choice. A little pricey, but not terribly so. Lots of locations in Southern CA...perhaps others have a more welcoming environment than the one in La Jolla. read more

To start off, the service is impeccable, top notch! The food? Absolutely effing delicious!!! It hit the spot and exactly what my wife and I have been craving. We ordered the S.O.B Burger with 1/2 and 1/2 fries and onion rings and I was able to substitute my patty with an impossible patty.
