We really didn't know if there was a line, where it was, who was still waiting to order. Typically we are asked if we would like to order right when walking into ANY DQ. When we asked the cashier if we were next to order she just shrugged. The cashier just stared at us until we asked the roughly 6 other people standing there if they had already ordered. They had all already ordered. We made a clear order of 2 double cheeseburger meals and 2 3 piece chicken strip baskets, all of which came with a small sundae. We told her we didn't want the sundaes until we left, typically we get a slip to get them on our way out. This DQ apparently did not provide said slip. So we asked if we could still have them AFTER our meal and she said that was fine. We gave her CLEAR orders of 4 different sundae flavors to go with our 4 different meals. When we got our meal we got one chicken strip basket and one double cheeseburger meal....for 4 people who had just clearly ordered 4 meals. They also brought out 2 sundaes before our meals even came out. We sent the sundaes back because we have little kids and I'm sure any parent knows how ice cream before a meal goes. We then had to wait for our other 2 meals while the 4 of us shared the 2 meals that had already come out. The cashier immediately said she messed up when we approached her about our missing meals. She was very clearly new and painfully shy because we seriously stood there for a solid 5 minutes while she just stared at the backs of the other co workers working by the ice cream machines, it appeared she was too shy to ask for help fixing the order. We reorder the other 2 meals, paid again, waited, share our existing 2 meals, get those last 2 orders and finished up. We went to get our sundaes and she again stared at the other co workers backs, too shy to ask them to make our sundaes. I should note, it was not busy. There was a group of about 6 people when we first arrived but they quickly got their food and left, otherwise there were 2 orders behind us after we sat down to wait. There were 2 small groups finishing up at the tables when we arrived. By the time we left it was just us and 2 other men.

Showed up at 12:08am, sat in the drive thru fro over ten minutes before even placing the order and didn't get to the window until 12:28am. The vehicle in front of me had ordered and paid and five minutes in just drove away with out food if that tells you anything. When I got to the window expecting to pay they hadn't even started my order, I believe the owner came to the window and didn't even know how to punch in my order on his own computer system. There were two employees I could see thru the window whom were sneaking around in the back because they didn't want to be seen. Both were also coughing and cleaning their hands/nails with no gloves on and then handling food - pretty damn pathetic, I didn't plan on eating the food anymore at that point but for the sake of this review I figured I would stick around and see how long it took to get my order. I'm honestly beyond words about my experience, thankfully my meal was only ten bucks and a valuable lesson for my time. I got home contemplated whether to open my order before throwing it out and rest assured the food quality and preparation is beyond words/lacking - how do you let something go out like that, as an owner you should be ashamed of your yourself and your employees business practices pride of ownership is everything. I'll give my money to anywhere else which would appreciate it and values my time and then apologizes to me for making me wait for my order almost a half hour. Once I was checked in to my hotel room and had settled in, I did a search for a McDonald's in Steinbach and found this one. I was curious and decided to order the same Diet Coke for pickup through the app. It said that all fountain drinks were unavailable. Huh? Perhaps maintenance was scheduled on the machines. I'm glad that I took the chance and got my drinks at a different McDonald's. During my stay in Steinbach, I did visit this restaurant twice. Both times were through the drive-thru. I first got a medium iced oat coffee through the McDonald's app. It was $1. I liked changing things up, as I'm not a regular coffee drinker. However, I do enjoy iced coffee, especially when I can get oat beverage in it. I fetched my drink in the morning before heading into Winnipeg. I got a nice woman at the drive-thru. I provided my order code. She found it and said that I could proceed to the next window. She was cheerful. She gave me my drink. I thanked her and continued westbound. I loved my iced coffee. It was cold. It's wasn't too sweet. It was enjoyable to sip during my drive. On my second visit, I got a large Diet Coke. I also ordered it through the app, but was heading back to the hotel after a nice day in Winnipeg. I got a different female staffer. She was nice. It was the same drill. I gave her my order code. I then picked up my drink. Diet Coke at McDonald's is a treat. It's cold, fizzy, crisp, and delicious. I had a great couple of experiences picking up orders at this McDonald's. She took our order, then it took over 20 minutes to get our food AND our drinks, and drinks were forgotten and we weren't given straws. When our food arrived, we weren't given silverware, and only then could we ask for the things that were forgotten. We watched her go to other tables around ours and check on them and clear their tables as well. I'm not sure if this part is normal-- but when we got our checks, we weren't given any sort of writing utensil to fill out the merchant copy of the receipts. Overall, I would not recommend coming here if you expect to have decent service
