We stopped in on opening day and enjoyed an incredible meal- started with the hangover fries (the combo of ingredients is unmatched) and some wings! Everything is packed full of flavor and our 3 year old even loved the wings! We ordered the Penn Station Pie and it's so fun to watch the pizzas being made in front of you! I'm obsessed with the longs islands here and they also have 12 beers on tap! The service is top notch, our severe was a taller blonde haired girl and she was excellent. She was also helping the majority of the restaurant. Stop on in and check out this fun & unique spot the. Next time you're up north! Can't wait to be back every weekend we are up at the lake!

We ate there so often…read morethat as soon as we walked in the door they knew our order, wouldn't even come to the table to take it just brought us our drinks and we knew the pizza was already being made. Now this Jake's is in a different location and much smaller but it is nice and clean and the people working there are very friendly. I moved out of the area but when I come back, I always go to Jake's as it is a nostalgic place for me. The pizza has always been decent until this last time when we came in October 2025. I don't know what happened but it didn't taste anything like before! The crust was like cardboard - hard and tasteless. The sauce didn't seem the same either as it was pretty bland. I talked with a few locals and they seemed to share the same opinion as me, it is definitely not the same as before. I was so disappointed and probably won't go back.

It turns out we arrived just at closing time (7pm), but Eva insisted on serving us and having us dine in rather than taking our food to-go. The pizza we ordered was wonderful and I would welcome a trip back there again to try other things from the menu. We were the last ones in the restaurant and Eva was so nice, to the point that she sat chatting with us into the evening, as if we were old friends who had paid her a visit. What an incredibly friendly and interesting woman she is! On the way home we talked about what an enjoyable evening it had been and how glad we were to have gone. "Wow, can you believe THAT?" was actually spoken by my friend, referring to Eva's incredible hospitality and easy conversation. We consider ourselves lucky to have arrived just in the nick of time before the door was locked, and went away feeling like we'd made a new friend. It's a bit of a drive if you're from Winnipeg, but if you feel up to a little road trip I would highly recommend heading out to Vita and stopping in at Eva's. My friend and I will definitely make a point of going back.
