For the second time in a month I have waited a ridiculously long time in the drive thru. Today it was a 19-minute wait for a Big Fish sandwich I order online. I asked the driver ahead of me how long he'd been waiting; he said "15 minutes." There was one car ahead of me and three behind me and I couldn't leave. I wondered if an employee had been dispatched to shoot a steer or catch fish. I decided to call the store. The person who answered apologized saying, "It's been a real crazy/busy day and I have to catch up on my paperwork." Paperwork?!? I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I won't be back. The reason that I am leaving a good review is because of how they are handling things during the pandemic. They are all masked and they have no contact with the customers. They use trays to give you your food and a bucket to take your money. At least there is that, so they are doing pretty okay as far as that goes. This is literally the best Burger King I've ever been to. I hated the food before but this is the only one that's been consistently good. Sometimes the wait is long but idc they're really trying and hustling in there. I never liked Burger King before but since it's the only place to get a dollar burger I decided to try it again and was so glad I did. Still won't go to another location or think "hey maybe I want some Burger King in Bakersfield today" (always gonna pick McDonald's lol but the burgers suck there too so), but whenever I want good hot cheap fast food in lake Isabella I'll go to these guys first. In less than a month or so, we went from 'fresh made/made to order' to 'must have been sitting out all day'. The last couple of visits, the bread was dry as hell, lettuce limp or nearly rotten, onions with no flavor, sour pickles, and over-ripe tomatoes. Meat tasted as if it was sitting under the warmer for hours and was dry. Fries were clearly 'recycled' from earlier in the day, we're not fresh, and looked like they attempted to retry them to warm them back up for the order. We we're asked to help them 'cheat' the clock by backing up and then pulling back forward so their drive thru timer would reset. The chicken nuggets weren't freshly made either, but at least tasted as if they weren't repurposed for nearly as long as everything for the burgers were. Asked for no veggies except lettuce and they decided to only put about 5 or 6 shreds of lettuce on the sandwich for excluding the other veggie's. Visited the Lake Isabella store before, a couple months back, and it was NOTHING like this...EXCELLENT food and service! Don't know what's happened but the only thing good about the last two visits was the friendliness of the staff....but it stops there! Understaffed or no, the food shouldn't be so dang awful! Lately, this food wasn't fit to hand a homeless person! If I served someone food like that, I wouldn't be in business. They should be ashamed of serving food like that when people are spending their hard earned money. Maybe we went when it was the closing shift, instead of earlier in the day like before. We were eating dinner, though. Clearly the closing shift takes no care in quality and serves food that's not properly stored and rotated. Also, the site says they're open until 11pm, another says 9pm, but the sign on the door says 6pm, including the drive-thru....? Maybe that's the reason for the dried out, soggy, or nearly rotten lunch leftovers at dinner time??? My husband and I went threw the Burger King drive threw, we have been here before and a few weeks ago they were understaffed so much that the new ChKing wasn't even available because they couldn't take the time, this time we waited in the drive threw for TWENTY MINUTES now we had only 2 people infront of us when we pulled in, 20 min later, one car at the order box and they had not ordered yet. Just like the other reviews say, this place is horrible! The store manager Aniya is extremely rude and should be fired! My boyfriend and I went through the drive-thru and ordered $23 worth of food. A few burgers, fries, and a meal. We asked for 1 ranch sauce and 1 bbq sauce. The gal working says she will have to charge for the bbq sauce. Lol what? She says any additional sauces cost extra. I ask, "So I can only have sauce with one set of fries but not the other?" She says the fries do not come with sauce. I just spent 23 dollars at Burger King and you won't give me 1 bbq sauce? WOW. So I tell them Forget it, cancel my order. I ask for a receipt showing proof of the cancelled transaction and they say they can't print me one because they dont have a printer. Then how did you print my original receipt?? After asking for the store manager, wretched Aniya comes to the window to YELL AT US that they dont have a printer and "it is on it's way up from Bakersfield right now". I ask her, "Would you leave without a receipt?" And she just yells, "There's nothing I can do, it's not my fault!" At this point I ask for the corporate number and she points to it somewhere in the window that I could not see. I ask her again, "What is that number?" And SHE YELLS IT AT ME, lol. All she could do was show me the screen of the cancelled transaction (which I took a photo of after having to get out of the vehicle). It's very unsafe to have a customer exit their vehicle in a drive-thru by the way. I told her this was all over 1 bbq sauce packet and as I was driving away she literally came through the window and yelled at us as we were leaving! BK could catch the action on their security footage of the drive thru window Feb 4th, 2020 at approximately 530pm. Her attitude was beyond nasty and I am appalled anyone would let her work there as a manager, she needs to be terminated for rude behavior to customers. Burger King isn't even NEAR what it used to be!!! Ever since they had to pay their employees more per hour not only did the service go to SHIT but the food did too!! The past few times I've been there and that means everyone of those times the crap I was served you wouldn't even eat in JAIL!! They use their oil for frying foods for weeks at a time before changing to fresh oil. Try looking at your crispy chicken sandwiches next time and you'll see how dark they are.
