Someone in the drive thru ordered chicken sandwiches. She walked to the cooler and grabbed 3 chicken paddies without putting gloves on or washing her hands. Next, she put the paddies in the fryer to cook them. I yelled out to her that she couldn't do that, she didn't wash her hands. The chicken had to be thrown away. All they did was tell me yes ma'am. And the young lady ran to the back of the restaurant. I said we'll I know I won't be eating here when she is working.... They didn't care.

It was okay here..pretty basic fast food, nothing particularly memorable…read more There were a couple of things that stood out during our visit today. The water nozzle on the soda machine had Hi-C leaking into it, so my daughter didn't want to drink the water. I also witnessed a young girl get sick and vomit on the carpeted floor. Her mom was understandably overwhelmed and went to the front counter to ask for a cloth or something to clean it up. She stood there for about 20 minutes waiting to be acknowledged. When a worker finally brought her a cloth, they handed it to the mom and had her clean up the mess herself. I understand that it's an unpleasant situation, but I do feel that staff should have handled the cleanup. This is especially true since it was on a carpeted area. The mom had already cleaned up most of the mess with napkins, so there weren't any chunks or anything like that, but I still didn't think it was very sanitary for her to have to clean it herself. Overall, the food and experience were just okay, but the cleanliness and customer service during our visit left something to be desired.

I ordered two 5 piece tender meals with two sides each. They had 2/4 sides and claimed the rest couldn't be made because they are closing (even though they had an hour to do so) so I had to substitute the other two sides with something different which they forgot. The chicken I received appeared to be the pieces that had been picked over all day because most were tough as jerky and incredibly thin. I luckily received a refund for the sides however I did not open the chicken to see what it looked like and now cannot get an additional refund for the chicken jerky I received. I had been here before during the day and had no complaints but I do not recommend going during the night shift.

They have a large parking lot that was being refinished when we were there, but there is plenty of street parking available nearby. The short line ahead of us moved quickly and I ordered a hot fudge sundae with soft serve. My boyfriend got a strawberry / chocolate shake. The high school girls working were super friendly and very polite, which was definitely noticed and appreciated! They take credit cards here which is nice to not have to worry about having cash. Dairy Barn is your typical small town ice cream place with cones, sundaes, "specialties," flurry-type concoctions, as well as hot dogs, burgers, fries, etc. It isn't anything super special, but it's locally owned, affordable, and fun to stop once in awhile. I think nostalgia really helps places like this as I'm sure people who went there as kids are bringing their children to Dairy Barn now too. My sundae was huge and towering with ice cream! The bowl it was in was definitely not big enough and I had to eat really quickly. Maybe don't get this for a small child on a hot day. The shake was good, but my boyfriend ended up wishing it was a malt. However, it was fun for me to sit outside at the picnic tables and reminisce a bit about growing up in Greenville.
