When the Burger King opened 15 minutes late oh, that was annoying. When I still had to wait for the door to open for the woman to pull the garbage cans away from the door after laying down the mats, that was irritating. But to see her walk in behind the desk and start touching her headset then the cash register and look up at me and asked me what I wanted. I told her what I wanted was for her to go wash her hands. She said yes yes yes. I said please wash your hands she said yes yes yes. I told her sorry, I have to leave. This place is a dump... it can't open on time.... the people aren't clean and I see. sickness in an atmosphere like this. Just purchased 2 meals and 2 Hershey pies. On our way home, we noticed a distinct smell of urine. We also noticed the smell were on the french fries as well. We noticed the fork wrapping paper for the Hershey pie was wet with a yellowish tint and smelled like it came from a public restroom. Not only was the food contaminated, but they also placed the refrigerated Hershey pies with the rest of the hot food rather than placing them in a separate bag like other locations usually do. We tried calling them for more than 45mins to speak with the manager, but it sounded like they kept hanging up the phone. Absolutely disgusted. read more

This is the nearest BK to me. So whenever I'm in a rush I'll pop by and get an overly sweet iced coffee or a water. You know, something that's quick and doesn't require getting out of my car. However, the quality of service, (not that it was high to begin with), has severely gone into the ground. All I really care about when ordering fast food is for those handling it to just do their job. I could care less if the employees would smile at me, ask how my day has been, etc. These past few years the attitudes of employees have been weird. It's been cringe. My son had to use the bathroom really bad. The employee told me I had to make a purchase. I agreed and asked if he could please let my son use the bathroom while I finished the order. He refused and said he would not unlock the bathroom until I had paid. My kid almost wet his pants because these guys wanted to flex their restroom authority. And it was like 3.50 for a medium coke. McDs would be $1 and they would let you use the bathroom no question. read more

This is the burger king located next to the capitola mall, not too terribly far (by car anyway) from pleasure point, the capitola esplande/capitola beach and is fairly easy to get to off the highway. They have their own parking lot which is more then big enough for the business. There will always be open spots, especially in the back. As far as the food goes, well it's a burger king. So pretty much the same as any other BK-excellent sausage biscuits and hash brown bites along with terrible coffee in the mornings, decent burgers with terrible fries the rest of the day. So what makes it unique you say? Well coming here is like playing the lottery. When it's open, staffed, and everything is clicking together this will put out cheap, fast, hot food that you'll like-even if it's not the healthiest. Yet at this location you never quite know what will happen. Sometimes it's open, sometimes it's not-this is particularly true in the morning. Every now and then it will run out of something-like hamburger, or soda. No really. Sometimes the card machines will be working, sometimes not. Sometimes there will be only one person working, the next day at the same time there will be 11 people, and just to mix things up more sometimes the lobby will be open with the drive through closed or vice versa. So if you like the feel of gambling-the exciting uncertainty of whether or not you'll get something truly good at a fair price or going bust with nothing at all-or perhaps only being able to order chicken without coke-then drop on by. I feel a little bad for only giving two stars, buuuut... I usually go through the drive-thru at this location while I'm on a break at work. The food is more or less typical of what you'd expect from Burger King, although I have noticed that, nine times out of ten, the fries are are soggier than they should be. I think my main gripe is the inconsistency with the service. I get that some inconsistencies are to be expected, as I am sure that there is a high turn over rate, it being a fast food joint and all...but I am so sick of getting the wrong order. I'm not taking away any points for the ice machine being broken (forever, it seemed, in the middle of the summer), as that is something that is beyond control of the workers...or having to wait to get my food (it has rarely taken more than 15 minutes from start to finish)...but...today I when I went through the drive through at this location, my order was wrong again. It's sad when you can anticipate this. I ordered a burger, large fries and a small coke. I specified that my burger should be dry-no ketchup, no mayonnaise. I repeated it several times to make sure they heard me right. I saw my order appear on the screen, so all good, right? I go to the window, and when I got my order, I noticed my coke looked a little light. Tasted it, and it was Sprite. Since I was still at the window, I asked the girl to switch it out for the coke I ordered. "You wanted a Coke?" Yes. I never order Sprite (but I let that go because "fries" and "Sprite" could sound the same through the drive-thru intercom thingie. I was offered no apology, no eye contact, or even a "your welcome" when I thanked her. I tend to be pretty big on customer service. I've practically had it beaten into me at every job I have ever worked at that you need to bend over backwards to make the customer happy (now, I wasn't expecting that kind of service at all, but at least be nice to customers who are being nice to you!), so when an employee acts annoyed and put out for a mistake that they made, it kind of rubs me the wrong way. But whatever, maybe she was having a bad day (still no excuse). I should have checked that burger at the window, as well, since I had that feeling-as I was ordering it-that they weren't going to get it right-but I felt bad that I was holding up the guy behind me, so I left. And drove all the way back to work. And there was mayonnaise and ketchup on my damn hamburger. Did I accidentally receive the wrong order? Well, the receipt stated the correct order, so???? I usually grab breakfast here whenever I accompany my husband when he goes surfing. I always order the sausage, egg and cheese croissanwich plus a side of mini cinnabon. Yesterday, instead of the cinnabon, I tried the french toast stick. I liked that one as well. Service is fast and friendly. The newly renovated dining area looks modern and clean. This location has not had onion rings, which I prefer over fries and is the primary reason I go here rather than to the "Golden Arches" place for my burgers, for over three months now. They feature them on their menu, but every time I have tried to order them, I'm told "we're sorry, we are out of onion rings." What gives? I have switched going to this location to the one on Soquel Dr.-they have onion rings, so it's not something that Burger King decided not to feature anymore on their menu, it's just the one location. Went through drive thru, person told me to wait, no problem. Two three mins go by & and I ask if they're ready they tell me to "be more patient" wait a little longer. Get up up to window they just stick hand out, doesn't bother to repeat my order or total amount receive my order no have a nice night or thank you, or do I need anything else waiting for my change & proceeds to do something else & they finally turn & gives me a look like what else do you want, ask for my change, doesn't say anything & taps real hard on the sign outside to use exact change Wasn't expecting the royal treatment as it is fast food but if you don't have manners or don't like your job you should go somewhere else. It's all about customer service. I'm in food service myself (hospital) & no matter how rude or fowl the the patient is they're still the patient & I still smile...so person with orange red hair get some training in customer service...won't be going back just because of them...might not be a big deal but the way you act can have an effect on someone else's day/night. read more

Burger King has a buy one get second for a dollar deal right now. First I stood at the counter for 5 minutes. There was no one at the counter. Finally the lady at the drive thru came over. I asked for a Whopper with a second for a dollar and an Original Chicken sandwich and a second for a dollar. She said I could only get 1 for a dollar. I said I will be 2 sandwiches for full price. She said you can only get 1 for a dollar! Okay I will take the Whoppers. When she gave me the bag I asked if I could get in the back of the line and order the chicken sandwiches and she said she was too busy! I finally got to try the Impossible Whopper and was pretty impressed. I don't normally eat at Burger King since I try to eat pretty healthy and don't eat meat. But, I do love Impossible burgers and really want to support any type of restaurant chain that is giving the people what they want. I know plenty of meat eaters who also really love the Impossible burger. I will definitely be returning soon probably with my meat eating husband who also loves the Impossible burger and want to try the BK Impossible Whopper. The manager there is very unprofessional gave me a milkshake half full told me it was right when it wasn't even half full with ice cream and asks do you want more whipped cream I'm like no I want more milkshake??? Then when we get home our food is messed up and our cini minis are burnt so burnt you can't eat them awesome thanks and half one of the fries is missing way to go BK thanks after charging over 25$ for everything and not being able to enjoy a good amount of it really sucks not sure if will be back there ever or any time soon. Gross I decided to see how this fast food chain was doing after years of staying away (heard they were serving cheesy tots) and also loving burgers and onion rings, omg how do they survive? The onion rings are all breading, and have a cardboard texture- I threw them out. The ranch dressing tastes like nasty oil, gotta have fresh made ranch- is that so hard to do? Get rid of your packaged preservative foods and add fresh food, think about the health of your customers and the planet. This crap has no place in Capitola. The chicken sandwich was ok, and edible I just don't trust where it came from because it was ready too fast. The service was crappy, who teaches these workers customer service? I might have liked my whole experience better if I got a smile and some genuineness, but He seemed uninterested in extending any kindness or warmth. Stopped in for the 2 for $4 breakfast deal. The place is in Capitola and looks clean and nice. The food was absolutely garbage. If I hadn't had to go to work after, I would have driven back and gotten a refund. The biscuit was crunchy and the bacon was so old and dry I couldn't even bite through it. I also got a sausage croissant that had obviously been sitting there for days. I added a soda for 3 dollars, so I ended up paying 7 bucks for inedible food. My dog ate it, but she eats bird shit so that's not saying much. Honestly, the bird shit probably would have tasted better. Ugh. I'll never get food from here again. read more

Normally I stay as far away from fast food restaurants as possible. But after a long night of Jager bombs and sprinkler dance moves, BK seems to be the right way to end the night. I hardly ever get meat from BK, I usually go for the french fries and milkshake. On this particular evening I got a large fry and strawberry shake. A friend of mine told me that dipping your fries in your shake is the best thing ever. I was a little skeptic but I tried it anyways. Now I am totally hooked. I mean WOW. I don't get the jones for a fast food burger very often and when I do I usually go somewhere else, but BK is better than the only other two burger joints in the neighborhood. I've been only a couple times but it's never been a good experience. They've gotten my order wrong, given me the incorrect change, and even given me the wrong order entirely, their responses to which involved a lot of eye rolling and sighing. The death blow came when I stopped by one evening last week and stood at the register for several minutes waiting for a cashier. Eventually the manager came out to inform me that the dining room was closed because they were short staffed. No signs, all the doors open, no indication at all. I am assuming that the nightmare of a manager has photos of the franchise owner doing something heinous because there's no way she has that job on merit. read more

Well, they did marginally better this time around, and based on what I have read I think they hired some new people to work the drive thru. The good: The order was filled correctly and neither of the XT burgers looked they had been walked on prior to being put in the gag. The bad: We had to wait in the parking lot for one of the XT burgers to get done. It's nice that it's fresh but I'm not going into the drive thru so I can sit and wait. Just went through the drive-through and when I got to the window I realized I messed up on an order and when I tried to tell the girl that I needed to change it she told me straight up that her manager was standing right there and that they wouldn't let her change my order because there were cars waiting. No offense but coming from somebody that's worked in hospitality for over a decade all I have to say about that is fuck that response. They need to work on their customer service skills especially the chick at the window because if a customer wanted to change their order than they should be able to do that without getting not only an attitude but also without getting rejected. The most mismanaged fast food restaurant I have ever been to. From locking the dining room right in front of me, no explanation so I had to ask. Just a rude comment about lack of employees and just walked off. The past few days, they have had no change, exact change or credit card only. Of course the sign was misspelled. Not just one day, but several days. Went to the drive thru the other day and of course another sign, "Beef products only", at least they still had the impossible burgers which isn't beef so made zero sense. When they take your order at the drive thru they never tell you what the total is, always a surprise. They are also shady when they read back your order. When you order a meal they always read it back as a medium, they don't ask if you'd like a small, medium or large. They must be trained to do that as every single employee does it. I could go on and on but they should just fire management and start over or close. It's too bad because Burger kings food is great, in general and elsewhere. read more
