Good food. Just wish they hadn't closed two of them in Olathe!! Have to drive farther for the whopper!

Like the place because it has plenty of room around. Burgers are good. However the service is rather slow compared to competition and the smell of burgers is quite strong. They would need better air filtering. read more

Finally was able to check this place out at lunch time yesterday, after hearing so much about it…read more There are not many burger places between Geneva and Lausanne, and those living here have very strong opinions regarding which grills up the best patty. This location is often argued to be one of the best. The location is easy, just a few steps away from the Ours Lausanne metro stop. The place itself is tiny and they squeeze as many seats in as possible. You can make reservations for a table if you call in advance. If you are more than one person, I would definitely recommend it. The menu is simply burgers - beef, chicken, fish, veggie. You have a choice for an additional cost of adding a side of salad or fries. There are also a few dessert choices, but I didn't see anyone get any, probably because there is no room left after packing away the burger. While you can order to take away, not all the burgers are available for that option. I ordered the Marius burger with frites. The salad looked fantastic as well, but I had to try the infamous frites. Everything was delicious, and the fries definitely lived up to their reputation. I still think for overall quality the burger bun at Rando Burger is better. Putting this burger place as my new second favourite for the area, closely followed by Inglewood as third. I had no complaints regarding the service. Also, be sure to end your meal with an espresso! One of my highlights was receiving my espresso in a Victorian tea cup, with a bite size nibble of their homemade brownie resting along side of it. Very cool. Plus, the coffee was good! Unfortunately, like most places, Zoo is only open Monday - Saturday. Interestingly, they are open for food 11:30 am- 10:00pm. But, per their website for drinks only they remain open until 12:00pm.

Pizzeria Azzurra had a nice outdoor seating area, so we decided to give it a try. I didn't have especially high hopes ordering pizza in France, but I was pleasantly surprised. Not the best pizza I've ever had, but certainly decent. I wish the egg on top of my pizza was runny, it seemed a bit overcooked. My friend said she actually enjoyed the pizza here than a lot of the pizza she has had in Italy! The service was a bit on the slower side, but that seems consistent for the area. Once you get the check, you can go ahead to the counter and pay the bill.

I'm slightly embarrassed to say that yes, I have had McDonald's in Switzerland and also happy to…read moresay that it's far superior to any McDonald's I've been to in the USA. When you order your meal, you also give them a number and you will get fast table service; a server will find you and bring the tray to your table. This is such a great location because like most cities in Switzerland, Lausanne closes up really early (especially Sundays!) so this is one of the last resorts for late night eats as it closes just before 2:00 AM in weekends. They have a lot of things that aren't available on McDonald's menus in the US and the food tends to be really fresh. They also make great french fries. It is right in front of main Lausanne train station, which is a bit dicey at night, but I don't think it's dangerous at all. Just walk straight ahead and don't listen to anyone if they ask you silly questions. There are two floors here and the top floor has a nice view with windows looking out onto the beautiful art deco train station across the street. You can order everything on the digital screens and you can also use the McDonald's Swiss/European phone app to order on your phone, although if you have a US phone and are roaming it may not let you download it. The most delicious thing I've ever had here was the "Raclette Burger" which had real melted Swiss Raclette cheese and a brioche bun; it was absolutely outstanding, but they don't offer that very often. It was just for a few months. The current double "M Burger" is amazing but has over 1000 calories. So definitely check the specials when you're ordering.

The croissant is nicely flakey and buttery (made with real butter!), and is served warm with a very tasty cappuccino. It's not a mind-blowing breakfast, but for 4.70CHF, it's a tasty and inexpensive option if you don't have time to peruse through a bunch of reviews to find the best cafe in town. Service was friendly and quick. The location is very convenient - right across from the Lausanne train station. The hours are friendly toward travelers - 5:30am to 1am (other locations in Lausanne have more standard hours). I haven't tried lunch/dinner items at a European McDonalds in a while, so would be curious to see what the quality is like. But for now, I'd say breakfast is solid!
