It has been a long time since I last visited Taco John's, primarily because this establishment has…read moreunfortunately experienced a noticeable decline in both food quality and service after new management took over. Today I decided to go in hopes of some improvements. The only good part of this experience was the customer service. The bathroom and sitting area was pretty clean but the trash can by the door was completely stuffed full and overflowing. The quality of their food hasn't changed at all and is just as disappointing as it was before. I could have eaten my entire soft shell taco in two bites with the amount of beef it was lacking. The potato oles are, in my opinion, the best part of my meal here but today they were not. The outside was very dark in color, crunchy, and hard with a heavy taste of grease. While the insides were not done at all, making me wonder if the frying oil is ever changed. I use to love eating at Taco John's but nothing about the food makes me want to come back here. It's always the same disappointing experience for me. I hope sometime in the near future this place realizes it and does something about it!

The phone order was taken efficiently and the two employees I talked to were friendly. I ordered a large Hawaiian pizza, 2 garden salads and two 2 liter bottles of Coke. The delivery to our motel room was timely. The food was very good! Salads were big and fresh. Pizza was excellent quality. Much better than the inedible one we had from Pizza Hut the previous month. Will definitely get pizza at this Domino's next time we visit Beatrice.

The place is exactly how I remember it. Small town hole in the wall charm upfront, dated attempt at upscale in back. Like a reverse mullet. But in a charming way. They had brown gravy on request which is always a big plus in my book. (White gravy is just sausage stuck in flour paste in my book, but that might just be me) The eggs and toast were cooked perfectly and delicious. But the steak sadly was well overdone and the breaking burned black. As a result it was dry as can be and had a bitter burned taste. The gravy helped but we were 2 steps from cremation so not enough. The people I was with got an excellent omelette and a single pancake that was as big as a dinner plate. All great food on their report. I would go back in a heartbeat. Not going to hold 1 bad item against them. Plus for me the nostalgia was off the charts.
