This is the best fast food in the area, and even better because it's privately owned and not a franchise. Anyway, they have hands down the best cheese fries I've ever had. I've been to many different states and no one comes close to these perfect cheese fries. It's not a pile of fries with a square of cheese melted on the top, or fries with nacho cheese on top. I can't even explain what this cheese is but it's a perfect cheese sauce that is mild yet still flavorful and pairs perfectly with the crispy yet potato-y crinkle cut fries. They are usually very generous with the cheese sauce also which gives them big points in my book! They also have a solid chicken sandwich, and I enjoy the burger called burger express, it tastes different from other fast food burgers I am not sure why. Their biscuits are definitely microwaved so pass on that. If I decide to be on the healthier side, I really like their chicken panini or wrap. It's grilled chicken with roasted red pepper, mozzarella and balsamic- very tasty and comes with a side of fries. The baked potato soup is delicious, it's thick and kind of just like eating mashed potatoes with all the baked potato fixings. They are always doing a "burger of the month" special and I've never tried any but they always sound interesting! I remember the inside being nice but to be honest I'm a drive thru kind of girl when it comes to burger express. Ok...so I'm not a huge fan of fried chicken and have only made it once (save micro aggressions). However, I used to live across the street from Burger Express and everyone raved about their chicken. I love that I can drive thru at any time and get deeee-licious mozzarella sticks! On this particular evening I called in an order for a 6 piece fried chicken, mozzarella sticks, mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese. (Pretty much avoiding cooking). Re: the macaroni & cheese and mashed potatoes...I knew better. I won't complain & that's all I will say. The chicken though! The coating was very good and crispy, the chicken tender. This place was recommended by a friend and I just happened to be in the area today and figured I would give it a try. What a mistake. I ordered a regular burger with extra pickle and what I received I wouldn't serve to a homeless person that was starving. Let start with the over size stale roll they use followed by the burger patty just around 1/2 the size of the roll and as thin as a white castle burger. Did I mention I asked for extra pickle. I guess 1 is what you normally get because I got 2... The cheese fries with gravy where actually good for the top part of the order.
