This place is very ok. If it weren't for the nice park to look at and the great playground nearby for the kids, the food and service would not be enough to get me out here. The burgers are very ok. The fries are alright. The prices are high for what you get. Le Burger is better and cheaper, franky. The service isn't bad, but rather impersonal. Some of the staff (not all) would clearly rather get back to looking at their phones than actually spend time serving you, lol! Nice tasty burgers. The fries are good too. The Gosser beer that's stocked at the hotel is very drinkable too. Today wasn't terribly busy, so we didn't experience any delays in having our order taken or food served. It did however appear to be playdate afternoon, with all the other dinners being parents with their children with them. And why not, there is a lovely green area to play in. We even had one child try to sell us a twig for 20c! Throughout our stay at the hotel we did notice that Burger de Ville was always busy in the evening time. So it might be slower later in the day. Eye catching from the get go and then the trail stops here Scooby! Don't expect fast and professional service here Shaggy! The burger came cold and that was about 50 minutes later. The burger was ok and the fries came 1 HOURS and 15 MINUTES later. The homemade sauce was ok, but the overall the experience was not great at all! I think the lunch time rush hour is too much to handle for the 2 waiters and the 3 cooks are just overwhelmed. The small RV style kitchen gets 5 stars for style and looks, but the trail ends there. I will have to try this location again after the lunch time rush to get it a decent review. read more

I liked this place. Its all outside at the bottom of the 25 hours hotel. There was a lot of kids around due to the play area in it but it wasn't to bad. The burger was very nice indeed and the fries were pretty good too. The staff were quick and our food came pretty sharpish. They also had a nice beer for us to sample as well. The idea is good. The execution is very, very poor. While I understand the trend towards the gourmet burger, it is still meant to be 'fast' food. When you arrive and are told that the wait for the take-away burger is one hour because there is no room to put new orders on the kitchen wall clip board it borders on the ridiculous! And I get that they were overwhelmed by the large dinner crowd but the service should be much, much friendlier! At least crack a smile every now and then! In the end, the burger only took 30 minutes and was actually quite good! The order was a little messed up as I got two portions of fries but no BBQ sauce. I insisted on the BBQ sauce but was actually quite disappointed. It had none of that characteristic smokey flavor. Having lived in the US for many years, I know what it is supposed to taste like. This place is definitely banging out the best burger in Vienna right now. Being seasonal, you can only get this during the warm weather. Those two crucial facts being said, they fall short of my coveted five star rating. Great: The burger really is the best in Vienna. The size is appropriate and the meat really tastes beefy and is free of the usual bogus seasonings that Viennese places feel the need to add to their patties (hello? mace? what?). In the US, this burger would rate as a bare minimum standard for a good burger and it's about on the level of, say, Shake Shack and is similar in style. The bun is right and my only complaint is that I don't dig the sauce, so I order it without. The setting in the park and the really good fries with homemade ketchup seal the deal. Most of the staff are friendly and good at their jobs. Not so great: I've never eaten here with a party of more than 2 when they didn't mess up at least part of my order. Sometimes, it is way worse than others. It also used to be slow, but they seem to have really worked hard to improve their flow and it doesn't seem to get as jammed up as it used to. Drinks are really expensive. Over 4€ for a draft beer. Kid drinks will bankrupt you. Sometimes they will accept no special orders at all (i.e. they won't leave the grody sauce off of the burger). Another time they refused to let me move a chair to accommodate an extra person at my table and other times they have no problem with it. Bad: They practice no demand management. People who show up when the restaurant is full must devolve into Lord of the Flies level fighting over tables. There's no clear sign of who is waiting for a table or who is waiting for a to go order. I stole a table from a birthday party once, and another time some people stole a table for which I had been waiting patiently for over 30 minutes. I think they should introduce a simple list and queue system for tables (no reservations is great, though). read more

Table side service, pleasant spot, price is OK for double burger, but a bit high for single, and quality of meat for temperature and taste is no where near the like of Charlie P's or said the butcher to the cow. On my quest to find the best burger in town, I've encountered many shapes and sizes, different tastes and fries, from the great "choose your own ingredients" burgers at Flatschers, to the XXL burgers at Fridays. But from all those tasty and complex choices, the ones that I enjoyed most were at Burger de Ville. Simple yet so freaking good that I had 3 in a row last time. The place is situated in a nice qnd auiet little park with a fountain right at the side of the 25h hotel. As a burger aficionado I would venture to say that this is easily the best burger in Vienna. That said - to put things into perspective - being a restaurant with best burgers in Vienna is not hard, since the rest of the places serve what can only be described as an insult to a burger or BINO (burger in name only). The rating is for burgers only: Burgers here are 4 (Austrian) stars (2.5 - 3 US stars - super high rating for Austria). They actually taste beefy and are quite tasty, but make sure to tell the staff to cook them rare otherwise your burger will be overcooked and dry. The service is slow and doesn't deserve more than 2 stars. Very often they will mess up your order - especially if you have more than 6 people in your party. Another definite minus is that the burgers don't come with fries (you can order fries on the side) and they charge extra for a small squirt of ketchup or mayo - WTF?! The portion sizes of fries are also small. This place is an outdoors joint and is only open between April-October. read more

Today was my first visit, as I have been hearing about this place for over a year now. I ordered the classic cheeseburger, but substituted the emmentaler (yuck) for cheddar and added bacon as well. Since it was my first time, and I quickly ordered, I forgot to order it with the double patty. You should order the double, because one will leave you wanting more. I also ordered the "Italian" fries (parmesan & rosemary). Don't buy drinks here - they're way too expensive in proportion to the burger prices. I brought my own water from home. The burger was excellent (for Vienna) and, so far, the best tasting one I have found, here, thus far. Up until today, that honor was held by Le Burger - which I still also like. The burger actually tasted how a beef burger is supposed to taste (based on my American tastebuds). I don't know why other Austrian places "doctor" up their meat with weird spices and produce cooked meat with odd consistencies. This place has it right, probably just beef and salt for seasoning. Close to what you might get at a Shake Shack. They really need to decide whether it's a gourmet burger place, or fast food. The burger, by itself, is priced right. Everything else is priced wrong. The drinks and add-ons will deplete your funds pretty quickly. Charging extra for every condiment - that's larceny. I appreciate that it's all homemade, but burgers, fries, and ketchup deserve to live together in harmony. I went around 13:30 and there weren't so many people there; it was easy to get a table. I have read other reviews and some people have had quite a difficult time in the evenings securing a table and determining a queueing system. The service was polite, quick, and they easily accommodated my special request to substitute the cheese. I was so pleased with my burger that I ordered a second one, as well - this time the jalapeño burger. I'll definitely be going back again soon. read more

Ya, maybe its a bit harsh to give this place a one star, but its basically a stationary food truck with arrogant service, uber long wait times, and not good enough prices and taste to make up for it. If you arrive and you don't know what you want to order immediately, the guy will make you pay for it by never coming back to your table. Then when finally he has decided you may be good enough for him to speak to again, you will wait at least 45 minutes to get food. I think its because there are not enough tables for the demand outside, so people who come after you for pick up get served first (meaning no one at the table gets their food because people keep coming at "taking out", and then sitting on the side. Smart... I wish I had thought to do that). Also sorry, but a waiter that does not indicate to you that you will pay for that half a splash of ketchup prior to charging you sucks. Burger joint with fries screams "dude the ketchup should be free". its like me saying "yes and I would like bread with my burger, charge me extra" Ok that's my rant. Go spend your money elsewhere because over here, they will make you feel like peasants thanking the lords for their graciousness to give them food two hours later. its an ok burger with soggy fries, but you should not have to beg to get food you are paying for. read more

Nothing about this food truck is what a food truck should be. It is not fast, friendly or innovative in taste. I waited 35 minutes for a take-out burger and fries, since they won't serve you in the grass, only to find that is was so small, over grilled and about half the size of the burger bun. The fries were soggy. The rest of my friends were told they couldn't even order food and would have to come back. So they ordered take out from Burger Macher and brought it back. Lame. read more

well, well, well. there are so many different opinions out there, one-star reviews and five-star ones... I can't really decide on which side should I stand. I don't think they deserve one star - the concept of Burger de Ville is really cool and the location - even better. I keep thinking to myself that if I don't know where to go, then Burger de Ville is the place to go, which is strange, because I actually think it's just because of the concept - the food is bad! Fries are incredibly salty, I have tried all three types of them. Having salty fries makes you wish to get something to drink - ha, very clever, this is the way they get you to order something extra. Burgers are not spectacular either, but I have to say that I am not a big expert in this field anyway. I had a BBQ burger and I could hardly finish it.... The same with service - there are some really friendly people working there and then some which don't bother to smile and probably just want to get done with their shift... So I keep going there and once I'm done with my food, I ask myself - WHY? Why did I come here? read more

Darn good burger. One of the best in Vienna. Only open during the summer. Could use a bit more seating. Not as fast as I'd like, given that it is basically a burger food truck. They seem to close a bit earlier than they should - at least they did last Spring. Topless homeless middle-aged lady wandering around in the park is a unique touch. read more
