The Company B 935th Aviation unit and the Company B 1-106th Aviation unit call this home. Both pilots and repair units stay busy here. Each weekend the Blackhawk helicopters make numerous flights across the SW side of Chicago and the southern suburbs. The flight path to enter and exit the airport airspace is east of the building closer to the fire department by Latrobe ave.

Not only are they HOT, but they are so, so, so friendly!…read more I came here with the boys I babysit so they could see the fire engines.. and not only did we get to see them, but we got a tour of the entire station, got to try on gear, and had our 6,452 questions answered by a very patient fire fighter! We also got to go inside both a fire engine and an ambulance - these guys totally made the day of two very happy little boys! And, if you're 21+, you can go out on a ride with them. Good times!

The customers were obviously regulars of this husband and wife spot. It was adorable! The exterior doesn't look like much. I almost thought they were closed. There is an L shaped parking lot that wraps around the back of the restaurant. Living downtown, I always appreciate easy parking. We were very happy to find that they were open. Once inside, I found a classic Americana diner that felt cozy and welcoming. Booths and a counter service are reminiscent the innocence we all long for. It was super clean and I felt quite comfortable with the safety protocols they offered. The sweet hostess/server greeted us warmly and sat us right away. She was friendly and very helpful. The owner stopped by to chat a couple of times. When I checked the time and mentioned it was close to closing time, she graciously told us to stay as long as we like. Before I left I was able to meet her husband who prepared our food. I told him how much I appreciated the quality of our breakfast and his talent in preparing everything perfectly. He was as equally gracious and friendly as his wife. I ordered a Veggie Skillet that was filled with tons of veggies and was very light on the oil. My Greek toast was thick and toasted to the perfect golden brown. My friend ordered some sort of Spanish omelette at the suggestion of the owner. It looked great and my friend loved it. The owner even stopped by and brought us each a piece of candy. I was enjoying the atmosphere, service and breakfast soooo much I forgot to take photos!! I never forget to pick up my phone to snap a few shots. So you know this was an incredible experience. I will definitely return and I won't forget to take a few photos!!

You can't park there or your car will be towed (see a picture of the parking lot with the sign below). I ended up parking my car at the much bigger parking lot across from the street. NO WIFI here either. The AC was functioning at the beginning so it felt comfortable, however it started to feel hot later so I didn't want to stay for any longer. I think this place is still worth stopping by during spring or fall when you're not driving because the food was good! Also there's a grocery store (Fair Share) across from this restaurant and I did get some things from there.

Lived in an apartment for disabled and seniors filed a complaint with fair housing about snow…read moreremoval so the apartment found a judge that would evict me with ou even hearing both sides after 7 months of lawyers using court powers to have me there twice a month I finally got pissed fired league aid lawyers walked out of court the manager of the apartment conifer real estate said I was working and getting paid by PayPal proved it was a bill then it was a dog which I paid for I am disabled and blind in one eye so after 7 months with out any evidence the judge evicted me for filing a complaint

I found my house the next day. Forest View is pretty dang awesome. The previous owner of my house was the parks commissioner and it shows! The park on 46th street and Wenonah is lovely it has... -tennis courts -sand volley-ball -a running track -a playground -well manicured path -and more In the winter it even had a skating rink! The next best part? The Forest View Police Station faces the park! There will never be shenanigans in that park, that's for sure! Other notes about Forest View: -nice clean quiet neighborhood -free garbage and recycling pick-up -fabulous library -FV Police -FV Fire Dept. ...all this for 700 people, pretty impressive!
