We had a long day of roadtripping ahead of us and decided to make a pitstop in Salida for coffee and breakfast. This wasn't my first time at Bunny & Clyde's, and definitely not my last! Cozy corner cafe that is situated a little over a block over to Salida's main drag. The humble cafe is exactly what you're looking for in a small mountain town: good food, reasonably priced, and a variety of options to cater your group. At first we were disappointed that they were out of their breakfast bowls, so we opted for burritos and treats instead. The burritos were huge, packed tightly with copious amounts of bacon, potatoes, eggs, and green chile. Yummy yummy in my tummy. My two year old loved the strawberry banana smoothie! They also had a carrot cake that looked decadent, but at 10am we couldn't do it. Service was quick and polite, order at the counter. They do have a changing table in their bathroom hallelujah!!! All in all, it's not flashy but it sure gets the job done. read more

The eggs aren't real eggs, they are out of a box. All of the food was premade, I don't go out to eat for leftovers I want fresh food. I do not recommend. read more

First of all, this is a walk in and order at the counter and pick up at the counter type place. Staff was super friendly and nice. The food was absolutely amazing! Everything was so delicious. One thing I didn't like was that we were there a few minutes before 11:30 and were only allowed to order lunch. The lunch menu is very limited, and they were out of some items. We had soup, and it was really really good. There are only a few tables inside and more tables outside on the patio, so we sat outside. They have no bathrooms. That was a big bummer. Had to go somewhere else and make a purchase at that other place to be able to use a restroom somewhere else. read more

Is there anything better than coming for a fresh movie and their buttered chicken? Me thinks : no! Love this place always. It's a must-go-to. Their little snack bites are also totally addictive. But you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Breakfast burritos are huge!! read more

Quiche it up! Should you have the opportunity (it's not always on the menu) order the quiche. Today was bacon rosemary-forward quiche with a light and. Flakey crust and a plenty of bacon. It's a special and not available everyday. The friendly staff suggested that we ask after it so they know if there is demand. Add to that the fun vibe of an old garage (these should all be bars and restaurants IMO) and it's a great way to start your day. read more

We were told to check this place out by another couple. It a transformed automotive garage trans formed ( in our opinion ) in to this nicely located restaurant. Seating outside available and it was a sunny day. This is a bustling restaurant filled with locals and visitors. It so interactive that it just feels so homy and invigorating. We ordered biscuits and gravy and the Clyde burrito. The biscuits and gravy were awesome and my dish came in a bowl with potatoes, topped with scrambled eggs, green chiles and cheese. Very very good presentation and very tasty. The coffee's were excellent as well and beans freshly ground. There are also a lot of other options of food from smoothies; fruit cups; desserts, baked goods, salads and soups. Many in gluten free or vegan styles available. I visited on Thursday at 11am and I was told they weren't serving breakfast - huge bummer. It was unclear if breakfast stopped at a specific hour, or they served it until they ran out. I ordered one of the vegan bowls instead and it was tasty! Their food (or their vegan options at the very least) definitely caters to the healthy side of food, with mounds of vegetables in every dish. I wasn't a big fan of the vegan burrito because of this, but it was a good option nonetheless. A few days later, I was able to order breakfast. The vegan biscuits and gravy were incredible. My husband ordered the vegan bowl and it was great as well. I prefer their breakfast to their lunch, but you'll have a good meal either way. read more

My latte and the services/ambiance were easily five stars; however, the breakfast burrito was pretty average. Everything was the same consistency, including the potatoes which I would prefer crispy. The breakfast burrito was premade so it was ready immediately but that may have contributed to the consistency part. Cute, cozy atmosphere- bakery and coffee shop. It smelled delicious as we walked in, so I had to try some food, too. The Beef Curry Stew was delicious! And gluten-free and dairy-free! Was looking for something that meets my version of healthy ... no grains or dairy. The breakfast bowl I picked, no substitutions, was great, generous and satisfying. There seemed to be a lot of staff but still they seemed hurried with minimal attention given to customers. I think most customers were regulars who didn't need attention. Stopped by on our way out of town and we got handed our breakfast burritos as we ordered them. They were piping hot and we had to let them cool down for a while before we could dig in. They were pretty good and I'd go back for another! We were so hungry we didn't take pictures. We also got a cortado and a sweet chai but the chai was very spicy and both drinks were so hot they burned us (our fault for not letting them cool). Cute coffee shop with small menu of hot food items with a couple of vegan options. We ate here twice during our stay in the area. The turmeric lentil dal was a bit dry and plain but a little hot sauce made it better. We went back for breakfast and had the Bunny burrito which was very tasty. Coffee was excellent. Absolutely delicious and healthful, real food, that's quick to boot! Unfortunately we arrived too close to closing to be able to order the Indian dishes so we settled in with (surprisingly spicy) breakfast burritos served with an incredible tahini sauce, and the veganized breakfast bowl, which was DEVOURED within seconds of tasting the rich and creamy vegan gravy. Finding perfectly roasted veggies underneath all of that delicious slop was just the cherry on top. Salida is a a lucky place to have this delightful cafe amongst its breakfast scene. read more

Was looking for something healthy & low fat for breakfast and I didn't feel like having a smoothie. I ordered the Flower Child, and added the green chili for a spice up -it was just a table spoon for $1 You are asked to tip before you even see your meal and there's zero service. Tables are filthy and not wiped. Every part of this bowl was heavy, greasy & over-flavored with who knows what, b/c I couldn't make it out. The mushroom gravy was "broke" and not at all creamy - terrible appearance, texture and taste. Potatoes were ok, but I couldn't get the mushroom gravy off of them -bummer. The veggies looked like they were made two days ago, and consisted of mostly Brussel sprouts (some chard black), white cauliflower, maybe a yam and there musta been a beet in there b/c red color ran on all the veggies. I picked around 4 bites and was done! I went to throw it away in the bus station some else threw their dish away too...looks like the curry bowl. Why wouldn't they notice this trend everyday? One star for my husband's green premade smoothie from the case. Wasted $15 and left hungry. read more

Stopped in Salida for one night during a 10 day "explore" Colorado trip. Found this delightful coffee/breakfast shop and had the best breakfast and coffee of the entire trip! Coffee was great but the food was below average. Egg bake was dry and the burrito was soggy from sitting too long. The pumpkin bread was also dry and didn't have great flavor. Wow! First timer here. Got sausage breakfast burritos for the family before heading to Monarch. Packed with sausage and egg. By far one of the best super fresh breakfast burritos I have had. Awesome little mountain town coffee shop with some great bakery and vegan options!! We had the oat milk chai tea latte which was really good and spicy.
