    Kamikaze burrito

This place cooks home style breakfasts. I had the kamikaze burrito and my wife had the cheesecake pancakes with bacon. Both were amazing and served hot with a nice pot of coffee. I would eat here again anytime!

Terrific Pancakes!! Definitely go with the pancakes, you can't lose! They are large and real!! Delicious!! Nothing fake tasting. Coffee is good too! Eggs Benedict not the best.

Hash browns have what tasted like season all on them, when asked the waitress she said no there is no seasoning, just salt. Salt is not red and orange in color. You could see that there was seasoning. the menu says nothing about seasoning on them. Then she just kept saying they are fine, they are fine and walked away. The toast was not toasted, it ws grilled on one side on the grill and soggy. She the went to the area were they pick up orders and I then have several different employees looking at me and saying derogatory comments about me. Waitress did not come back to table until husband was done with his food. She then asked if I wanted something different. Well no not now and why didn't you ask when I made comment about food in the first place. After waiting for her to take payment I asked another if she would please take and cash us out so we could go. She did and as she left the receipt for me to sign I heard the original waitress tell her well I comped $2.00 for the hash browns and offered to get her something else. Well you don't do that when the others at the table are finished eating and wanting to go, beside you never came back to check on the meal or refill drinks.

A yummy breakfast spot right off hwy 50 in Salida. The restaurant was clean and the service snappy. Everyone in the family tried something different for burgers to waffles and the breakfast burrito. Would eat here again

Exactly what I needed. Food was great. Service from a sweet nice spoken and attentive waitress who came to my table frequently. The comfort and surroundings were classic and clean. Pleasant Marianna and the never resting support from her team was a nice return to better times in dining. NO POS demanding ridiculous tips before resting and dining. Thank you

Food was really good, classic diner food. At least for breakfast. Staff was friendly and accommodating and prices were reasonable.

Pulled into the parking lot and electric vehicle chargers were like towers of hope for the power-deprived traveler. The menu looked limited. Was there for lunch. Breakfast menu looks extensive and good. Ordered a burger and turkey club and iced tea. Overall it's great. There were so many people with dogs or multiple dogs that sitting peacefully in the exterior seating area wasn't that peaceful as bickering alpha dogs tried to act dominant by whelping and arguing with each other. Wasn't a fan of the barking and screeching and loudness that lasted the entirety of the meal while observing the dog owners either oblivious to the mayhem or ignoring it while swiping on their janky iPhones. I won't dock points in this review due to the dog drama. It is what it is. Salida is a wicked dog-friendly town. I will return for breakfast. You should also. You'll be glad you did.

The breakfast menu has many items to choose from. Food was good. Typical fare for breakfast with some twists. Husband had 2 egg breakfast- all good. I had biscuits and sausage gravy and eggs but the sausage was green chile and the biscuits were cheddar-garlic. I didn't love this twist, honestly- cheddar biscuits yes but the garlic was not great for a breakfast dish. (I think my mind registered the biscuits as cheddar-chile when I read the menu- those would have been better with sausage gravy.). I will have the pancakes or French toast next time! But otherwise, great fresh food that comes out hot and nice people.

I tried the "Mr. Ed" for the first time -- WOW -- two eggs on a gigantic biscuit with sausage gravy, hash browns, cheese AND pork green chile. Sharon had a stupendous "Golden Malted Waffle" with two toppings -- the blueberry was good, but the apple was exquisite. Sunday. Sharon ordered the "Farmer's Omelet" with ham, onions (lots of these), cheese, smothered in sausage gravy -- but she smothered it further with a cup of green chile. I went with the "Simple Breakfast" of two eggs, hash browns, sausage links (which were to die for) and subbed the toast out for a waffle. Boy howdy. The staff are all friendly, attentive and professional. The atmosphere is laid back and rustic, and it's fun to listen to bits of conversation from the locals. It was almost all this way overdone breading. Not good at all. The "green chili" was as spicy as milk and equally as flavorful. My brother said the breakfast burrito was terrible. I saw it, and it did not look appetizing. Some of the "green chili" drizzled on top like an afterthought. Dry and uninspired. My son enjoyed his simple plate of bacon, eggs, hash browns, and toast, but those who ordered the Mexican food inspired dishes were majorly disappointed. As far as service, we waited forever to order. Our drinks were constantly empty. The server was very polite but things like missing items, missing silverware, empty coffees and waters starts to add up to a negative experience. Nice views outside and the place is clean so atmosphere is fine, but the rest was severely lacking.

Our breakfast was nothing short of fabulous!!! My wife ordered the Red Velvet waffles that had scrambled eggs and bacon on the side. I ordered the Eggs Benedict that was smothered in Hollandaise sauce and hash browns - not something that you will get at home on a regular basis. WOW!!! Both entrees were so good that it will have us coming back for more!! We had the privilege of meeting Willie as he was working the crowd. As we travel around the country, I find that if the manager/owner is working the crowd it's bound to be a great place - for sure in this case with Willie's. I told him that I call that "Leadership On Duty"!!! Three staff members also worked our table. Bow, Terri, and Summer, each had a division of duties and, as a result, we were really taken care of. The ambience was truly out of the western small town mode - clean, efficient service, and fabulous food. Four cups of the best coffee and a full stomach and was time to hit the road back home. Give Willie's a try as you will not be disappointed. Be sure to say "hi" to Willie, Bow, Terri, and Summer - they are the best.
