Easy to get to via the V19 bus. Various trails to hike, some more difficult than others. The main trail takes you to an open area, great for taking pictures, and even a picnic! There are tables where you can sit and enjoy a meal. There's a sidewalk towards the back where you get views of a nearby neighborhood. read more

I only found out about the bunkers when I clicked on yet another YouTube video from yet another travel blogger hoping to be the next Anthony Bourdain or Rick Steves. Since this was my third trip to Barcelona, I thought I should find an off-the beaten track attraction for Jamie W. and me that had nothing to do with Antoni Gaudi, FCBarcelona, or paella. Coincidentally, we came here right after a hefty paella lunch in Gràcia at Taverna El Glop (review: http://bit.ly/2hksAv6), which was a deliciously good thing since we needed all those carbs to burn off in order to make the climb to the top the hill of Turó de la Rovira. At least that was what we kept telling ourselves as we ticked off the staircase steps on our respective Fitbits. However, we were secretly hoping to discover some unadvertised funicular train that would take us to the summit but no such luck. We passed by quite a few scenes of Barcelona life along the way like a young couple waving at us from their speedy red Vespa and a middle-aged couple grilling an army of chickens on what looked to be a tiny hibachi in their backyard. Finally we arrived at the bunkers which were originally built as anti-aircraft fortifications during the Spanish Civil War. The location was chosen because of its strategic view of the entire city, and consequently, the panoramic views are the primary reason that it's worth the sweaty workout to get here (photo: http://bit.ly/2hmsgMz). Definitely not a tourist spot that most don't have on their lists. This is the one place that has some of the best views of the city. At either side, you can see how far it stretches. Not a difficult hike at all but it will take a bit of time to get up there. I would say it's very much an urban hike. Please respect the area as there are people who live in the surrounding areas. read more

Amazing view of Barcelona! Pictures do not do justice. We came here directly from Park Güell, so it was quite a hike. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes since it was about a 20 minute walk with lots of uphill. It was so worth it! The walk there is very clean and well taken care of--definitely more of a local spot. Would definitely recommend coming here for either sunset or sunrise. read more

Clearly the people that live around this viewpoint don't want you there, but if you're respectful of the hours and don't leave a footprint, then it is 1000% better than any other tourist spot that offers a sweeping panoramic of the city. You can hike up to it for some added calorie burn or get a ride, and it's a beautiful place for an early morning stroll or sunset picnic. I had a peaceful and pretty solitary morning to myself in the middle of the week around 9am and it allowed me to soak in all that is Barcelona before departing this dynamic metropolis. This is a must see if you ever find yourself in Barcelona! After seeing all the famous Gaudi sights, I came here for the sunrise and it was worth every minute of the 30 minute taxi ride. You'll find some graffiti and trash, along with a few other people, but the view is second to none! read more

5.2017 - BEST view of Barcelona as a whole located at Bunkers which is near Park Guell. BEST 360 degree view of Barcelona is within the Gothic Quarter at Basílica de Santa Maria del Pi. Access the tower via additional cost for a tower tour M-F at 12PM or 13:00. Weekends offer more options. The Bunkers are free but a taxi ride to the bottom (4 min. walk from there) of the hill is smart as it's in the outskirts of the city. read more

My second favorite view spot in Barcelona! An adventure of it self to get up there as many places are that I've visited in Barcelona . Walked for about 30 mins or so but well worth it. This is the spot to bring friends or significant others to hangout and admire the view. I would compare it to Grizzly Peak for those from the Bay Area . Many locals (ages 20's-30's)were hanging out here smoking , drinking , listening to music and having a good time . The view is breathtaking. You can see all of downtown 360 degrees. Plenty of spots to sit down on the ground , relax , snack and take photos. Very little shade so be aware. It wasn't an issue on the day I went since it was a little cloudy. It was May , but the crowds here weren't as bad as other places. Definitely a must visit when in Barcelona ! read more

My oh my! Attention tourists and locals!!! Bring the gang, the compadres, the boyfriend, the girlfriend, the soon to be wife, the family, or just solo to this gorgeous attraction of Barcelona!! The view is amazing and you can pretty much stand in any corner and catch a sitting bird's eye view of this magical city both by day and the sunset across the Mediterranean sea. Hike up a short trail and just sit back and relax. If you are on tour of this city, I recommend coming here on your last day in Barcelona. The mister and I ended our last stop in Barcelona here. We watched our last sunset before we headed home to LA. It was the best decision we made. We took the metro and the bus to get to the top. When we arrived, there were tons of people picnicking and waiting for the sunset. I wish we had thought about bringing vino and cheese. It's a beautiful view of Barcelona. You can see the water, Sagrada Familia, the W hotel, and the Torre Agbar - Agbar Tower. It's amazing. There were a ton of other tourists posing for a million pictures, and people often forget to enjoy the moment. It really makes me sad what the world has come to. Look at me now, writing about my experience, but my hope is for anyone who visits this place, take a step back and breathe. The world is amazing. The sun sets, and the pastel colors are painted across the sky, and the moon awaits to light up the night. Sigh... read more

Apparently this place was once a secret and not many people knew about it nor put it on their itinerary during a visit to Barcelona. But lets face it, now 2017 and I'm sure for the pass several years this place is becoming and getting more exposure. Only so as this is definitely the best view (and free) of Barcelona. Yes you can go to higher point in Tibidabo but it is too far and too high most places are indistinguishable. Tibidabo is nice but different. Here you are still close to the main city to see everything, you still seem close to places and the Sagrada is right smack in front of you clear as day. There are a few ways to visit here. The laziest way is by tax (or cheaper cabify--as there is no Uber here, cabify despite is name is not cabs, but basically their Uber app here) and have them drop you off right at the entrance on the Marià Lavèrnia street. If you use google maps and use the bus/metro there will be a few ways. The least amount of walk is the one that ends taking the 119 bus which drops you off at Marià Lavèrnia and just a little walk. Other routes that dont end at the 119 will make you walk a bit so be careful if you are not up to it.The walk may be too much for older folks or the lazy. As a lot is going up. If you want the more scenic route take the 32 that drops you off at Av. de la Mare de Déu de Montserrat, and you have a nice hike through the park/hills. So if you want to work for it and get a good exercise that rewards you with a view take this route. Other routes will have you taking the bus almost all the way up then walking the street loop to Maria Lavernia that the 119 would have taken you. So that is the semi-grueling way. Once you are up there, whatever way you took, will realize it was worth it. Most photos don't do it justice. Not going to waste time trying to describe it in words, but its definitely a must see if you want to see Barcelona in all it's glory. We went before sunset but didn't wait.But it was already starting to get filled. As mentioned earlier this place isn't a secret nor has it I'm sure for quite sometime.You could tell there is backlash as you will see many writings on the way up that indicate "go home tourists" I see it just getting worse so take advantage now before they start limiting visitors up here or just make it inconvenient to do so. Most who go up here are just soaking up the views, many photo ops, many bring food to eat as they watch the sunrise or sunset. Again, very worth it. read more

Great ! If you want a beautiful view at the top of Bcn you have to go there. One of my favorite place in here. You have to walk a little bit to join the bunker but the ride is really nice. The view is amazing ! Un endroit au top ! Aprés une petite balade dans le parc vraiment agréable, on arrive au fameux Bunker. Et là, la vue est magnifique. Practically hidden in a strange little spot is one of the greatest places in Barcelona. If you want a bit of Barcelona tourism without the scary rush of too many people and pickpockets (that stuff stresses me out), this is definitely your deal. That's not to say that tourism doesn't exist here, becaue it sure does, but mostly the people that you find here are teenagers that live in Barcelona, or that are here with their friends who live in Barcelona. It is an unavoidably long walk up the mountain to get to the top, which is annoying, but public transport can take you right to the bottom of the little mountain so that's nice. Once you get to the top of the mountain you see the best most beautiful view of the city you can imagine. You can see all the neighborhoods of Barcelona from up here! It is by far my favorite place for views in the whole city. To keep in mind, the bunkers aren't really in the best neighborhood to walk around in alone at night. The neighborhood is called Carmel, and it is known for being a little sketchy at night. In a group of people, or alone and in the light of day you're probably fine, but I would probably recommend going as a group, which is the only reason why I gave this place 4 stars, along with the fact that you have to walk up and that's a pain Oh also, on the top, there are certain barriers that keep you from falling off, but it could be a little dangerous for little kids, so just keep 'em close :) Boy do I love my city, but I gotta say if you want somewhere that almost seems like it has been untouched by tourism, this is a nice place. read more

Hands down the best view in the city. You can see all of the architectural highlights from the mountains to the beach as well as the part of the city on the back side of the mountains. The hike up is a pleasant adventure. From the peak, hike westward for approximately twenty minutes to access Park Guell. Would not miss this view! read more
