In case you get bored of Las Ramblas, but still want to walk along a big, easy road, then this is for you. It's a bit more rugged, but also more local as Las Ramblas. And that's a good thing. Lots of small, independent shops and even more lunch and dining options. From the dirt cheap (think Kebab shops and Pizza) to the luxurious (Tickets). Some grocery stores as well.
It's a main road with lots of traffic, but still we enjoyed strolling along this road every day we've been here. Walking down on one side, walk back up on the other. Goes for miles. Been here until around 11.30pm, never felt unsafe, it's a busy street, always people around.
It's a great walk. Start from the Plaza d'Espanya and follow it until you reach the harbour. You will also pass the famous (for good reason) Quimet & Quimet.....not right at this street though. Close to the east end you are also only one side street away from "Elche", where you can get fantastic Paella (not the touristy kind).
Loved walking here with our Bulldog. Sidewalks are very wide, so even with lots of human traffic, it never feels crowded. read more
