The Passeig De Gracia is one of Barcelona/Catalonia's main shopping streets, similar to the Champs Elysee of Paris perhaps, the street is huge, it is home to Barcelona's Apple Store which is over 3 floors, a few branches of Starbucks, and a few designer outlets and impressive buildings too stretching from Plaça Catalunya to Carrer Gran de Gràcia hence fully warranting the title of "Champs Elysee of Catalonia" or perhaps even of Spain as a whole, as it is one of the most expensive and largest streets/avenues in the region.
Gracia is quite nice, it seemed to be the talk of the town, which a large number of locals talked about when giving reccomendations etc, and part of it was close to my hotel which was good, but because of it's size, it probably is close to a large amount of hotel and things around Barcelona which I did notice during my week their in April.
There even is a hotel on Gracia, Hotel Majestic which is an impressive building, which is a five star hotel which even Spanish royalty have stayed at in the past.
There are two metro stations along here, Gracia and Diagonal, even with many bus routes also which is pretty handy if you are traveling on public transport.
Spain is a place known for sunny weather so when that weather is out in force, this is a nice place to walk around and shop, but perhaps it is somewhere to avoid in the cold and rain due to being all outdoors as you walk along the shop-front, while considering the lack of navigation or maps perhaps to find a store, the fact this is always going to come second to the Champs Elysee and other factors discussed, I feel Gracia only deserves more of a high three star rating and is good, but not phenominal to be worthy of a higher score. read more
