I live in Canada and managed the work remotely by phone, text, and email, after meeting him in person right at the start of the job. I contracted with Kelly after speaking with several other candidate electricians, because he was super communicative and responsive, explained his process and thinking clearly and thoroughly, and had long and broad experience with electrical panel replacement and upgrade projects throughout the SF Bay Area and up and down California. This was Kelly's first project in Palo Alto, and he was persistent and conscientious when navigating all the hoops and roadblocks thrown in his path by the City of Palo Alto permitting and engineering department, which seems to have a very different (and shockingly inefficient and painful) approach from other surrounding municipalities. He collaborated with me when needed to follow up and push things through the City of Palo Alto, and frankly after my own experiences with them, I'm even more impressed with Kelly's perseverance and patience in doing what was needed to get the job done. My mom's live-in caregiver also gave Kelly rave reviews, saying he was always kind and gentlemanly whenever he visited to carry out tasks for the panel replacement job. Kelly did careful and neat work, and the new, upgraded panel works well and looks good and very professionally built. And the quote we received once the full scope of work became clear was honored throughout the project, even though I know Kelly put in a lot of extra hours driving around and haunting the halls of the City of Palo Alto to get all the right paperwork put together and finalized and signed off. Sticking to the original quote speaks to his integrity. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kelly as a knowledgeable and easy-to-work-with electrician who will do a great job for you on whatever electrical project you have for him. Based on this experience, we'll be calling them again as the need arises. From initial contact through completion of work, they were thoughtful, attentive to detail, offered very clear communication and worked in a timely fashion. A human being answered the phone, which was a great first sign. She listened to our issue, asked for further details, and provided that information to the electrician who came out. We received e-mail and text from dispatch letting us know when Danny was on his way. It included a photo of him so we'd recognize him upon arrival (in case the clearly marked work truck didn't give it away). Upon arrival, Danny read back the information he'd received, which enabled us to move ahead with the project rather than spend time explaining it all over again. He located a third plug we hadn't even known had not only tripped, but melted down - plug, wiring, and on up into the wall. (We were lucky we didn't lose our house.) In short order, Danny had replaced all three GFCIs, replaced the burnt wiring and connected them in a manner which may be safer in future (no idea what original installer was thinking) and made suggestions at our request for some future upgrades to the system here. The work ran us more than a grand, which wasn't sweet, but we felt like we got professional work in a timely fashion.

Norman went above and beyond, for every step of the way. He attended my onsite meeting with both my client and myself, to talk through details. He considered where the buffet was going to be, where the stage was going to be - and then even sent me notes on planning. He was even able to provide the generator needed to maintain the electricity levels needed to cook the meal. The night of the event, I arrived a few hours early, as we do to start preparing the food. Norman had not only already arrived and set up, and was testing lights and sounds - he had showed up earlier that week to set up the stage and space for our event. This led to a seamless evening - as everything had already been put where it needed to be put. I've been the vendor at weddings that the set up is still happening when we're arriving to start cooking the food - and it's chaos. Not with Norman! For the lighting and sound of the evening - it was amazing. On the side, I also work in many local theatre groups - and his efforts were among the best I've seen. With great touches, downloaded additions, and his attention to detail - each number by each performer had it's own unique lighting and backdrop - and the music had absolutely zero hitches. We've all been to a theatre show, and had the sound go out - not with "Light and Sound" - the music was flawless at every stage of the night!
