We had two GFCI's trip last week. Decided this wasn't a simple DIY project, so contacted Elect Electric upon referral by AM Sun Solar (which has also done quality work for us). Based on this experience, we'll be calling them again as the need arises. From initial contact through completion of work, they were thoughtful, attentive to detail, offered very clear communication and worked in a timely fashion. A human being answered the phone, which was a great first sign. She listened to our issue, asked for further details, and provided that information to the electrician who came out. We received e-mail and text from dispatch letting us know when Danny was on his way. It included a photo of him so we'd recognize him upon arrival (in case the clearly marked work truck didn't give it away). Upon arrival, Danny read back the information he'd received, which enabled us to move ahead with the project rather than spend time explaining it all over again. He located a third plug we hadn't even known had not only tripped, but melted down - plug, wiring, and on up into the wall. (We were lucky we didn't lose our house.) In short order, Danny had replaced all three GFCIs, replaced the burnt wiring and connected them in a manner which may be safer in future (no idea what original installer was thinking) and made suggestions at our request for some future upgrades to the system here. The work ran us more than a grand, which wasn't sweet, but we felt like we got professional work in a timely fashion. read more

I needed to have a repair to some 12 volt porch lighting. I spent $350 on a service call to assess the problem. I understood that would be deducted from the $1,000+ estimate for the repair if I decided to ok the repair the same day. When I called that afternoon to go ahead and schedule the service, I was told the $350 would not be deducted because I hadn't ok'd it during the service visit. I will find a more reasonable electrician to do the repair. read more

I am in the process of acquiring a permit for my ADU. I was informed to get an electrical inspection to provided documentation that all is safe and compliant. Due to the holidays I was unsure if I could get someone out to the home on such short notice. Elect Electric was quick to respond and was able to come out in 24hrs. I had just bought a vacation home in Paso Robles. After seeing their good Yelp rating. I set up a appointment for when I would be in town for only a couple days. First the work was excellent. My mistake was telling the service tech (Danny) that I had to leave in 2 days. I feel that he took advatage of my situation, in his pricing. That I would not have the time to call someone else. The tech changed me $2,023 for the installation of 2 fans, I provided and the install of 2 outlets. Total time from start to finish, 4 hours, 20 minutes. That works out to $450 per hour and maybe $20 in parts. I asked for an hourly rate, but was told, the price is by the job. It was my fault for accepting the price, but I didn't have time to call another electric service company. I wonder how many more people have been taken advantage of by Danny and Elect Electric. read more

I hired Elect Electrical for some indoor kitchen lighting work. Danny arrived on time. Danny did not have a mask on, and I offered to get him one. He refused it, saying he doesn't wear masks and turned and got back into his truck. In this day of a pandemic in which there is a contagious virus with no known cure and 180,000 deaths in the USA (and counting), for work inside a private home, all service people should wear a mask. It is irresponsible, ignorant and unacceptable not to do so. I was, to say the least, very disappointed. I would leave a zero rating if I could. I called the office and told them about this episode. I also said that I would give them another try as long as whoever came back wore a mask. They refused. read more

This was an all around pleasant experience starting with the first call. Someone answered the phone, Yay! I believe it was the owner's wife. She made an appointment and followed up with an email to confirm. 40 min before the appointment time Danny called to let me know he was on his way. Our need for service: We mounted a television on a wall above a closet door but had unsightly cable and power wires hanging down the wall. Now this may sound simp,e but I had previously had the cable company and a different electrician out last year without a resolution. Danny was able to re-route the cable which was on an adjacent wall and install an outlet so everything is behind the TV and out of site. I appreciate that he gave me options on different ways he could route the wires. The workmanship is outstanding. He was very respectful of my home, taking care to cover the work area with plastic and cleaning up after. Very reasonable price too. read more
