My son went to Bumblebee when miss Tammie first started. Can't tell you how much we appreciate her and her family for their kindness toward my son . He was mild on the spectrum, we needed help with transportation from his speech class daily , miss Tammie's Father stepped in to help . My son with his occupational therapy at time , was not an easy kid when it came to meal time . I was recently told by his older brother that he "always sneaked in the back room to find food with Grandma " Our times with Bumblebee were wonderful, kids have only great memories with all the staffs and family . My boys were cared for , they were always happy playing and learning . Personally, see the school from its starting days , I had seen Miss Tammie put great effort in building a safe and fun environment for kids . The school was always clean , plenty of toys and books . And you couldn't say enough about the hot meals , so convenient for us working parents. Both of my boys are in Highschool now and doing great , especially my younger one , he's doing exceptionally well . Thank you miss Tammie and family for your care during his early years

This school was like a breath of fresh air when I couldn't find a place for my daughter. Tammie is one of the nicest warmest people I've met and made me feel completely confident my baby was going to be in good hands. The school is located in a really cool part of Santa Ana, inside what seems like a compassionate church that cares about it's community. It feels almost like it's not in the city, it's surrounded by beautiful trees that provide great shade for the playground and is right next door to an awesome community farm. The teachers and staff are patient, caring and flexible which is something I really appreciated for my baby. Bumble Bee Preschool is a great place, and kids there just seem really happy and cared for. I highly recommend this place.

We love Bumblebee and are sincerely grateful for the help of Ms Tammie, Ms C, Ms Katie, Ms Rosa, and so many others who have helped in raising our family! We have two graduates and a third kiddo who has only been there a month but he's already bringing home new skills. Thank you for providing a loving and nurturing atmosphere for our kids to grow and learn!

Love this preschool and will trust them like family. My 6 year old went there from 2y to 5y. MS. Tammie, Ms C., Ms. Katie and Ms. Laura are sweet and sets good boundaries. They are Academic focused. They help me tremendously with potty training. Greart job with taking care of daiper rashes for my boys. We still meet with some of the parents that had their their. I have my little one there now and he loves it! Its in a safe neighborhood for easy drop off/ pickup.

I just love love love this preschool all the teachers and Ms. Tammie is amazing. My daughter was there from 2020-2022 everyday she was happy, and learning something new when she graduated, her elementary school was so impressed as to how much she already knew, and I owe it all to this pre-school. Bumblebee is by far one of the best preschools for your little ones.

The teachers, and Melinda, provide a safe learning environment. My daughter started August 2020, therefore I can only speak of experience after the pandemic. I must say Melinda and staff handled all of the guidelines to perfection. We were always informed of the latest regarding Covid. AIL is clean and I never felt like it wasn't. My daughter always came home happy with stories, and work, to share. AIL has an easy drop off and pick up system. It is all done through an app. With this app teachers also post photos and daily activities. I always knew what my daughter was doing that day. Communication was also very open. Melinda always responded to emails, and teachers always responded to messages from the app. My daughter always came back happy. She was safe and loved. I pulled her from AIL because I wanted her to attended the same school as sibling. She was very sad to leave her friends. She was devasted to leave the teachers she has known since age 2. I also want to add that Ms. Nora greatly helped with potty training. My daughter saw other kids with underwear and Ms. Nora assisted with encouraging her to get rid of diapers and be a big girl with underwear. I highly recommend AIL. Safety and my daughter's social emotional being were definitely met.

Threatened with Disenrollment for Asking a Simple Question…read more I rarely write public reviews, but my recent experience with Little Scholars Academy and staff member Shehara Devendra left me shocked and disappointed. The issue began with something simple: I dropped off extra clothes for my child and was told they would be labeled by the school. Later, when I picked them up, none had been labeled as promised. I politely messaged the school, explained the situation, and respectfully requested that only the unlabeled items be returned so I could label them myself. What I received in response was not acknowledgment or accountability, but vague reassurances and generic replies that completely ignored the specific concern I had raised. Instead of acknowledging the oversight, I was told to "trust the process" -- as if my concern was rooted in distrust, when in reality I had simply asked for follow-through and clarity. I remained calm and polite in every message, even thanking them multiple times. At no point did I use disrespectful or inappropriate language. Despite this, I was later told by the Director that my child's enrollment could be discontinued if I was ever "disrespectful" again. After receiving that email from the Director, my family felt humiliated, anxious, and unsure of what to do next. After much hesitation, we decided to email the school to withdraw our child from enrollment. The school replied, asking us which date we wanted our child's last day to be. Because we were unfamiliar with their withdrawal process, we politely asked for more detailed guidance -- specifically, what the procedure would be and what date would work for the school. Instead of receiving any instructions, the school simply stopped responding. Then, one morning at drop-off, I was confronted at the door by staff member Shehara. She blocked the entrance and demanded that I give her a specific last day for my child's attendance. This was done while my child was crying in fear and distress, and while other parents were lined up behind us trying to drop off their children. I asked her repeatedly if my child was allowed to attend class that day, but she replied that she "didn't know" and insisted I give her a date immediately. In the end, I had to almost ask for permission for my child to enter class, promising I would confirm the withdrawal date later that day. Only then did she allow my child to go inside. This was not the only example of pressured compliance. Shehara insisted we purchase the school's preferred diaper brand, even though we already had a large supply of another suitable brand, making us feel that noncompliance might result in mistreatment of our child. The Director, who has never been present during our drop-offs or pick-ups, nonetheless defended her staff without ever having witnessed these incidents. Rather than working with us as partners in our child's care, they created an environment where asking a simple question was treated as a disciplinary problem. As a parent, I believe in collaborating with teachers and staff, and in standing up when communication breaks down and basic respect is lacking. I expected better from a school entrusted with my child's care. It's disappointing that a parent raising a simple concern -- calmly and constructively -- could be treated as a disciplinary problem, then later confronted publicly at the school door, instead of being treated as a partner in their child's education. I share this experience in the hope it brings attention to the importance of accountability, empathy, and clear communication in childcare. Parents should be able to ask questions and express concerns without being threatened with disenrollment, ignored when seeking guidance, or put in uncomfortable and public confrontations during drop-off. I strongly urge parents to consider these experiences before enrolling at Little Scholars Academy. Your family deserves a school that values transparency, respect, and true partnership with parents.

Especially since I am pretty much a stay at home mom, and love spending time with my kids. I would only send my kids to a program I felt would offer something more nurturing for my son to be in than with his loving family. The preschool here is clearly the best maybe in all of CA, especially with Mrs. D. as the director. I was amazed at how much she cares and how much effort she puts into her program- activities, teaching the child manners, habits and, most important for me, the overall development of each personhood. She teaches her own class, unlike all the other directors I've toured with. Some other places I've toured was with ChildTime in Orange (closest to my house, but it's clearly the worst quality. They have the best outdoor play space though), Trinity Lutheran (2nd to the worst- also very close to my house), St. Cecilia's (very good), Ni Hao (pretty good), Renascence (not that great but learning to become trilangual is pretty awesome). Within just a couple hours of touring with her at Holy Family, I knew it was really different than all the other preschools with just the level of care she put in to get to know my child, and explaining how her class is run, explaining why she does things, knowledge about child development, etc. She was so patient with him too. I remember my son knocked down a pot of plants for fun and I was trying to force him to say sorry, and I found out she doesn't force kids to say sorry because she wants them to say sorry only when they really mean it- which was very insightful to me. Did I mention she has the play dough made fresh for her class every month? She also keeps her classroom very clean and does great art projects, and had high quality cookie cutters in shape of snowflakes during her 'winter' theme lessons when I visited. Also, this program has the BEST RATIO- it's 2 teachers to 8 kids. This is the only way I believe you can even attempt to do more enriching activities with such little ones. Childtime and Trinity Lutheran was 15 three year olds to ONE teacher which is just insane... The poor teachers there looked very exhausted and put out. Other teachers at Childtime I noticed didn't seem like they cared what was going on, and the kids looked mindlessly bored or just sad to be there. But like I said, I'm a stay at home mom so my needs are different. I'm not looking for a place that will keep my kid all day long because I need to work. I'm simply looking for a place I can take my kid for a few hours for an educational, enriching and nurturing experience regardless of cost. Although, ironically Holy Family was the cheapest of all the preschools I have visited. I wanted to write a review about this preschool like few months prior when I was doing a lot of preschool shopping, but I was on the waitlist and I didn't want to create more unnecessary competition for myself haha. Anyway I got a spot for my son next year so I can finally post this review.

Once I got out, I clearly heard Miss Allie yelling at him in a very aggressive manner. I immediately communicated my concerns to the director. Later, I received a phone call that felt dismissive, offering excuses such as Miss Allie "raising her voice because she was sick and losing her voice." That explanation was unacceptable given what I personally witnessed. After this experience, it's unfortunately very clear why my son no longer enjoys going to school. Hearing an adult speak to a young child that way was shocking and deeply disappointing. What makes this even harder is that there are wonderful teachers at this school--teachers like Miss Neyra and many in the older twos classrooms who show genuine patience, compassion, and passion for caring for children. Sadly, there are also teachers who seem to lose their temperament far too easily, and Miss Allie is one of them . Today's incident has left me very concerned about how children are being spoken to when parents are not present.

When I enrolled my son, he had just turned two. He had always been cared for by relatives, but I wanted him to have the chance to socialize with kids his own age, as he is an only child. My son is neurodivergent and nonverbal. After about a month at this school, my son was still having trouble adapting. He would cry every morning at drop-off and, according to the staff, seemed unhappy throughout the day. I attributed this to the adjustment period, knowing that some children can take months to settle into a new environment. Unfortunately, things escalated when the director pulled me aside and told me my son was "making the school look bad." I was asked if he was autistic or if he had a disability that meant he needed to be in a different environment. That is not something any parent wants or deserves to hear. The school also refused to accommodate his needs--no comfort items like blankets or stuffed animals were allowed. Eventually, we were told we could no longer attend due to his excessive crying. I want to add that my son is not aggressive in any way. In fact, he was bitten twice by other children at this facility, yet my son was the issue. I am honestly relieved we left. My son now attends a different daycare with other children and absolutely loves it. He's thriving, participates in all activities, and the adjustment only took three weeks. I would not recommend this school to anyone, especially families with neurodivergent children. The attitude and lack of compassion from the director made it feel like my child was being treated as though he had a contagious disease.
