I've raised 3 children, have enrolled in multiple preschool programs, and Foothill is one of the best. I am glad my 5 year old has spent the last 3 years of his life at this school!

However, they need to change how they watch over kids on the playground. I would get there early and sit in the parking lot while my baby slept and I noticed the teachers would gather around and chat during leisure. It caused me some pause, but I brushed it off. I understand the want to socialize. I saw, on multiple occasions, kids fighting or pushing on the playground and the teachers didn't notice, but since my kid wasn't involved; I kept to myself. Later that year my kid was grabbed inappropriately and we sent Marci an email to discuss. We set up a meeting and they assured me nothing like this would happen again and that they would keep a closer eye on them and follow up with his parents. I just found out that it did happen again. It was worse this time. My husband also wrote a review about this and the director clicked it as funny. That's ridiculous and completely insensitive. I have attached a picture of our first email so you can see for yourself that what we are saying is true and that she did know about it. I'm disgusted she would try to cover this up. I regret not coming forward about the lack of playground supervision earlier. Hopefully, this changes things and no other kid will go through something like this. As far as the report goes, you're right, we didn't file one because we thought it was being handled. We will be filing a report. Side note: The classroom size was also 20 kids, though not every day was that many; I know because I invited every kid in her class to her birthday and that's how many invitations I had to write

My son loves her very much. Even though English is not his first language, she always finds great ways to communicate with him and has helped him tremendously in learning English. The Director, Mrs. Mauro, is very responsible and caring. She knows every single child well and takes time with parents to discuss each child's growth and needs. With the cooperation between the school and parents, children truly get the best support to grow. Edgewood also offers a variety of fun activities and even field trips, which both we and our child really enjoy. Before choosing Edgewood, I toured many daycares and preschools in Irvine and Tustin. What impressed me the most about Edgewood is the amazing student-teacher ratio. Their teachers are always energetic, passionate, and have been working here for many years -- the turnover rate is very low. If you are looking for a school with small class sizes where teachers can give more attention to each child and really get to know them, Edgewood is the best choice. The teachers here truly love every child. And beyond all that, the school offers excellent value for the quality of education provided in this area -- something that makes us appreciate our choice even more.

I want to especially highlight Mrs. Mauro, the Director, and Mrs. Barajas, my son's classroom teacher. Mrs. Mauro is a very responsible and attentive leader. She knows every child well and communicates with parents in a smooth and timely way. Whenever there's a question or concern, she addresses it right away, which gives me so much peace of mind. Mrs. Barajas is incredibly gentle and patient. My son is quite energetic and not the easiest little one to guide, but she always takes the time to teach him with kindness and understanding. I'm truly grateful for her dedication. As a parent, it makes me feel very fortunate to have such supportive and caring educators helping me on the journey of raising my child. Edgewood is truly a wonderful place for young children to learn and grow.

We wanted him to take his next steps with learning and experience things beyond what we could offer him at home. He got exactly that and then some. His teachers did a fantastic job getting him through the Pre-K and TK curricula; we still have a lot of his old school work showing how much he had learned and how much practice he had gotten. He would frequently speak fondly of his last teacher, Ms. Jackie, as well as the friends he played with at school. There was a classmate he would refer to as "Melon" that we think was his best friend and we thought it was so cute. We'd like to give our thanks to all of his teachers - Ms. Jackie, Ms. Emily, Ms. Nikki, and Ms. Bella! He really enjoyed the variety of extra curricular activities offered at Newport Ave, like dance, music, soccer (his favorite), arts and crafts, and taekwondo (his other favorite). As parents, some of our favorite things include the winter holiday performances, the picture updates on Remind showing what everyone is up to throughout the day, and the final letters from all the teachers he had connected with over the years. Ms. Mayra was a pleasure to talk to when dropping him off in the morning, as were the other teachers when picking him up at the gate. Communication over the Remind app is super simple and responses tend to be very quick. Since starting kindergarten, Nate has become a top performer in his class, and we believe Newport Ave Preschool deserves a great deal of the credit for that. We're so grateful for everything this school gave him.

We have seen changes with leadership, communication, policies, teachers, and general day-to-day flow. There are great teachers who you know truly care, love, nurture, protect, advocate, and educate a child about Christ's love! Even if you're not a believer, the teacher's actions will radiate Him. Childcare is neither easy nor cheap. Shepherding a child, no matter what age, takes a person's time, mind, hand, and resources. A parent should truly make a sound decision, with that as a backdrop, prior to enrolling anywhere. Please do your due diligence and explore other schools to find the right fit for you and your family. I pray for Grace Harbor to excel and serve the community even if drastic changes need to be made. We've been at Fairmont North Tustin campus for 3 years. I thought it had a health office and health…read morestaff (I'm not even asking for an RN, just a health staff member), just like other schools. All Irvine public schools have health rooms and health staff on campus. Stupid me -- I assumed that at the very least this so-called private school would have such a fundamental facility and staff. But no. Today I found out there's no health office and no sick room where a child can at least lie down for a while until a parent arrives. I'm in shock. What kind of risky, scammy school have I put my child into for the past 3 years? This campus just spent a lot of money on expansion and also raised tuition fees. It's ridiculous to find out that behind all those price increases and fancy upgrades, no one seems to care about students' health -- and none of that money appears to have gone toward improving health support for the kids. No health office. Not even one health staff member. Not even a sick room for students to rest. -- In response to your reply: Thank you for reminding me -- although your non-medical staff determined (since there is no health clerk or school nurse on campus) that "it's better to remain in an upright position in a chair, while ensuring attentive care and comfort," when I arrived, my pale six-year-old child was kneeling on the ground, coloring on a piece of paper and using a wooden bench next to the reception desk as a flat surface. There is no health clerk. The temporary reception teacher was busy with her own duties. I did not see any "assured attentive care and comfort." Instead, I observed teachers who appeared reluctant to be involved, likely because without a designated health staff member, temporarily caring for a sick child simply adds to their already full workload. Where is the "bed" or the "attentive care and comfort" you mentioned? All I saw was a small, cold wooden bench near the reception area, with people walking around. Considering the level of tuition families pay, our children deserve more than this. Three different staff members confirmed to me yesterday that there is no bed available for a sick student. Therefore, the only way I was able to learn that such an option supposedly exists was through a Yelp review. Reality is reality. Parents, please do your research before sending your child to a so-called private school: * Is there a health room or a designated sick resting area -- like those available in Orange County public schools? * Is there a school health clerk available on campus -- as in Orange County public schools? * Do teachers even know whether the so-called "bed for sick students" actually exists? Despite the amount of money families invest in a private school that lacks even fundamental health support, it is worth considering whether the absence of a basic health office or a health clerk could place students at greater risk in certain situations.

WHAT WE LOVE: - The teachers have been here for years and have their process down and work with all the kids so well. The kids love all of them! - Competitively priced AND they provide you with 1/2 of the weekly tuition if you're going to be out for the whole week! - They provide breakfast, snack, lunch and afternoon snack! Most kids still pack a few extra snacks, but saves me time, stress and money! You can also bring your own lunch if your kid wants something specific...they post the menu every week. - They open early AND close later than most preschools that I found! This was much needed for me and my husbands work schedule - They have a great outdoor play area for the kids! - My son brings home so many projects he works on and has been learning so much academically as well! - As working parents we don't have a lot of time to do extras...they require very minimal assistance from us! For holiday parties, we can easily sign up to bring things...but no after-school events/performances/spirit weeks where we need to dress up the kids everyday! For us, that works best for our situation and we appreciate it :)
