When I went to the location where I was to board the bus going back home, the bus never showed up…read more We called customer service and was hung up on twice, put on hold, and directed towards the website from a outsourced company in Asia that wasnt even attached to Greyhound company, just hired to handle complaints by the bus company. The website gave us a form to fill out, but when they responded via that they simply didn't have enough information and they could not help, we were apalled and disgusted with how we were treated. We will never choose Greyhound again. We wanted a refund because of how corrupt we were treated. Now we are out of that money and as a result we are angry customers.

Ouch, one of the worst experiences I've had in my 60 plus years of life. I purchased a ticket…read moreonline the day before and made sure I was waiting for the bus an hour and half before the scheduled departure time in Casa Grande, Az. The lady working there came outside where I was waiting (Me being the only one waiting) and told me the bus was going to be 40 minutes late. Like she said, it was 40 minutes late, but when it got there the driver said sorry it's full. Well if it's full, what can you do for me and how did you sell me a ticket on a bus for a seat unavailable? She stated I could get on the 5:45 that afternoon but I would not reach my destination in CA until after 7 PM the next day and would have a 12 plus hour lay over in Pheonix. So I opted to just leave the next day, oops, sorry, no seats available. I hope there will be one available for the date she sold me a ticket for, a 48 hour delay. As a side note when she told me I could catch the 5:45 she stated she couldn't print me up a ticket for that bus. I called customer service and asked what would they do to make me a happy customer and the agent said all he could do is forward my complaint. He also said that the agent at the station would print me up another ticket for the 5:45 that day. So I went back to the station and asked her to print me a ticket, she said she couldn't do it because it wasn't a regular scheduled trip. So in other words she would throw me on a bus as a non scheduled passenger and I'd have to barter and beg to get to my destination in California. So here is a point of view; I purchased a ticket for a given day, for the sum of 160 dollars. Greyhound agreed to take me from Casa Grande to Turlock, CA with a specified pickup time and arrival time in CA, for my money, which I paid. Doesn't this seem like a contract for a service? I kept my end of the contract, Greyhound didn't. Because I'm taking a bus the most that happens is I get a refund or in my case go back 48 hours latter and try again. Why is it that airlines are require to compensate customers for unavailable seats on flights if they're over-booked or have long delays and a bus nothing? Is it because people who take a bus is low life and not worth protecting from this customer abuse? I don't know what we that choose to ride a bus can do, but it sounds like some legislation for bus passenger rights needs to be addressed. At least one of our class action law suit attorneys should take a look at this. In my opinion, and I'm not a lawyer, Greyhound is breaking contracts at-will with no avenue for protection of the passenger. Thanks for reading, I'm sorry for such a long rant, Greyhound made me do it.

-----this review is being posted for Greyhound Bus Lines as an entire company------…read more IS GREYHOUND TARGETING THE POOR BY REQUIRING GIAGANTIC FEE INCREASES FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT BOOK THEMSELVES?? Let me start by saying that I will NEVER use Greyhound again. Never. I had the unfortunate experience of riding Greyhound just after graduating college. My experience was that the facilities and buses were dirty. The facility lacked adequate security. Now I find out that they are targeting the very people that keep them in business by charging those who most need their service HUGE service fees. My latest experience: It was horrible. My sister, who is staying with me while she completes testing and assessments in consideration for a liver transplant, needed to return to Yuma immediately to provide care for another family member. Because my sister does not have checking or lines of credit, she asked me if I could book her ride for her online. She wanted to make sure that she had a spot reserved. I went to Greyhound.com to arrange for a ticket and transportation for my sister. Greyhound quoted a price of $34.32 for a one way ticket. As I completed the forms online and proceeded to checkout, the cost of the ticket had changed to $52.32. As I researched the change further, I realized that Greyhound has a policy of charging an $18.00 fee if you buy the ticket but are not the person using the ticket. Greyhound listed the fee as a "Gift Ticket Fee." I contacted Greyhound customer service. Based upon my conversation and the lack of English spoken by the rep, I am assuming that Greyhound has outsourced its call center function overseas. The CSR I spoke with explained to me that the fee is a policy of Greyhound and it is charged to cover the additional costs and for convenience. I asked him to breakdown what additional costs they were incurring? He was unable or unwilling to justify the fee. He kept reiterating that "this is our policy and you must pay Gift Ticket Fee." My feeling here is the Greyhound has instituted a policy that is direct fee on the poor and indigent. This policy has the DIRECT EFFECT of raising rates on those who can least afford it. In my sisters case, the cost for me to book her bus fare was an INCREDIBLE 52% INCREASE over the advertised fare. Greyhound...it is no wonder your ridership is in continual decline. It is no wonder that your company is on shaky financial grounds. Wake up. Take a look at your reviews online. Read what people are saying about you. Your organization used to be considered an icon in the American transportation system. Now you are looked at with despise.

I logged into Greyhound fares and asked for "cheap" from Oregon to Ohio. Fare given was $222.00…read moreone way which takes three days which means food along the way. By carefully booking on particular travel days (just flew on Christmas Day for a low, low fare) - and also at odd hours, I can accomplish this trip in a half day or less for about half this amount. Forget my even considering getting on a bus again. You used to be inexpensive - no more!!!!!!!
