My husband and I knew it would be a huge project as we had a 40 year old wood shake shingle roof that was not insurable and needed to go probably 10 years ago. We ended up having three different companies out to bid, one we had used before for a smaller project that gave a competitive bid and two unknowns to us. The first unknown wanted to charge us twice as much as what we ended up doing, so it's certainly worth asking around and getting quotes. 1A was the most unknown as it was the only one that came with no Yelp reviews and no feedback from others online. Turns out they are a new company and when Danny came out to quote us on the roof he was really friendly, answered all of our questions, and gave us a price we just couldn't beat. Before we settled the deal we had at least one more call with him and talked through even more questions that came up and felt assured they would do a great job on this project. It took them around 3.5 days to complete our roof and I will say it was a ton of work. Pulling wood shake off of a 3K sq. ft. home is not an easy feat, especially in early June humidity in KC. The crew got to work, and my husband and I got to know Roberto, who with Danny, are the two owners of 1A. Roberto is young, but an honest, kind, and talented roofer. He did a great job leading his team and getting us a solid and nice looking roof in a good amount of time. The thing that probably shocked me the most was just how quickly they were able to clean up and get our yard back to looking normal when they were done. On top of that they fixed anything that had to be moved, ensured our gutters were clean, and were responsive to all questions throughout the process.

This is a wonderful company to deal with. When the owner, Adam, came to do my estimate I was…read moreplanning on vinyl siding. He did provide that estimate, but then he told me about the seamless steel and I was hooked! And it turned out to be a great decision. In addition to all the benefits of steel and the lifetime warranty, Adam provided more then two pages of addresses in the area where they had installed steel siding, listing the color and the profile type (dutch lap, d5, etc) and I was able to drive around and get a good idea of things ahead of time. The 3-man crew that did my job was headed by Felipe, who I came to learn had 17 years experience, and it really showed! Any time I had questions Felipe answered them thoroughly and patiently. He and his crew were always very pleasant. I think we were in the middle of the worst heat wave in history (or so it seemed with days over 100 "feel like" temps) but they worked just as hard as ever, never skimping, never rushing, still paying attention to detail, and always working a full day. And the clean up at the end of each day was spotless! I also had all new 5" seamless gutters installed, and Joe was just as knowledgeable about them. We discussed a few options about gutter flow, etc. and he explained everything very well. He and his helper did a great job with the install (another extremely hot day). We had a torrential downpour August 19 and the gutters worked flawlessly. And they also have a 2 year warranty for any problems. Also during the course of my siding install I needed a window re-set so the siding would be one continuous piece. Scott and his helper handled that work just as well as the rest of the team did theirs. I was impressed with all the workers involved with my job, including the lady at the office who was also always kind and helpful. I appreciate that this is a family owned business with just a few crews who do the work. They know what they're doing and they will be around for support if needed. The prices are really reasonable without all the overhead of larger companies. And Adam knows his stuff inside and out and is just a good person to be dealing with. I am extremely happy with this company and the job they did.

The company who'd replaced our roof didn't replace the flat part. They said it didn't need to be replaced. It was a rainy day when they collected the check. As soon as they were gone, our family room ceiling opened up and gallons of water poured in. The roofing company agreed to replace the flat roof but they did a sloppy job. I had someone on my roof who was screening off areas where critters could access our attic and they told me that flat roof needed to be replaced, sooner than later. I contacted several companies recommended by people on the Nextdoor app. One company came out to give me a quote but never returned my calls. Another company told me they were only doing roof replacements. I appreciated their honesty. I was very specific when I called roofing companies; I didn't need a new roof. One guy came out and told me he could contact my insurance company and tell them my roof had been damaged from a storm. We'd not had any damage to our roof from storms and that's bordering on insurance fraud. I decided to check out Yelp recommendations and saw that Easton had a lot of good reviews. When I called, they were very nice and told me they'd send someone out. The guys from Easton were there on time and they gave me an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable so I called to schedule the repair. The workers were very nice, professional, timely and they were there everyday until it was finished. They cleaned up after the repair so I wasn't finding random pieces of roofing material. Everyone, from the woman who answered the phone to the guys who did the repair was very nice and the whole process was seamless. Easton completed the repair and after years of checking ceilings, I can finally relax. Another contractor I'd used to remodel our house often needed access to the roof. I didn't ask him to check the flat roof but while he was up there, he wanted to check it out. He assured me they'd done a very good job and then asked for their info so he'd have the name of a good roofing company if one of his clients was looking to replace their roof. When an outstanding contractor is impressed with the work done by another company and asking for the company's info, that says a lot. If we have to replace our roof, we'll definitely use Easton and if anyone needs a roof replacement or repair, I highly recommend them. They've earned those 5 star reviews.
