Cute little place I found while dripping a package at FedEx. I did not get a lunch so I stopped in for some pastries. Everything in the case looked great. I decided on the raspberry white chocolate scone and a HUGE caramel roll, that I split with my provider. The roll was warmed up and stayed warm the 1.5 blocks I had to travel. Cut this bad boy in half and dug in. So much flavor to it. I love cinnamon rolls but sometime there is too much icing. This was great with the caramel sauce on top. Sweet but not over powering where you fall in to a sugar coma, Al helped I only had half. I think it was about the size of my face. I wish I had stopped by for a coffee in the morning, it smelled great in there. If you are looking for whole roasted beans with different flavor profiles this is your place. Traveling through Grand Forks this morning we were hungry and searched for espresso and breakfast. After waiting over 30 minutes we were served a partially frozen breakfast, uninspired breakfast sandwich. The sad part is the service was friendly, the coffee shop clean and comfortable. But the bottom line is, if you can't deliver what's on your menu scratch it out and just serve coffee. There immediately and kindly refunded us upon request! read more

Burnt coffee. A clearly microwaved breakfast burrito with a hard to chew tortilla. This was a mistake coming here this morning looking for a good breakfast. Instead I got a tiny(though accurately priced) microwave breakfast burrito. Not sure how this place gets 4.5 stars on average. read more

They used to have ok coffee but the last couple times I have been there its literally brown water. The first time I thought it was a fluke and drank it but but was very sad. The second time I just threw the coffee out. For almost three dollars it should at least taste like coffee. read more

Coming from Australia where everyone is coffee fanatics I was excited to come check this place out. Cool atmosphere, and an AMAZING place to get some work done on my laptop while enjoying a decent coffee. Food was nothing to write home about but I'd recommend this place for a student wanting to get into the zone up the back in the booths or a bunch of friends wanting to catch up in the open space towards the front. read more

I like getting beans from here, the best I've found in ND including several places around GF and Fargo. They make some good baked goods as well, I've had the banana bread (with chocolate chips) and caramel roll recently. Both were fresh and tasted great. I wanted to try 2 different things so I tried the large café mocha (with 2 extra shots) and the in house black coffee. I used to be a barista and let me first start off my saying that the 2 girls working looked like they where having fun and just really helpful with my deciding choice. While letting my mocha cool a bit I tried the black coffee and I loved how smooth but vibrant the flavor was with notes of deep rich earthy flavor. That particular flavor is Sumatra. While my mocha is still cooling I'll tell about the atmosphere. Because of the internet it is quiet even though this place is packed. This would be the perfect place to study. I think my favorite part (besides the coffee) is there is outlets everywhere for you to charge stuff. I just tried the mocha and it was light but still very rich in flavor. I'm very happy I stopped I. And defiantly will return whenever I am in grand forks :) read more

Between this place and a Starbucks, there is little difference. I ordered a pound of the Sumatra medium roast expecting a fresh roast. The beans I got were the kind of greasy that takes at least a month of sitting on the shelf to accumulate and were no longer capable of retaining water. The barista had no skill whatsoever. I picked up a latte. Again, it was the sort of bubbly auto-frothed scalding hot latte you get out of a Starbucks. The Ember is still the only place in town I'd go to get a decent espresso drink. read more
