Service was great, super nice, food was yummy, great catfish, love the welcoming feel

Lady taking our order was kinda rude tried to get a patty melt but doesn't come with a bun I asked to add one and she said I couldn't and recommended getting a normal burger and adding onions and mushrooms so I did that and my burger came out with no onions or mushrooms burger was good but nothing special not much flavor in the patty lady who brought out our order was very nice tho ranch was also good read more

Excellent establishment! All the food is great! Tasty sides as well! Eaten here over 10 times and it's been awesome each time! read more

Bulldogs Cafe - Double Meat Burger with cheese! Around $10 & super delicious! - American Near Me - Sweeny, Texas

The people walk around you and when I asked where to place my order she told me rudely that it was going to be 45 minutes. It's understandable if a business is busy to explain that it was her presentation so rude then she proceeded to talk about me and laugh with another employee I will never order from here again... read more

Servers were friendly , generous food portions. Price was reasonable .Had a Taco salad, very good!

The Staff are amazing they have the kindest hearts in Sweeny they get your food almost immediately and never disappoint. this cafe is delicious burgers, fries, corn dogs and more an endless menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner. read more

Whenever I go to Sweeny to visit my husband while he works at the refinery we stop here and they have some of the fluffiest fried fish I have ever tasted. Their fried shrimp us nothing short of amazing as well. This place is a great place to visit when in the West Columbia/Sweeny area! read more

Young waitress slams her hands down on the counters and curses at seniors while throwing their food and making them wait until last while serving her friends. Rude, unprofessional, dirty, and skanky. read more

Great food! My go to restaurant in Sweeny! Took lots of relatives there as well as friends and they all loved the food there too! read more

Bulldog Burger is awesome. Lunch time for Kotrla Electrical Service's, LLC Awesome Place to eat! read more

It's a local favorite I heard... They have a hot plate style lunch bar daily. But other than that it was standard cafe/snack bar food. Most everything was fried, so I had a hard time finding something to order. You order at the counter and then they bring your food, that was nice. I opted for the nachos...they were good old school fare. I got the fajita chicken in mine-it was grilled, so I mostly ate that. I did try the peach cobbler-to die for! Staff...biggest downfall for me. They really didn't have time for me. They needed to finish their conversations first before they could take my order and they definitely weren't cordial by any means. Not one thank you or explanatory phrase. I thought the name came from the local mascot....but ....? I guess if you're one of the few places to eat in a small town, customer service may not be top priority. ‍ read more

My husband and I took our friends here this past weekend and we're amazed with the food! Three of us had the chicken fried steak, and we all enjoyed it. Our friends wife had chicken strips and said they were very good. You order at the counter and they will bring it out to you, shortly. We will definitely come back to Sweeney for lunch, as their food was very fresh and a great atmosphere. They also have a drive through window, and not cheap on their portions. read more

So coming into this food I was not sure what to expect. I had a business trip in Sweeny and a co-worker there asked for my order ahead of time so they could pick it up and bring it to the office. I am hesitant with "bar and grill" places most of the time because they are either great or not great. I ordered a chicken taco salad, and it was really tasty. I was happy that there was romaine lettuce and good guac and salsa. Most times I feel these salads are soggy iceberg with pace salsa on the side. Also, the meat was well seasoned and there were beans and cheese and all the toppings you could want. The portion was large and I couldn't even finish it. But YUMO! read more

I love the Bulldog Cafe. I have been to some of the finest restaurants on this planet, but at The Bulldog they know me! They are always happy to see me, and that is better than any flaming sauce. read more

It's becoming a favorite place to eat! But don't get in a hurry the pace is a bit slower here! The food is always great! Two of my favorites are the club sandwich and their fried fish! You can't go wrong here but slow your roll!!! read more

I have been to the Bulldog Cafe several times for lunch and the burgers are great. Service always seemed okay. My family and I went for dinner tonight and again, the food was good. Much better than most places that seem to think that putting out a plate of something is okay. But, service was atrocious. We ordered our food at the counter as usual, but it took over an hour to get the food. Not sure what the deal is, but it doesn't take long to cook a Chicken Fried Steak or Steak Fingers. read more

Always fresh, great tasting food and a friendly staff. The service inside or to go is awesome. Clean family restaurant with home cooked food when there's no time to cook it yourself. read more

It's a cafe, what more can I say. The food is good for a small town cafe, but the owner/manager is rude. When it's 100° outside and a customer complains about the temperature inside being hot, the customary thing to do is turn the air down. Instead she scowled at us the whole time for even asking. This is only one instance where we've received poor customer service from here. There have been many occasions. So, if you don't mind waiting a good 45 min or longer for steak fingers and you don't mind rude staff, then try it out. The food is good. read more

I got turned on to this place by a coworker. It's a fairly new place, it's very clean and has a rustic look to it. The indoor decor looks good and fits the atmosphere, for a small town cafe. I've tried there chicken fried steak fingers, they were very good. The breading made them. I just ate there bulldog burger, it was good, the jalapeño bun made the burger. I only wish I had added cheese to it. The tator tots are good also, very crispy. If you come here don't expect fast food times, they take there time cooking the food here, which I don't mind waiting for. There's two flat screens to watch while you wait. I will be returning soon. Good food at a good price. read more

Food is ok, service is terrible and very slow. The place was much better when it was a small building a few years back read more

We waited over an hour for food and they kept making excuses for why it took so long. There were 3 people working on a busy Saturday. When we finally got our food there was a plate missing that hadn't even been made. One of our chicken fried steaks looked fine, but when my son cut into it, it was literally half breading and just a small piece had meat. read more

Bulldogs Cafe - a plate of food and a salad - American Near Me - Sweeny, Texas

Food is delicious. It is filling and comforting. Anything on the menu. However service needs help. A few of them either don't listen don't understand or both. I have had serial messed up orders that took forever to fix but the food is so perfect. The full on flavor makes it almost worth the problems that sometimes occur. They remember their regulars and the favorites. This is rare in fast food but a gem when you are on your lunch break. They are very accommodating and take pride in their products. Prices are a little high but it's a small business. read more

If you like Texas-style onion rings, the hand-battered in flour type, then eat here. The fried shrimp are good too.

The food is average here, typical American classics like chicken fried steak & king ranch chicken. Has a hot plate service during the week from 11 to 130. Prices are high. I have never had an issue with the food itself. My husband and I do have issue with the service. There are one or 2 ladies in there that are consistently rude, every singe time! To the point where I want to say something but my husband says no. Small town extremely limited choices on dining so to "just deal" with it attitude comes into play. But we just can't stand it anymore, so we choose not to dine there anymore. If you can turn the cheek on the rude service then check this place out. read more

If you want to wait 45 mins for a burger on a 30 min lunch this is the place to go, and of course you must get served cold fries and tator tots too... And boy do they get in hurry to... NOT!!!! read more

Good food but unbelievably slow. Don't believe me? Try em. Plus if they don't feel like cooking they will take their phone off the hook so that you can't place an order. Lol, I caught em doing it last night. At first I thought it must because they were packed because their phone was constantly busy. So I get there and there's like two people there. I tell the lady about the phone being buisy and leave. As I'm pulling out of the parking lot I decide to call again just to see if it would work, and magically it did- stupid read more

The wait times are insane...other than that its pretty good food especially the Bulldog Burger. Wow.

IT is ok for a small town. I have not eaten there in YEARS!!!! So I have no idea of the service. I have heard from other people they are VERY slow but the food is good. I have also heard they sometimes mix up the orders. Like I said, good food for a small town that is never in a hurry to go anywhere. read more
