IBC Roofing

Wow. I cannot say enough good things about IBC Roofing…read more It started with project manager Molly Fallon. A roof replacement is a big deal to me and something I have no experience with so I was a little nervous pulling the trigger. Molly was very patient and I never felt any pressure. When I declined last year, we agreed she would follow up the following Spring and she did. No bugging us in the interim. When we felt comfortable moving forward, she explained everything clearly and kept in constant contact. She was true to her word every step of the way. Zero surprises. She even helped us pick the shingle color and it looks great! The whole company was great with communications from dropping the materials to the final completion. The crew was polite and efficient. No damage to landscape. Their clean-up after the job was extraordinary. Their service after completion for a special request of mine was performed quickly and cheerfully. They could have easily said it was not in the scope, but Troy came back and took care of it as part of the original job. I think their business model of working with insurance worked very well for me and I am happy with the results. It was a great value in my case. I would recommend this company to anyone with a storm damaged roof.

An IBC driver passed us on a double yellow line as my daughter was attempting to make a left turn…read more The driver then screamed F--- You multiple times. We contacted IBC and reported the incident. No feed back. We contacted Carteret Co. Sheriff's Dept. After a the deputy interviewed my daughter for 30 minutes showed him pictures of the IBC truck and license tag. Nothing was ever filled. So the IBC driver was correct when he screamed F--- You! Because you are F--ked living on McCabe Rd.

I contracted with SEM earlier this year after researching other companies in the area. The main…read moreattraction was that they have been local to Raleigh for ~20ys. Others offered a lower price, but found that these companies vanish overnight and leave you in a conundrum. SEM, takes on these situations to help fix the one and done companies trying to make a buck and splitting. After contacting SEM and working with Yanni, we agreed on a 30 panel system and a Franklin battery vs the Tesla system. The reason being I set up a 30a generator to power what I needed when Duke drops. Franklin offered a generator option so I can still charge the battery and run basic needs in times of a crisis. Plus, it's a 15yr warranty vs 10 for Tesla. My situation is likely a one off, so don't discount the Tesla option. I held off a few months before a review because I wanted to see how this worked. I'm very technical by trade and wanted to see how this played out. For starters, SEM is insanely detailed and will work with you to provide the installation you request, even with last second changes as things flow. They did as I asked and provided input along the way. The entire process was seamless and the PM Maddie, technical engineer Jeremiah and others were always engaged. Even the Wake Co Inspectors praised their excellent work and several told me SEM does everything right. Couldn't be more pleased. As for how this all works. I learned that it works best with full sun, cloudy/rainy days... you get a lot lower output which makes sense. Best days, I can generate 13kw during the day, it'll charge and deplete the battery later on to run the house without using street power. Duke will draw some energy here and there, but the Franklin setup depletes less than Tesla so the monthly kickback is $40 or so vs $50. I'd rather have the generator option and 5yr extra warranty. Just me. My wife thought more about this and now does laundry and the dishwasher on sunny days to use solar vs at night when we're back on Duke. Run the heavy stuff during the day. I moved to the fixed rate, 12.5 cents per KW/hr vs TOU which is 11.5 cents off peak and 22 cents peak (6pm - 9pm). I was paying upwards of $700 a month with an all electric hvac (one up and one downstairs) last year. I switched the downstairs to a dual fuel so I have propane heat and the Franklin system can run a regular hvac unit (heat pump without electric heat strips... so AC in the summer and a unit with propane or gas heat in the winter). During the past few months with 100F heat, my bill dropped to $163 on a full month of fixed pricing. Even on my best months in early Spring or late Fall using no hvac, I would pay well more than that. Another thing we did was bail from the storm events from Duke. I live on the East side of Raleigh between Knightdale and Clayton. It'll storm badly in each city, but it breaks away at the house. We don't need to go into full charge mode drawing 13kw when the odds are we won't need it. Plus, the generator option we have. So we killed the storm option feature to save a bit there. My only regret is that I didn't do this years ago. I was worried about aesthetics, but the layout more than pleased me. Barely pay attention to it. If you have the means to get this done, do it. This company is by far 2nd to none.

Billy returned my call within 10 minutes, and an hour later, here he was in my driveway ready to work... Awesome... In Shallotte, NC... Not Myrtle Beach where most companies choose to serve! I described our problem to him, and he knew exactly where to go... Starting with replacing the door magnetic reed switch... didn't help so he went on with diagnosing the problem. He told me he'd get the part he suspected from his shop and left with the promise to return later in the day... He Did just that with a Step Controller Module in hand. Unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem either. After checking voltages and grounds, we both agreed, it was probably the motor. Once again, this big guy is crawling under our RV where I wouldn't crawl... I'm OLD and Not Gunna Do It! He fought with the linkage and drive arm, and discovered they were jammed. It took a lot of brute force to break them loose, but it worked. Finally, the steps moved all of a sudden, and the rest was just adjusting the linkage to not jam the motor again and dressing the wires... Problem Solved! Now I got to tell Ya... I myself was an Engineer in the Computer Industry for many years, and I know when someone is either good at their trade, or not! Billy is Very Good at his chosen profession, and tenacious at his trouble shooting and problem analysis... Kinda like me... Whatever... I watched him carefully and quickly realized I had made the right decision to call him, rather than the big service outlet across the state line. I have an Extended Warranty, but those folks would have taken weeks to even get it in the shop ... (I just got it back from them over a slider issue and other electrical problems)! I chose a local 'Field Service Company' rather than waste another month without it and never getting updates on their progress.... Not My First Rodeo by a long shot... I Made the Right Call!!! The best part of this story is this... Billy (and his wife, whom I met when he returned) are very nice personable people and what he charges for his service is more than reasonable... To the point that when he told me the cost... I had to tell him it was too low and actually increased his payment! That's What I Call Five Star Service!!!!! I'm very glad to have met him and 'Highly' Recommend Him... End of Story!!!
