For our son's eighth birthday we rented a Coachman Apex Nano 185BH from Rex and Son's. The entire experience was fantastic! Only a few hiccups and they were learning curve things. (Like you fill up grey water fast!) The customer service that Rex and Son's provide is awesome. You can tell they have a passion for their trade and want to share that passion with others. It was my first time towing a travel trailer and I was given a hands-on lesson that gave me the knowledge and confidence I needed. We took the travel trailer from the flat coast to Stone Mountain State Park NC. While we didn't need to utilize the help, they made sure we had after hours contact information in case we needed any help with our rental. I bought a used camper from Rex and Sons and the services was a 10+ stars To start off with the sales months ago was so great. It had a broken fresh water tank and they promised me they would fix it but could not promise me when. Let me tell you. They kept their promise. They did all they could and worked hard and got it fixed before my trip out west. Yes in a couple of years I will trade it in and I'm coming back home to Rex and Sons for my next camper. Rare to have a sales rep on the phone taking the time to give personal help the way David did. He made sure we had identified the correct converter and DC side board to replace. This also involved returning an entire assembly to swap for just the converter and DC board. Everything worked out perfectly and our electrical system is back to like new. read more

My family decided to go on our first RV adventure once we found out Rex & Sons RVs had rentals. We rented a Class A motorhome for a little about $350 a night for our trip to Myrtle Beach. Rex, the owner, went over the RV with us. The first think we noticed was that the black water tank said it was full and we were told it was malfunctioning. Started to drive away and the RV began to smell like an outhouse. Found out that the tank was almost full when we arrived to our camp spot. Our entire trip smelled like shit, literally. read more

My wife and I had been looking at getting a travel trailer for a little while. We had met Gary and his son at an RV show at the Jacksonville, NC mall last year. Their "no pressure" salesmanship is what started us wanting to work with them. We ended up buying a used RV online from Facebook, while it was in good shape, it needed some work. I called Rex and Sons to talk to their service department about bring it in and having them look it over. The service manager, Dave, spoke with me and offered some ideas. I still wanted them to look at it, so I was going to take it to Wilmington, but then he mentioned that he would be at the Jacksonville Mall at their RV show in 2 weeks, and if I could bring it up there, he would look at it for me. We showed up with the RV, and Dave looked it over. He gave us his honest feedback, and while it was a little worse than we expected, we understood because he was able to show us things we did not see before. While we were there, we decided to look at some of the new models they had at the show. We ended up asking a lot of questions since we are new to the RV world. Dave was great and answered all of them! We ended up talking for nearly 3 hours! Afterward, Dave went on to help some other people while my wife and I stayed in one of the RV's discussing our plans. We decided to purchase the RV we talked about with Dave. That same day we took our truck down to their dealership to leave for the week for them to put our electronic break on. (it doesn't take them that long, that was the only time we could drop it off before pickup) When we got down to drop it off, we decided to look at the ones on the lot. As we walked around, Dave came walking up and asked if we needed any help. He had just gotten back from bringing an RV back from the show. He then spent another hour or so with us as we looked at the ones on the lot. He showed us another model that we had talked about in Jacksonville, but they didn't have on-site at the show. It was more money than we wanted to spend, so Dave did not try to upsell it to us when we were at the show, but he thought it might be a better fit if we could have afforded it. Well, after seeing the better model we decided to buy that one instead. Typically, we wouldn't go over our budget, but it was a better fit. It was amazing that Dave did not try to "upsell" us even though it was a better fit, and that is why we decided to buy it. He knew it was probably a better fit, but that it was also a little out of our range, and he didn't want to make things hard on us. We really appreciate that kind of salesmanship. That is the kind of customer service/support that will keep us coming back. The rest of the team has been great to work with. We went to Rex and Sons in Feb. 2016 with the intention of buying a camper our plan was to pay cash for the camper. We spoke to several salesmen and found 1 that was really helpful. When it came time to purchase we found out that the salesman that we liked was unable to help us cause we had talked to the Sales Mgr. Gary was his name I believe in a phone question we had. He was not the kind of character we would normally deal with and we were unimpressed that he "snaked" the salesman that we liked by saying that he would have to go through him anyway for the sale. He told us that we should get a loan and to save our cash cause they got a kickback from the lenders. Well against our better judgement we filled out paperwork and applied for a loan. We got a call the next day and the loan company said we were approved and to come in to sign the paperwork. I told them that I had some questions and before we would sign anything that we needed to know the terms. They said that they got us a really good deal at 16% interest rate. I was furious and told them that it was unacceptable and declined. I told them that it was a deal breaker and I would be looking elsewhere. Later I got a letter from the lender that we were declined because of our credit history. Now it shows up on my credit rating. I want to make it clear that we declined the obnoxious interest rate and not them. We drove to Goldsboro To Daly RV and got a fabulous deal and saved nearly $7,000.00. We dealt with a fine Christian man(Alan Daly) and love our new camper. I am not impressed with the way they (Rex and Sons) conduct business feel like they are crooks.
