They older blonde lady at the register was very rude to us but I didn't let that spoil our good breakfast since we were leaving. May 13th, I wanted to meet a friend for dinner and thought since breakfast was good, I wanted to try their dinner. She had never been there before so we agreed! We met there at 5:40. It started off okay. But the server was pretty pushy and was getting impatient. We kept chatting and placed our orders. We let her know we would be ordering some stuff to go and went on chatting. She got progressively more rude as time went on. Things got messy when we went to go pay. I forgot last time they charged a 3.5% fee for paying with a card so my husband paid cash. I didn't tell my friend so she was surprised when it was on her bill. She said TO ME. No one else that she didn't know there was a card fee and she would have used cash if she had known. The older lady with blonde/white hair snapped and said it was on the counter (my to go bag was covering it) and on the front door. We had missed it since we were chatting the whole way in. Simple error and no biggie. We said we would remember for next time. The lady was even more rude in her tone and demeanor saying that it was right there on the door and counter again. I said sorry, I forgot and also didn't see it. Talking to me, my friend said she wojld just bring cash next time because she wanted to try their breakfast. I didn't know there was a higher level of mean to this woman, but there was. At that point my friend said she wouldn't be coming back. The older lady started shouting in front of other guests "Good, don't come back." And some other nasty things. I was so embarrassed I brought my friend here. I guess if I would have read reviews over the last several years, I would have been warned about this lady. Unfortunately she is the owner...so...we won't be going back. Darn it! Such a cool place.

What an absolute find this was while I was passing through Louisburg! A very unexpected KC BBQ…read moregem. The inside was unique with taxidermed deer heads on the wall and cattle ear tags to denote the table numbers, but overall cozy and comfortable with a nice looking bar. This place is interesting because it's clearly part beer hall (with some giant 30 Oz. Beer mugs), part BBQ joint, and part pizza place. The Spare Tire is one of the best specialty sandwiches you'll find. Traditionally with brisket and ham, I opt to sub out the ham for Turkey. I love the melty provolone, double toasted bun, and the well-seasoned crispy onion straws. The fries are perfect and handcut. The sauces are nice. The baked beans and the cheesy corn are both special and have amazing flavor. The ribs still have the tip attached. The texture is perfect for a spare rib but not ideal for a rib tip. The pulled pork and beef burnt ends are also excellent. I am obsessed with the locally baked bread they serve with their platters. Overall, good BBQ spot and I will be back but now - I want to try the pizza!

It too came to the table well done. Baked beans were very good. Cole slaw, bland, fries were so-so. Poor beer selection.

Just wow. Close this…read moreplace or get a manager. In short. A Sunday evening. Stopped in for a bit of food. And let's give the food the 3 stars it deserves. It was OK. Exactly what you would expect from any fast food place that turns over cooks as fast as it turns over burgers. But this is a restaurant. Yeah, it is a country-themed, big, and wooden hunting-style restaurant. With absolutely nothing Big, Hunted, or Country on the menu. There is no heart here. Just whatever you could pick up for quick reheating from Sysco or Costco. And service... well, the most service we received was when one person stopped by long enough to ask us if our server had been by to get our payment. When we told her no... she didn't take our payment... she just said, "it figures" and presumably told the kid waiting on us. After she finished what she was doing with her tables, of course. Moral of the story... just go somewhere else. It will be a long drive to get to the next place. But you will enjoy it more.

Menu was mostly classic midwest/southern fare (not my personal fav). We split the pretzels and queso appetizer - so good! My husband had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatos and broccoli. He enjoyed all of it, but found the roll very bland. It also came with a cup of the soup of the day or salad - soup was a white chicken chili which was surprisingly delicious! My dad had a hot beef sandwich, which he enjoyed. Mom had sliders and onion rings and brought some leftovers home. The onion rings were very tasty! Service was amazing, staff was very attentive. We were there during a lull between lunch and dinner and there were maybe 3-4 other tables. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves!
