Desperate to find a restaurant away from the busy main city center we found this gem down a narrow cobblestone alley just off the center. It was chilly but we wanted to sit outside, they had heaters, pillows and blankets if needed it was very pleasant. Our server was awesome (he may have been the owner and wish I could remember his name). He took great pride in his restaurant and the food they serve. He was genuine, very pleasant and took the time to explain the menu. Our drinks were first brought out and then our bean soup and bread. The bread (oh the bread!) was excellent, crispy outside soft inside, clearly fresh. The bean soup was a large portion and was very flavorful, excellent. For main entree I ordered chicken and husband ordered beef stew. Everything was delicious! Our server checked on us several times to ensure we were enjoying our food as well as seeing if we needed anything (a rarity in Vienna!) We finished with a huge dessert called papanasi which is a cheese base dessert so it was not sweet (but the topping was yum!) so it was different to us but it was good and clearly made fresh! So if you are tired of crappie rude service and mediocre food I strongly recommend you try this wonderful restaurant. read more
