We didn't feel it should take a month to get a bid and who knows how much longer to get the order in. He never gave any apologies for delays or gave a reason for their being delays. On the 29th when we said we're going elsewhere and why, he said sorry he's been on an extended family vacation. Seemed a lame excuse especially in a sales position, people always say they're going to be out of the office such and such dates or let you know a reason why you're not going to get any communication or results from them

We previously used a budget blinds company in the area on our business' windows and those were okay but the Hunter Douglas blinds we got with this company have been top notch. The price here was the best we found for top-down/bottom-up blinds with the enclosed string, and we also had some rooms with the blackout style blinds because I work nightshift... They have all been great... But the real difference for us has been in the fact that the customer service over the years when the kids' broke a tab or string on the blinds has been amazing, and the response to get the blinds fixed and returned to us has been really fast. He arrived at the exact time specified and brought samples for me to review. During the initial consultation, he wasn't rushed and took the time to explain the different types of products and how the UV blocking technology worked and how it helped block light while still providing visibility. He also used a very cool laser guided measuring tool that was a lot more accurate than the old fashioned plastic tape measure. I like supporting locally owned businesses and companies that are family owned. She put together multiple quotes because we were not sure what we wanted (or how much of it the builder would cover), and we were able to get exactly what we were comfortable paying for and the fabric choices were great! We went with roman shades and the person who came out to measure and install was excellent. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and easy to work with! Our new shades look great and block the light very well! Also, they arrived VERY quickly and were able to come install right after arrival! (Ordered Sept 11th, installed Sept 24th) The only downside we experienced was we were not able to find a solar shade similar to one we previously saw (where it blocks the sun but does not provide a ton of privacy), and ended up going with another company for those (Lowe's- they were cheaper for the GIANT windows we have). We were stubborn once we knew what we wanted, otherwise I am sure this company would have done an excellent job on those as well! As far as prices go, this company was middle of the road but provided the service expected for the price. Cheapest being blinds.com or Lowe's (but there is much more churn with scheduling and long lead times, however you can get deals for holidays and such), and on the high end you'd find things like the Shade Store or other boutique-y places. We took one of our broken blinds to another shop to be fixed eventhough we had to pay, and they couldn't because they needed a part from Norman and were not able to contact them either. My last intent was with Window Select, I contacted Joni Greenbaum, explained to hear our situation and she was king and helpfull. All I needed was a little part…read more.. ...the part that retains the blind cord from getting tangled and choking your cat or kid... it's an odd plastic thing-a-ma-jig or a doo-hickey. I only found it online (for about $7 each) and locally Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. all hadn't a clue as to what I was seeking. American Drapery, Blind, and Carpet came through with 5 stars! They knew what I needed (called a "p-clip" it turns out) and had them in-stock for not a lot of money (I got three for less than the cost of one online). Parking is on-street or use the city-owned parking garage near the transit center -- parking for the first 2 hours is free. The transit center is immediately next door to American, as is a nice coffee shop and wine bar. It's across the street from a well-known Indian restaurant and a bunch of other shops and restaurants are within a 3-5 minute walk from here. Local number is 425-255-3893.

We typically go with their manufacturer brand on blinds which are a nice combination of price and quality.They also carry name brand like Levor, etc. if you want to go with a higher grade. I like the fact we can call one person to measure and take the entire order. This definitely saves us time.
