Phase 2 on my drainage problem: Elias gave me a good quote for this huge job He was patient while I secured finances and finished the job in a timely manner despite several rain delays and 2 weeks of having to jack hammer the rocky hillside away from the house I am so incredibly pleased Elias is a good person with integrity

Broken commitments

Elias is FAR from being a man of his word or contract! He Miscalculated my contracted job & charged me for it (costing me an extra $4,000)! Elias, just now, got in his truck & abandoned my job that he rescheduled/flaked on me 4 times! Elias plays childish nickel & dime games when trying to do business. Despite his shenanigans, I still tried to work with him, but he got up & burned me for the 5th & last time just now! Response to Elias: Please! You don't even believe that noise your are trying to weasel in. Everything I stated are facts! Mijo, no te emociones. Mario (who is not part of your company) I highly praised his work - you did not lift a finger on my project, but poorly managed it, I had to manage it. But you are right, I don't deserve a contractor like you, no one does - a contractor that will cowardly abandon a job after burning you 4 times!

I am very satisfied with the quality of the work. They were very careful and followed my directions about how I wanted the job done. I will use them again for my next concrete job.

Such amazing work done by these guys! Professional, courteous and very reasonable. Best of all, there was very little clean up after they left. Definitely would hire again for another project in my near future!

Walkway around pool

Elias and his team did an amazing job! We were in constant contact as the project was going and concrete was poured on the date he stated it would be!! Thank you!! He poured three walkways and a curbing to boarder my grass!!

I am so happy with the results of The concrete. Thanks to Elias and his crew . All my concerns and questions were answered before the job was started. He was professional and very clean. Also, he had finished the Job in a timely manner. I will be using Elias again

The concrete work is pretty good, although it was not actually Elias that did it, but rather some other guy who stayed all day to finish after the pour. My issue is that Elias's favorite word is "tomorrow", as in "I'll be there tomorrow", but not show up or text or call to say he's not showing up. So, a job that should have been done within a week stretches out to 2-3 weeks to finish everything up (I also paid for a new gate section which was a big mistake because these guys really aren't fencers). These guys need to be watched closely because they will do whatever they feel like without consulting the homeowner. I did not hover over them because I figured they knew what they were doing, and I regret it. They cut the wires to my sprinkler valves to keep water off of the pour area. Had they asked, I would have assured them that the sprinklers were already shut off, but they don't ask, they just do. They also tore out some of my brick veneer without asking and I don't even know why. They kept saying they would fix these things, but all I heard was tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. We were still waiting for the gate to be installed a week after the pour, and I really don't think they were ever going to come back if my wife hadn't called and complained to him. Even then, it was still a tooth-pulling endeavor to get Elias back out to finish the fence, so I held back some of the money I owed him (not enough, really) and told him to not bother coming back, which is pretty ironic as he would barely show up anyway. I ended up building and installing my gate and I fixed the sprinkler wires easy enough, but the brick veneer is looking to be unfixable. Elias needs to learn what communication, commitment, and good customer service is. At no time did I feel like I was a priority or that this job was important to them. I was just something being squeezed in between more lucrative jobs, I suppose. Thanks for tearing up my house Elias.

Ask the Community - Building Hard Concrete

I have notice that possibility of water coming into the home from outside when it rain. Before I have some cement work done in certain areas next to the house are you guys able to seal the exterior foundation before pouring the cement?

Hi good afternoon. Yes we can apply some water proofing materials to the foundation before pouring concrete. Also we need to pour concrete wit the slope away from home to avoid water near foundation

I recently moved and went looking for a contractor to handle the renovation project in my new home…read more My mom and I met several contractors, did walk-throughs of the project, interviews, etc. Once we meet Florentino, we knew he was the right man for the job. He arrived on time for the appointment, listened to our wants and needs, offered some professional suggestions to enhance our desired results, and provided a quote for the project quickly. Our project budget was just under $90,000. Florentino did a great job of completing the project on time and under budget. He kept us informed every step of the way and adapted to any changes that needed to be made at the last minute. He never complained, kept workers on task, and communicated expectations and deadlines throughout the project. The work done by Florentino included the following: demolition of walls, constructing new walls, installing french doors, installing hardwood floors, natural stone floors, install of all tile shower in guest bath, paint interior and exterior of house, install new side door, pour concrete walkway, new vinyl gate and fence, two alumawood patios (one 6x8 feet, one 12 x 56 feet), electrical work (adding, moving, and replacing outlets and switches), new granite counter tops with new sink and back-splash, retrofitting existing cabinets for new appliances, and hang multiple ceiling fans and lighting fixtures. I am extremely pleased by the work Florentino has done and proud to recommend him to anyone in need of his services. I cannot say enough good things about him, his work ethic, and his character.

I hired McGraw…read moreConstruction to build a fence after reading reviews and their price being competitive from other quotes. I had a good feeling about working with Florentino and the job started off well. He was good about responding to my texts and questions and was timely to start the job. Overall I was happy with the work but looking back there were some issues I wish worked out better. I liked them but just don't feel I got what I paid for. I wish the overall communication with me, as a customer, was better. Florentino mentioned before starting the job that he and his crew does not work weekends. My job began midweek and was told if it wasn't completed by Friday, it would be by Monday which I didn't have issue with. I drove into town that Saturday to check on the progress and was surprised to find Florentino working on it. It wasn't an issue with me but my tenant wasn't too happy since they were having a large family function and was concerned about the work/noise during their event. I wish I knew so that I could have communicated that to my tenants. Per my request, McGraw installed a 4" mow strip which the fence sits on. The fence posts are 6" wide and sticks out past the mow strip, looking off. I am not an experienced fence builder. I would have appreciated being advised to go with a 6" mow strip to have the end result look uniform. The original photo I showed Florentino of the end look, as far as the tiered design going from high to medium to small height (fence in front yard separating my property from neighbors) was not correct, therefore had to be changed twice. This caused him to stay longer now into the early evening because he didn't want to return the next day or Monday and caused issue with my tenant due to tenant needing to get to bed early for work the next day. Communication from Florentino would have been important and would have saved time if I was called to be informed/advised design would need an additional board to be removed in order to match previous design change. Included in my quote was to replace a walk through gate entering my side yard to the backyard. I noticed the boards on the bottom of the gate were not even. Per my request they were cut evenly. How could you not have them even or not notice that?! Then I noticed the original posts for the gate were not replaced and the entire section wobbled. The posts are original and 20 yrs old. I requested the entire section to be replaced. Only the fence boards were replaced leaving the original wobbly posts and the X section boards replaced after I insisted. He explained to me that the posted were not damaged and still in good condition. I felt more like he didn't want to take the time to do it. I would have liked a call saying "Hey, these posts are very loose. Do you want us to replace or leave alone and only replace the fence boards?". A month and half later there are three fence boards that are warped and making the entire design unappealing. Cedar was decided for this job. It's been stated to me that cedar is not the best to work with and looks like the most inexpensive kind was used on my project. It was not communicated to me in the job estimate stage from Florentino the life span and effects of cedar. Not knowing about fencing, I would have expected to be somewhat educated/advised by an experienced contractor on wood types. Unfortunately, it looks like the boards will need replacing within a year after spending over $3,000 for this project. I don't feel McGraw went over/beyond on my job, rather wanted to get it done in the quickest way and charged more than I should have paid. Wish I could feel more warm/fuzzy on this one. Next project I will do more homework.
