The one key issue for me was the R-rating and since R-value is a major factor in comparing insulation options, I wanted to understand exactly what was being installed. I tried to follow up with the estimator to get clarification and asked for a call back. While multiple emails were exchanged from what seemed to be the corporate end, there was no actual human interaction, and my request for the estimator to call back failed. Because of that lack of follow-through, I ultimately decided to go with another vendor who was more responsive. AttiCare made a good first impression, but communication after the initial visit failed. I wouldn't proceed without speaking to the estimator. They lost a job due to that.

They came in a compact sedan without an apparent ladder. I don't know how they planned on inspecting my attic without a ladder. I refused to allow them in. If they can't even be on time or give the courtesy of a phone call, what kind of work they would do for me. It took the company a week before they called to want to reschedule. I won't be using them.

But my basement had old fashion grids so mouse/rat can easy get in and out so I had to deal with it urgently. Brandon came at a short notice and gave me a quote and said he can come and start the work in 2 days. The other companies I got the quote could only come after 5 days, some of them after 1 week. He also pointed out that my attic insulation is old and thin. And since he has to clean the attic (there were some mouse activities there too) he suggested it's not a lot of extra cost to put the whole new insulation. (I have been feeling cold in the house due to the old insulation so was happy to replace with a new one taking this opportunity). The crew (2-3 people) came for 2 days and fixed all the holes with the mesh in the basement, crawlspace and the attic. Cleaned the droppings, vacuumed the whole place, sanitized and set the traps. They even cleaned the duct in the house. It was a lot of money but with the amount of work they did, I was very happy. I bought the house 1.5 years ago and I wanted these things done anyway (duct cleaning, new insulation) so the mouse control was a good reason to tackle all of them. Long overdue review for James and his Team!…read more I had hired them a few years back based on their reputation and excellent Yelp reviews for a furnace installation & ducting in my own home and they did an awesome job. Great communication, workmanship, and efficiency. They were first to come to mind again when I recently needed another old furnace replaced in a commercial tenant's space. Time was of the essence and James accommodated us into his busy winter schedule within two days. Since the furnace was very old and ducting was from another era, James communicated right away all of the potential issues. His team even stayed late to complete the install in the same visit so the tenant could have warm air right away. Any unusual or other issues that arose during the install, James communicated and had resolved as soon as possible to ensure client satisfaction. I am very picky when it comes to professional building techs, but would give 10 stars to Ocean Air if I could. My only disappointment is that they do not have a plumbing, electrical, or general building maintenance arm of their business!
