Team member spotlight: Will…read more I absolutely love this rec center and gym. It has become one of my favorite places to work out and reset. Parking is always plentiful and easy, which immediately makes the experience stress free. The hours work perfectly for my schedule, especially since I usually go in the morning to early afternoon. There is so much to do here. I have not taken any of the classes yet, but I love knowing they are available and plan to explore them eventually. One of my favorite features is the indoor track. I am also really looking forward to the indoor pool reopening and am excited about the addition of saunas. Saunas are such an important part of overall health and recovery, so that will be a great upgrade. Cleanliness really stands out here. The locker rooms, bathrooms, equipment, and common areas are consistently well maintained. I regularly see staff cleaning throughout the facility, which makes a big difference. The people here are genuinely kind and welcoming. Will, William, in particular, is wonderful. He is always friendly, personable, and remembers me and my family. I also notice how engaged he is with other members, which adds to the sense of community. There is a nice balance of ages here. You do occasionally see younger children, usually elementary age, participating in day or after school programs near the basketball courts, but it never feels overwhelming. I also love that they offer pickleball and a variety of other activities, which makes the space feel inclusive and active for everyone. Overall, this is a clean, well run facility with a strong community feel. I truly enjoy coming here and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming and well maintained rec center and gym.

The weight area isn't watched by employees and is abused by guests. The pool on the other hand is always supervised by a life guard. It's clean and gets lots of use. The water aerobics classes were a lot of fun. They also offer Zumba, basketball, and ping pong. The ping pong table is also in a weird spot, right in front of the ladies locker room. It feels a little weird opening the door to walk in with a bunch of guys playing ping pong. They were always nice but it just seems a little odd. The showers and locker rooms were always clean. They even had a cool swimsuit drying machine, so you don't have to put a wet suit back into bags. Overall, inexpensive and provides a lot of options for getting exercise

(not that all rich people are bastards, mind you) We played tennis but never competed. We played on old, cracked, outdoor, forgotten courts because then we didn't have to deal with anyone else. I played in skate shoes, flannel shirts, and jeans (it was the '90s!). We love to swim but we take more time to complete a lap than an asthmatic turtle. So when I hear 'tennis club' I cringe. I automatically think of upturned noses. But after four times of hitting balls around at Chippewa, my apprehension is waning. This ain't no snobby country club. I'm a plus one on my partner's family's membership so I can't tell you anything about cost. I can tell you, however, that there are: - six well-maintained really-high-ceiling indoor courts with water stations and benches. - draw-nets that separate the courts. - large wheeled carts filled with tennis balls. - a lot of people taking lessons which means you get a range from Eastern students with blond ponytails and 80 mph serves to 50 year-old men with sweat bands on their heads who can hardly hit a ball. - changing rooms with great little nooks that give you a little privacy and comfort - six spacious showers in private stalls with nice hot water - a small sauna - a full gym downstairs with aerobic machines, weights, etc. Always is empty when I'm there Still haven't scoped the pool but hope to do so soon. If you want a laid-back atmosphere with all-season courts but where you don't have to have a diamond ring or a beamer to join, this just might be your place.

It makes for some interesting activity in the room with 4 walls. I was actually looking forward to it as I had not played in a while. The place sits hidden back off of Golfside Rd. It has a distinctive sign that you can't miss. Half way down the long driveway I was wondering if I was in the right spot. I then saw a building so to the left I turned. Hmmmm.....Seems deserted and vacant. It took me 15 mins to call the club to ask if I was at the correct location. Nope! You turned left instead of right and you are at the Swimming pool and outdoor Tennis courts. Okie Dokie. The place is actually at the furthest end of the driveway. Once arriving at the actual building I noticed I was at the correct location because I actually saw people. After climbing the steps and entering the building there are Indoor Tennis courts, Soccer and Racquetball rooms. The charge is $6 to enter. There is a locker room for men and women. I would recommend bringing a lock. The RB rooms are located on the lower level along with Exercise equipment. It is not a new facility but maintained, We played 6 games and I felt the burn the following day. Overall, it was a fun experience once you actually find the correct building.

After that horrible experience, I decided to change her lessons to one-on-one private lessons with a different instructor. It was mainly a sweet girl named Julia who worked with my daughter. My daughter became so excited about swimming! Julia was very patient with my daughter and after the lesson, she'd come right up to me and explain to me everything they went over, and what we needed to work on at home. So even though our first experience here was god-awful, our visits after were so that I'm still giving it 5 stars. Also it is a very nice pool to hang out around with ample swimming pools/areas. Really large shallow wading pool for young children.

Man, it's rarely open. This season it hasn't even been open at all because of a mechanical issue and last summer it had several closures and hiccups throughout the season. And when it was open, a good part of the pool (the deep end) was closed off because they were short staffed. That means that all the other spaces got extra crowded, which wasn't the best scenario for a relaxing swim. Such a bummer! It's walking distance from my house so I REALLY REALLY want to love it, and mostly I REALLY REALLY want to visit it but we just can't because it's still been closed. We still walk our dog through the park, and I love the baseball games and checking out all the rad skaters in the skate park, but the pool is just a real bummer.
